Nissan is intending to exhibit two special versions of its popular crossovers, the Qashqai and the X-Trail, at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The show car duo – the Qashqai Premium Concept and the X-Trail Premium Concept – are essentially different models but feature similar themes, colors and materials.
Both SUVs are wrapped in a vibrant yet elegant black and white palette as contrasted by a premium golden copper. The Qashqai Premium Concept and the X-Trail Premium Concept are creations of Nissan Design Europe (NDE) in London and Nissan’s Global Design Centre (GDC) in Japan, respectively.
Since both the Qashqai and the X-Trail play a big role in Nissan's success in Europe, the Qashqai Premium Concept and the X-Trail Premium Concept demonstrate the carmaker's intention to cater to more customers in more markets.Read the entire article Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail premium concepts to be presented at Geneva Motor Show
The current Nissan Qashqai (known as the Rogue Sport in the US) has been around for about three years now, and it also recently went through a facelift. In Europe, the model is very important for Nissan as it has been a huge success for them, being the automaker’s best-selling compact crossover in continent, and the best-selling model built in the United Kingdom. The Qashqai is not only popular in Europe as the automaker has also commercialized this C-segment CUV in larger markets all over the world.
To keep its success continuous, Nissan must play its cards right for the next and third generation Qashqai. And already, the Japanese automaker mentioned that the next Qashqai will have some similarities with the IMx Concept that is currently on display at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, when it comes to the design.
Alfonso Albaisa, who acts as the company’s senior vice president of global design, says that the IMx concept is just a design study, which means that it will probably never reach the production line. However, he did say that we should expect a production model that will be bigger than the Juke, and it will also get some of its design elements from the IMx. Of course, we should not expect the 2020 Qashqai to look very much like the show car and that it will definitely not be as flashy, but some of the concept cues will be having a road-going equivalent. Albaisa said that the IMx’s strong features will definitely be toned down for the production model.Read the entire article 3rd-gen Nissan Qashqai gets design inspiration from IMx Concept seen at 2017 Tokyo Motor Show
Nissan has unveiled the facelifted 2017 X-Trail earlier this month. The timely upgrade gave the X-trail an enhanced front end, self-driving tech and a revised interior. In-house tuner Nismo (abbreviated from Nissan Motorsport International Limited) will now give the X-trail a sportier look with a newly issued Nismo Performance Package. However, the downside of this package is that it only offers aesthetic upgrades and does not feature mechanical improvements for the SUV.
This is not what we expected when Nissan revealed that they would be producing more Nismo models, but we can deal with another body kit produced for Rogue, or as they name it in Japan and Europe, the X-trail. This package will be exclusively released for Japan consumers so far. As an expected Nismo product, the body is finished in white paired with the black and red details for contrast like the front and back diffusers and the side skirts. T
he radiator grille is now enclosed by gloss back panels and bolder bumper up front. Moreover, there's a brand new lower bumper spoiler spotted at the back with integrated parking sensors and dual chrome exhaust pipes. A bundle of exclusive 2 tone wheels and chrome handle contributes to the more dynamic look. It can be observed that inside the cabin, there are no hyped changes, the flat-bottom steering wheel is included in the latest addition for the SUV but no sports seats or pedals are offered with the package which is kind of disappointing.Read the entire article Nissan reveals Nismo Performance Package for 2017 X-Trail Facelift in Japan
Presented in 2013, the 3rd gen X-Trail is now the beneficiary of a long awaited mid-cycle upgrade this year. The European equivalent of the Nissan Rogue, the mid-size crossover will now flaunt sharper aesthetics, better packaging, more comfortable features and a few tech novelties.
Juventus and Real Madrid will battle it out head to head to determine the champion in this year's UEFA Champions League in Europe, in what is considered the largest soccer event for club teams on the continent. The final match will also host the unveiling of the facelifted version of the X-Trail from Nissan, the official automotive partner of UEFA Champions League.
In what is considered as a state-of-the-art tech is the ProPILOT autonomous driving system which will be offered for the aforementioned SUV next year. The new tech will manage the acceleration, steering and braking in a single lane highway in heavy traffic jam and high-speed travel. The system is part of the Japanese automaker's Intelligent Mobility array of tech that also involves Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.Read the entire article 2017 Nissan X-Trail Facelift debuts with ProPILOT autonomous driving tech
If you’re a pet lover with strong preference for our canine friends, then this newest concept vehicle from Japanese carmaker Nissan would be to your liking. In fact, a dog-lover would want Nissan to turn this concept into a production vehicle in the nearest time as possible.
Nissan is introducing the all-new Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs Concept, which has been designed according to the preferences of most dog owners in the United Kingdom. The X-Trail 4Dogs concept was basically an offshoot of a recent survey conducted by The Kennel Club -- the largest organization for promoting dog welfare in the UK – and covering more than 1,300 dog owners.
According to the survey, around 98.7 percent of the survey respondents use their vehicles to transport their dog with 88.7 percent of dog owners doing that at least once a week. Moreover, around 90.5 percent of dog owners transport their pets in the car when travelling for at least 10 minutes. These indicate how important a vehicle is when transporting dogs from one place to another.Read the entire article Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs Concept is your pet's little mobile hotel
Since the Qashqai SUV was first released by Nissan in 2013, it has gone on to become the best-selling crossover in Europe. During the early part of this year, there were reports that the Japanese automaker may be releasing a revised version. That appears to be true as Nissan has officially unveiled the 2017 Nissan Qashqai Facelift during the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
Qashqai owners know that one of the benefits of this model is that it allows for a more confident drive. Even with the number of modifications, the new version is able to continue having that excellent outstanding performance. Because of the improvements done to the steering system, damping system, and the suspension system, the new Qashqai is able to offer a road experience that is more refined than usual.
With better utilization of absorption materials plus the glass in the rear being made thicker, it’s ensured that noise experienced in the cabin is lowered. The selection of the different-sized wheels help as well since they have all been optimized in terms of aerodynamics in order to maximize the efficiency.Read the entire article Nissan showcases 2017 Qashqai Facelift at Geneva Motor Show
It isn’t merely speculation anymore – Nissan is bringing the Qashqai mid-size crossover to the United States, but with a different name. In fact, Nissan has confirmed that this mid-size crossover will have its debut at the 2017 North American International Auto Show, widely known as the Detroit Auto Show.
As we have reported, Nissan intends for the Qashqai to fill the size gap between the smaller Juke and the larger Rogue. The addition of the Qashqai – the best-selling mid-size SUV in Europe -- as a complement to the Juke and the Rogue would allow Nissan to benefit from the seemingly insatiable hunger for SUVs in the US, where motorists have been switching from passenger cars to utility vehicles. While there is a real business case for the US launch of the Qashqai in the US, Nissan was expected to rename the SUV since American buyers might have some trouble pronouncing “Qashqai.”
Nissan did rename the Qashqai as the new Nissan Rogue Sport. Nissan eventually decided to use the Rogue moniker – with the Sport suffix – as it is already a known nameplate in the US. Mike Bunce, Nissan North America vice president of product planning, remarked that since Nissan managed to build a lot of equity on the Rogue, it only makes sense to piggyback on its popularity by renaming the Qashqai as the Rogue Sport.Read the entire article 2017 NAIAS: Nissan unveils the US-bound Qashqai as Rogue Sport
This rumor is not something new – it has been lingering since 2015 – that Japanese carmaker Nissan is bringing its Qashqai to the United States. The best-selling mid-sized crossover in Europe could be coming to American soil with a possible debut this month at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, The Truth About Cars reports citing sources with knowledge of the matter.
Nissan has been experiencing increasing demand for the larger Rogue SUV in the US. With this, the Qashqai could be marketed in the US as a more compact and more economical version of the Rogue. In fact, the Nissan Qashqai features a number of similarities with the Rogue. While both are underpinned by the same architecture, the Qashqai is shorter than the Rogue by around 10 inches. Moreover, the wheelbase of the Qashqai is shorter than that of the Rogue by two inches. These dimensions meant that the Qashqai offers a smaller cargo space on the rear than the Rogue.
Should speculations be true, then Nissan would be able to slot the Qashqai between the Juke and the Rogue. Until now, there has been a gap between the Juke and Rogue. By introducing the Qashqai to North American customers, Nissan could effectively bridge this gap between the smaller Juke and the larger Rogue.Read the entire article 2018 Nissan Qashqai is speculated to debut at 2017 Detroit Auto Show
Driving on well-paved roads is pretty easy, especially if you are behind the wheel of a new Nissan X-Trail. Managing through some rough roads and rugged terrain would not be as easy, but the Nissan X-Trail should still be able to pull through. But, how about driving on a desert?
Sure enough, driving on a desert is not an easy thing to accomplish. It is basically because the desert is literally filled with sand. Traction, handling and steering are different when one is on the desert. Pushing the brakes too hard or slamming hard on the accelerator could push the tires into the sand. There is also the challenge of managing through giant sand dunes. Essentially, the fear of driving on the desert is related to getting stuck in the sand.
But this is not a concern with this Nissan X-Trail on the video. This Nissan X-Trail is not your ordinary X-Trail. After all, it is the Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior, which as its name indicates, is all-set and prepped to bring the driving battle to the desert. Obviously, this Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior features no wheels. It is fitted with a set of probably customized metal tracks that allow the Nissan X-Trail Desert Warrior to traverse the sandy desert sans any major difficulties. While there are tires suitable for challenging the desert, these metal tracks are more suitable in gaining better traction, improving handling and enhancing steering.Read the entire article Nissan X-Trail battles the desert with this red Desert Warrior version [w/video]
Nissan responds to the increasing demand for the Rogue in the U.S. by tapping its Japanese plants to add 100,000 units to its annual output starting next year. This gives Nissan the capacity to sell more than 300,000 units of the compact crossovers in the U.S., which is slightly higher than half of what it sold only a couple of years ago. Sources also revealed other changes to the Rogue lineup.
They said that a hybrid version will be introduced in 2016. Meanwhile, the European Qashqai crossover will be sold in the U.S. as a more compact and more frugal version of the Rogue. Nissan will drop the cheaper Rogue Select. The European Qashqai has many similarities with the Rogue and is built on the same architecture but it is shorter than the American Rogue by 10 inches.
Its wheelbase is also 2 inches shorter. The Qashqai has a smaller rear cargo space than the Rogue but its rear design is more stylish. It’s not clear what powertrain will be used by the U.S. Qashqai. But a British car-buying website revealed that Nissan's European business unit had newly given the Qashqai a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that produces about 53 U.S. mpg.Read the entire article Nissan to offer the Qashqai in the United States as a smaller Rogue
Nissan is expecting to double sales of the third-generation X-Trail in Europe and Russia to 80,000 units after endowing it with a less rugged design and a front-wheel-drive option. Timothee Fondeur, the X-Trail's project manager for Europe, told Automotive News Europe that the carmaker is confident of doubling sales of the X-Trail in Europe and Russia.
Nissan will start sales of the SUV in July. To boost sales of the X-Trail in Europe, Nissan did not seek a replacement for a seven-seat variant of its Qashqai crossover, which means that the SUV is now the brand’s only SUV with optional seven seats.
Nissan also introduced a front-wheel-drive variant, which it expects to account for half of the sales in Europe. The carmaker plans to sell in all western Europe countries the third-generation X-Trail powered by a 130hp 1.6-liter diesel engine emitting around 20 percent less carbon dioxide than the previous 2.0-liter diesel engine.Read the entire article Nissan expects to sell 80,000 new X-Trails in Europe and Russia

Nissan is considering a plan to build a sportier version of its Qashqai compact crossover that will target the Range Rover Evoque. Marco Fioravanti, Nissan Europe's general manager for product planning and strategy, remarked that the coupe-styled version of the Qashqai could capture the attention of consumers in Europe where crossover coupes have become popular thanks to the Evoque.
"We are observing the moves of other automakers such as Audi, Honda and Volvo. We will not stand watching," Fioravanti remarked during a press event for the new Qashqai in Madrid, Spain. A source has confirmed to Automotive News Europe that Nissan is mulling a coupe-styled Qashqai.
Fioravanti said that the Japanese carmaker will not build a Qashqai hybrid version. "Our traditional engines have excellent fuel consumption, “he said. “We want to keep a high 'value for money' formula on the Qashqai."Read the entire article Nissan may release a coupe version of Qashqai to take on the Evoque
Nissan's Europe chief Trevor Mann is confident that the second-generation Qashqai crossover will equal the success of the previous model. Mann told Automotive News Europe in an interview that he expects annual sales of around 200,000 Qashqais in Europe. But, IHS Automotive is skeptical of his numbers.
"We forecast the numbers will fall on competition and the rollout of the [Nissan] X-Trail," IHS senior analyst Ian Fletcher said. The newer and bigger X-Trail SUV will offer a seven-seat configuration for the first time, replacing the already terminated seven-seat Qashqai+2. Also, the market for crossovers in Europe has expanded significantly since Nissan launched the Qashqai in 2007.
Likewise, other carmakers are offering new crossovers that are smaller and less expensive than the Qashqai. Add that to the fact the Nissan Juke may also affect sales of the Qashqai.Read the entire article 2014 Nissan Qashqai predicted to match success of previous model

To mark the Qashqai Premier Limited Edition’s exclusivity, each vehicle will carry its own numbered badge, guaranteeing each owner a place in Nissan history as one of the very first owners of the new Qashqai, which was unveiled just two weeks ago, revealing its bold design and advanced premium technology.
The number of Nissan Qashqai Premier Limited Edition to be built is a reference to the year when the original vehicle was produced – in 2007, which also marked the arrival of the first mass market crossover.Read the entire article Nissan is offering Qashqai Premier Limited Edition until end of 2013

Nissan introduced the all-new X-Trail/Rogue at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. This marks the global debut of the 2014 X-Trail. It doesn’t anymore appear as rugged as the former model as its styling is more upscale and includes a set of modern 19-inch alloys, sculptured muscular lines, and "boomerang" taillights.
Nissan said that the models with higher specs will receive full LED headlights with daytime running lights as soon as the car starts selling in the first quarter of 2014. Its interior cabin consists of a combination of chrome, metal and piano black finishes.
It uses a seating arrangement inspired by the theatre. Nissan also offers the option of adding two more seats for a seven-seat layout. Nissan vows to endow the second-generation Qashqai compact crossover with innovative new looks when it rolls the model out early 2014. Andy Palmer, Nissan’s global head of product planning, told Automotive News Europe that changing the looks of the Qashqai comes with a risk, noting that “if you're a leader in a segment, I think you should innovate."
With the disclosure, the second-generation Qashqai would sport major differences with the current model, Palmer said. Nissan provided a glimpse of its future plans for the crossover segment with the Resonance Concept it unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January 2013. Nissan says the Resonance concept is meant to be “provocative, energetic and engaging – even polarizing.”
The carmaker said the concept’s “edgy yet sophisticated design” provides a clear view into the future of crossover innovation. Nissan plans to unveil the new-generation Qashqai in November 2013, with production planned to commence in December, a spokesman disclosed.Read the entire article 2014 Nissan Qashqai to have innovative new looks
