Tesla has just updated their online configurator for the Model 3, adding a number of new updates, and it seems like the $35,000 base model will arrive sooner than we expect to see it.
A couple of months back, we heard about all the issues regarding the Model 3’s production. And finally, Tesla is starting to deliver some of these vehicles. As a matter of fact, the automaker has already added the $35,000 base model as an option for “Early 2018” in their website. But knowing Tesla, early 2018 probably really means mid to late 2018 - though it still got us a bit excited.
If you are one of the lucky ones that received the invite to configure your Model 3, you would be able to get it for $49,000 instead of $44,000. But why, you ask? That is because Tesla is giving it a Long Range battery that costs $9,000. The Premium Upgrades package is also currently mandatory, adding another $5,000 to its price tag.Read the entire article You might want to check out Tesla Model 3’s new online configurator
The charm of Tesla Motors’ vehicle offering lies in the fact that they offer a high level of performance with zero emissions. However, Tesla also wants its cars to be remembered as some of the safest vehicles in the automotive world. Just recently, Tesla is claiming that its Model 3 midsize sedan offers the best chance for passengers to avoid serious injury in case of a collision.
On its Twitter account, Tesla said its Model 3 boasts of having the lowest probability of causing injury of all cars that the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has ever tested. Tesla noted that the Model 3 managed to receive a perfect 5-star safety rating in all categories – including sub-categories. Tesla had previously boasted that they expect the new Model 3 to have the lowest probability of personal injury than any other car.
The carmaker went on to say that the Tesla Model S electric sedan and the Tesla Model X electric crossover ranked second and third, respectively, on the list of cars with lowest probability of causing passenger injury as tested by the NHTSA.Read the entire article Tesla claims Model 3 is the safest car ever after getting perfect 5 stars from NHTSA
Just last month, Aston Martin took the veil off the all-new DBS Superleggera, the British carmaker’s latest V12-powered flagship that marries the dynamics and athleticism of a supercar and the luxurious refinement of a GT. If you are interested in personalizing your own DBS Superleggera without visiting the nearest Aston Martin showroom, then this online configurator is a great help.
The configurator for the Aston Martin took the veil off the all-new DBS Superleggera will prove to be a great aid for interested buyers to ensure that their new super GT is up to their own taste and preferences. Nonetheless, with a starting price of $304,995, the DBS Superleggera isn't that accessible; it is an extraordinary car with extraordinary price. Thus, the online configurator could also serve as a big fan-service to enthusiasts who admire the new DBS Superleggera but whose pockets aren’t deep enough to afford one.
The online configurator for the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera allows one to choose from two color palettes: the typical range of colors from Aston Martin, and the selection of shades exclusive to the Q by Aston Martin service. Since electric vehicles are becoming more popular, and are also becoming more viable for long distance trips, car enthusiasts would try and push the limits of what their cars are capable of on a single charge. Two men in Denver decided to take out the Tesla Model 3 over the weekend to drive it, and after 32 hours, they celebrated victory. However, that’s all their car can do.
EV aficionados have this term they use, “hypermiling”, to describe the idea of them getting the most juice out of their car’s battery, though efficient driving on a forgiving route. The guys we mentioned earlier were Sean M. Mitchell and Erik Strait, who set out on Friday to firmly beat the previous hypermiling record on a closed loop near the Denver Airport. The loop was about a mile in distance, and featured an elevation change of only 10 feet, while the two drove at speeds between 20 and 30 miles per hour.
Tesla rates the Model 3’s range between 220 and 310 miles on a single charge, but the two guys hoped they could reach 600 miles. So what they did was they live-streamed their circuitous journey on Youtube, interacted with those who commented, caught Chipotle burritos in a fishing net and were able to go past their goal 32 hours later.Read the entire article Tesla Model 3’s crazy new record is 606.2 miles
On its website, BMW is offering customers the chance to configure how they would want their X2 to look.
As a start, all X2 versions will be fitted with the alloy 18-inch wheels. On the inside, offerings include an infotainment system, 7-speaker audio, leatherette seat, and even climate control. The price tag is $38,400, which excludes the destination and handling fee of $995. This remains to be more expensive though than the X1 with similar features. It is even more expensive than the GLA 250 4Matic from Mercedes-Benz. However, it is cheaper by $9,200, compared to the X4.Read the entire article BMW allows customers to create their X2 using its online configurator
We are very much aware of the Lamborghini Urus’ powerful engine that produces an impressive 650 horsepower (484 kilowatts) and 627 pound feet (850 Newton metres) of torque. Thanks to its 4.0 liter biturbo V8, it can do the 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) sprint in as little as 3.59 seconds, before continuing to its maximum speed of 186 miles per hour (300 kilometers per hour).
Here’s the thing, with the massive six-digit price tag the SUV comes with, not a lot of people can afford to get their hands on one. And that is why Lamborghini came up with this solution. Nope, they are not lowering the price of the Urus, but instead, they have opened up the online configurator to the mass market, so everyone could have a chance to build the perfect Urus for themselves in the virtual world, without having to shell out a single dollar. The only difference is that they won’t be able to drive their creation.
The configurator will let customers choose from a total of 13 colour options including standard and metallic finishes - from Nero Noctis, Giallo Auge, to Grigio Nimbus and Bianco Icarus.Read the entire article 2019 Lamborghini Urus online configurator now available
Truth be told, the Tesla Model 3 doesn’t have a complete software and user interface when the California-based electric carmaker commences deliveries in July. However, this didn’t worry Tesla Model 3 owners, as they know that Tesla will sooner or later keep its four-door electric sedan to date through over-the-air updates. Now, the latest software update endows the EV with a number of new – yet very basic – features.
The latest update for the Model 3 has been eagerly anticipated as Tesla has been updating its software since commencing deliveries for the electric sedan. When it was first rolled out, the Model 3 didn’t have features that are usually installed or fitted as standard even in the most basic vehicles, including affordable ones. The software for the Model 3 is basically incomplete, so it didn’t have those basic features.
For instance, the latest software update now provides the Model 3 with the FM radio feature. This puzzled many, considering that the Tesla Model 3 should be one of the most advanced vehicles in the market and yet it didn’t have an FM radio. A video of one of the first deliveries in Texas showed that a radio – a very basic feature – doesn’t come with Model 3.Read the entire article FM radio and odometer finally find their way into the new Tesla Model 3

While Tesla Motors continues to struggle with regards to the assembly of its much awaited Tesla Model 3, investment firm Oppenheimer & Co. is confident that its previous production estimates of the mid-size all-electric sedan would still be reached by the end of 2017.
There is no denying that Tesla is still ramping up production of the new Model 3, but previous reports had indicated that production woes have been bugging the electric carmaker. In its previous estimates, Oppenheimer said Tesla would be able to produce 3,005 units of the Model 3 in 2017. Considering reports that Tesla managed to deliver more than 200 units of the Model 3 sedan in the third quarter, the company would have to deliver around 2,800 examples of its newest offering in the current quarter covering October, November and December 2017.
While Tesla hasn’t updated its delivery guidance, Oppenheimer is expecting the carmaker to deliver 100,056 vehicles in 2017 – encompassing all its offerings like the Model S, Model X and Model 3. Tesla is aiming to produce around 5,000 vehicles per week in December.Read the entire article Tesla is expected to deliver 3,005 Model 3 units by end of 2017
Social Capital CEO Chamath Palihapitiya has presumed the entire (BMW 3 Series) business will “go to zero” judging by the number of pre-orders made for Tesla Model 3. Appearing on CNBC’s Fast Money Half Time Report, Palihapitiya claims that orders for the 3 Series are already being hit significantly by Tesla’s more affordable EV, adding that people do not know anything about the level of demand surrounding the popular Tesla Model. Adam Jones of Morgan Stanley has opposed the claim, citing both political and international contexts to the businesses.
Palihapitiya is a former member of Facebook’s senior executive team and has just attended the 2017 Delivering Alpha conference in New York last September 12. Earlier this week, the investment analyst pointed out there is not one person in his right mind who would choose BMW 3 Series over Tesla.
Despite this, BMW i3 has received a makeover in the hopes of competing with Tesla’s long ranging, lower priced sedan. The revamped i3 will be featuring a host of optional driver assistance technologies including adaptive cruise control though we know it won’t make the range any better. Like before, the i3 can only run up to 160 kilometers per charge plus it comes with an extended range of about 290 km. In contrast, the Tesla Model 3 boasts a range that goes somewhere between 350km and 500km.Read the entire article Investment analyst foresees Tesla Model 3 market domination over BMW 3 Series
A lot of gearheads we know enjoy tweaking their cars to make them look and perform like the dream car they cannot afford. There is nothing wrong with that though. And recently, BMW has launched the online configurator of the brand-new M5.
You’re probably wondering what’s available on the website. Well, first of all, there is a function where you can check out the car in 360-degrees - allowing you to check it out from all angles. Usually, online configurators would lead you to a page where you can pick your engine and transmission. But for the BMW M5 (F90), the only option is a 4.4 liter twin turbocharged V8, paired with an eight-speed automatic that will work with the company’s new xDrive all-wheel drive system. This engine carries out as much as 600 horsepower. Having only one engine option may not be the best thing the company has done.
Next comes the fun part, customers will be able to choose from a wide array of colour options, including some new ones for the F90-generation M5. Some of the interesting colours include Snapper Rocks Blue or Marina Bay Blue Metallic. We’re curious about how the former would look on the M5. Other colours include the Donington Grey and the Bluestone Metallic.Read the entire article 2018 BMW M5 (F90) online configurator is now up on German site for every fan’s enjoyment

Last July 28, Elon Musk held a special event for the first 30 customers of the Tesla Model 3. The Model 3 is the company’s first mass-produced vehicle and is also their most affordable model. The reason why only 30 units were delivered that day is because production is currently moving slow for the Californian automaker. However, they did say that production will hike up exponentially. But even after saying that, car owners who order one today won’t get their Model 3 until 12 to 18 months after.
Here is the thing, not everybody is that patient or can wait that long for a car to be delivered to their garage, so a lot of these people cancelled their pre-orders. As of now, there have been around 63,000 cancellations that were made by customers, according to Elon Musk as he revealed this during their quarterly earning call. All in all, reservations for the Tesla Model 3 have gone down from 518,000 to 455,000.
Musk further added that the cancellations were recorded in the span of over a year. Having said that, Tesla does not seem to be very much affected by the cancellations. In fact, the company feels more relieved probably because there is less pressure put on them. Musk even compared themselves to a restaurant, saying that if people queue up for a hamburger when there is already an hour and a half wait, there’s really no reason to attract more customers.Read the entire article Tesla Model 3 cancellations exceed 63,000 units but Musk thinks it is inconsequential
Tesla was able to keep its promise of offering the Model 3 for the affordable starting price of $35,000, but there’s a treat available for those who want more features and have money to spare. In fact, the top-of-the-line Model 3 costs just $59,500. This is quite a relief for those who find the entry level Model S’ $69,500 too high-priced.
The Standard Model 3, which packs about 220 miles of range, boasts a 130mph top speed and the ability to take only 5.6 seconds to sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour. On charging, the base model gets at least 130 miles of range per 30 minutes using Tesla’s Supercharger while the 240V home outlet with 32A gives about 30 miles of range per hour.
Since the most affordable model won’t be ready until the following year, Tesla buyers for the meantime might need to shift their attention to the Long Range trim option that sells for about $44,000. The slightly higher price can be attributed to its 300 miles of range, 5.1 seconds quicker acceleration and 140mph top speed. More than that, the Long Range also gets to charge faster than the base model with up to 37 miles of range per hour on a 240V home charger and 170 miles of range per 30 minutes on a 480V charging station.Read the entire article Top-ranging Tesla Model 3 is not bad at all for $59,500
Definitely, the powertrain is considered as the heart of any vehicle. Without this propulsion system, a vehicle is as good as a dead block on the road. At Tesla Motors, the electric powertrain is basically the lifeline of its vehicles, including the newly launched Tesla Model 3. As to how durable the electric powertrain in the new Model 3 would be, Tesla’s chief executive Elon Musk has the answer.
According to Car Advice, Musk remarked during the global launch of the first Model 3 production vehicles in Fremont, California, that the next generation powertrains found in the Model 3 are designed to go for “a million miles between services.” Musk’s statement shows how confident Tesla’s top honcho is about the durability and longevity of the new powertrain used in the new Model 3.
The powertrain of the new Model 3 – including its electric motors, battery pack and drivetrain – is completely new when compared to the ones employed in the Tesla Model S and Model X. Musk firmly believes that the powertrain of the new Model 3 would need little maintenance in the future. The new Tesla Model 3 comes with a four-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty.Read the entire article Tesla Model 3 powertrain will need very little maintenance, could travel a million miles before servicing
Tesla Motors has finally commenced delivery of its new Tesla Model 3 electric luxury sedan. While Tesla is still basking over the hot reception for its newest model that is underpinned by its new third-generation platform, there are already inquiries whether the carmaker is planning to release a performance version of the Model 3.
Just days after the official market launch of the Model 3, someone dared to ask no other than Tesla’s chief executive Elon Musk about whether a performance version of the new electric sedan is on the way, noting that the top honcho mentioned this in 2016.
Musk, as engaging as he is in social media, was kind enough to answer the inquiry, saying that a performance variant of the Tesla Model 3 would arrive probably in the middle of the year. Musk added that the carmaker’s focus right now is to be done with the Tesla Model 3 production. He then noted that more versions of the Model 3 would sink the electric carmaker into deeper hell.Read the entire article Elon Musk confirms performance version for new Tesla Model 3

Last July 3rd, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors announced on Twitter that the first 30 Tesla Model 3s will be delivered earlier to customers earlier than they have expected. He even added that the first ever model will be ready on Friday, July 7th.

Unsurprisingly, the new owner of the #0001 is the CEO himself. He did explain that to get the rights to have the first model, you have to be the first person to make a full deposit. He also told the Brad Sams, the guy that asked who the lucky owner of the Model 3 is, that it was Ira Ehrenpreis who had the rights as he was the very first person who paid the full deposit.
