According to reports, McLaren, who recently has just released the 720S supercar, is already working on a variant of the supercar. During the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the company had recently announced that they are currently developing a Long Tail (LT) version of the McLaren 720S.
McLaren’s “675LT was a huge success” according to CEO Mike Flewitt, so he thought that launching another Long Tail will have great potential to be a hit, as the LT brand has already been recognized by people after the 675LT. And they know what to expect from it.
The 720S, weighing just about 2,800 pounds due to its carbon fiber body, with 710 horsepower is already so light and fast, considering its 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine. So what more can we expect from the upcoming 720S LT? Expect to be blown away. There are rumors that the LT version will have even more power, better driving dynamics, and will weigh even less - just like the 675LT.Read the entire article Very powerful McLaren 720S Long Tail (LT) will be going up against the Huracan Performante
Exactly one year ago on March 6th, Lamborghini decided to finally reveal the Huracan Performance at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This year, the automaker decided to get rid of the coupe’s roof for the same event that is held yearly in Switzerland. The Spyder pretty much has everything you would want in the fixed roof model, but only this model can pull off this type of body style, with the open top.
Even with the company’s same Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), the soft top Spyder has not been hampered in any way. The reason for the ALA is for it to create the sleekest body possible and consequently boost performance. The droptop Huracan also borrowed the coupe’s revised four-wheel drive system, along with an upgraded suspension and the optimized stability control.
Aside from that, Lamborghini’s engineers gave the droptop a lot of forged carbon fiber bits to cut down a total of 35 kilograms (77 pounds) over the standard Huracan Spyder, while also fiddling with its steering. The model now weighs 1,507 kilograms (3,322 pounds) when dry - distributed 43:57 front/rear. The fabric roof can then be lowered at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour (50 kilometers per hour).Read the entire article Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder arrives in style
McLaren has already shown some interest in electrifying their models. And initially, we thought that they will just use hybrid systems to use across their current lineup. Nevertheless, we have learned that they are actually planning something much bigger and one that’s quite unexpected.
Not so long ago, McLaren unveiled the 720S which changed the image of the British automaker. As we know, it will have a more upscale look, a stronger engine, and a lighter chassis. But this is just the beginning of the company’s transition to brighter future. It has been reported that the company has been developing a pure electric sports car which will be released in a few years, confirming what was rumoured last June.
Autocar reports that the electric sports car will have a performance similar to that of the 675LT, and will be one of McLaren’s range-topping Ultimate Series of vehicles like the P1. Since it is still under development, there is still no schedule as to when the model will come out. But it’s likely to arrive after the P15 and BP23, which are scheduled to both make their debut in 2018. The P15 will be the second Ultimate Series model after the P1 that had already been sold out.Read the entire article McLaren plans an electric sports car that will be like the 675LT
Having a full list of MSO options is certainly one of the modern miracles in the world of after-market tuning. That said, there’s a McLaren 675LT Spider with MSO upgrades currently on sale at McLaren Scottsdale. For $487,572, the 675LT Spider features Mercedes Benz’s Flintgrau Metallic paint with MSO’s front splitter, rear diffuser, rear bumper, hood and side skirts all made with carbon fiber. In addition, the airbrakes, roof and hood have been painted off with a pair of racing stripes in Cerberus Pearl.
With this many MSO options, the one listed here may not even be the highest priced McLaren 675LT but it surely is one of a kind. We say this because a whole other range of MSO upgrades could be seen throughout the exterior. For example, there’s a new set of wheels in bronze with brake calipers in signature McLaren Orange. It also boasts a satin blue carbon fiber paddle shifts and a 24 carat gold heat shield throughout the exhausts.
Inside, the MSO specced 675LT Spider comes with a unique combination of carbon black leather and Alcantra fabric with a touch of Midnight Blue to highlight the accents. To create a connection with the exterior motif, the seat belts feature the same McLaren Orange just as the one painted on the brake calipers. All in, this entire set would typically cost you more than $90,000, which we think isn’t bad for a car bearing the Speedy Kiwi “swoosh” logo to start with.Read the entire article You can own this McLaren 675LT Spider with MSO specifications for less than $500,000
Seven Car Lounge has released its very own bespoke version of the McLaren 675LT. Located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this dealership is known for its exotic and rare models. For this version, the company used a royal blue shade on the exterior of this supercar and then put in a yellow racing stripe having white borders as contrast.
Other features of this customized version include the use of carbon fiber on the bumper in the front, the front splitter, and the wing mirrors. Carbon fiber also dominates the rear section. On the inside, the leather comfort seats are pretty clear. There are also various carbon accents as well as blue stitching. Additionally, the paddle shifter comes in black.
The blue, yellow, and white theme brings to mind the models owned by celebrated Instagrammer Azzurrodino. In particular, Azzurrodino has Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster, Ferrari F40, and a LaFerrari, all having the same theme.Read the entire article Seven Car Lounge reveals McLaren 675LT in Azzurrodino
You might think that the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Coupe looks impressive. But have you imagined it without a roof? Yes, as a convertible. The fastest car to lap the Nurburging, the Huracan Performante, has been rendered, sans roof - and it looks insanely beautiful.
Just after publishing his rendering of the facelifted Porsche 918 Spyder, Aksyonov Nikita is back at it with the open-top Huracan Performante Spyder he posted on Behance. In the rendering, the car was illustrated without a roof, but even with its cloth top, it will definitely look as gorgeous. Since the roadster has sleek lines, the design naturally blends in with the convertible layout effortlessly.
Though photos and videos of Lamborghini’s Huracan Performante have been taken while it was out on the Nurburging being tested, the prototype is still wrapped in its camouflage, so we still can’t tell how it looks, but it will definitely get a folding soft-top. Just like the coupe, the Performante Spyder will be equipped with a potent 5.2 liter V10 engine that can produce a whopping 630 horsepower (470 kilowatts) and 443 pound-feet (600 Newton-metres) of torque.Read the entire article Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder rendered
It was in early March of this year when the brand revealed that this model managed to get that achievement and as proof, it released a video showing the telemetry. While fans were happy with the achievement, there were some who questioned if indeed the record was real.
According to blog BridgetoGantry.com, the speedometer may have not have received the wheel speed but rather the GPS data, which is considered by some as less precise. What the website did was to compare the speedometer of the Huracan Performante with that of the Aventador SV. The website also said that looking at the video, it appeared that the brand had increased the frame rate by as much as 5%. There were also those who supported Lamborghini like Chris Harris of Top Gear who said that while the video may have been edited, it is possible that the lap time is real.Read the entire article Lamborghini offers proof of Huracan Performante record run at Nürburgring
The Geneva International Motor Show has always been a favorite event for carmakers to show off their highly powered supercars.
In the past years, some of the most prominent supercars unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show are the 759-hp Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 and the 1,479-hp Bugatti Chiron.
Now, the 87th edition of the Geneva Motor Show this year is no exception, as major carmakers are also strutting their supercar offerings – in production or in concept. Here are some of them.Read the entire article Top 5 supercars from the 2017 Geneva Motor Show
The 2017 Geneva Motor Show has long been the site where great models are first shown and this year's show is no different. Automobili Lamborghini has revealed the Huracan Perfomante, a model that boasts active aerodynamics with aero vectoring as well as makes use of lightweight technologies. In addition, the brand enhanced the powertrain while putting in an all-wheel-drive system and even a new chassis configuration.
One feature is that the body of the Huracán Performante makes use of aluminum mixed with Forged Composite. Because the Forged Composite was able to use chopped carbon fibers for the resin, it resulted in creating the complex and lightweight geometric shapes that would not have been possible if the usual carbon fiber materials were used.
The Forged Composite was used in different parts that included the spoiler in the front and the rear section, the engine bonnet, the aerodynamic diffuser, and even the bumper in the rear. The result is that the brand was able to lower the overall weight by 40 kilograms.Read the entire article 2017 Geneva: Lamborghini Huracan Performante is the ultimate road car
Retired Formula 1 driver Jenson Button has just received his brand new McLaren MSO 675LT Spider. This was confirmed after McLaren Beverly Hills posted a picture on its official Instagram account. There must be a sentimental reason why he chose the new MSO among other high performance cars. It must have something to do with the fact that Button drove a McLaren-Honda in last year’s F1 world championship.
There have been no reports yet on what the 2009 F1 champion plans for his immediate future. Since he has retired, it’s likely that he must’ve bought the 675LT for his own personal use and enjoyment. He had owned 12Cs and 650S in the past but this new Spider surpasses all of them when it comes to performance and price. His Longtail comes with special MSO finishing, which includes black alloy wheels with five spoke design as well as brake calipers of the same color.
Earlier reports revealed that a McLaren 675LT Spider with MSO paint would cost you an additional $60,000. That’s merely for the paint job. There is also this $12,000 color coded key fobs that come separately.Read the entire article Jenson Button now the proud owner of a new McLaren MSO 675LT Spider
The newest version of the Lamborghini Huracan is not a Superleggera, but a Performante. When Lamborghini filed for a patent for a new name, there were still debates whether this would be for a Superleggera or a Performante. Now, we know it is for the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
As its name indicates, the focus of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante is all about performance. While the Huracan Performante is lighter than a typical Huracan by around 90 lbs (40 kg), the weight saved wasn’t that great as the development didn’t focus on making the supercar as light as possible.
Hence, Lamborghini opted to baptize this Huracan as a Performante, instead of Superleggera (which is the Italian term for “super light”). A performance version of a Lamborghini Huracan is clearly at another level, considering that this supercar is already a true performer on the road.Read the entire article Lamborghini Huracan Performante: new details revealed
McLaren has finally shown some images for its MSO Carbon Series LT. If you can recall, the limited edition model was only revealed earlier this year. Since then, the Carbon Series LT sold out quickly after the British car manufacturer has allotted only 25 units for production. Or it could be because McLaren dressed up the usual 675LT with 40% more carbon fibre. Either way, we’re not at all surprised.
The limited version features a 666 hp, 3.8 litre twin turbo engine to begin with. Besides the devil’s 3-digit code, the car also boasts up to 516 pound feet of torque. This makes it go all the way from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. If that’s not enough, wait ‘til you see its top speed reach up to 200mph.
Although the company hasn’t released the full price details for the McLaren Special Operations Carbon Series LT, we’re expecting it to cost more than £285,450. That is if we have to consider the 675LT Spider’s already expensive price tag. Of course the use of carbon fiber for its entire body certainly comes with a price.Read the entire article McLaren flaunts its MSO Carbon Series LT with new pictures
Many had wished that a Lamborghini Huracán Superleggera would somehow make a surprise debut at the recently held Paris Motor Show. Sadly, not a single Lamborghini appeared anywhere in sight. Much to everyone’s dismay, we are still hoping to see one in the next several months or probably at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March. While waiting for this to happen, allow us to share what we just found out.
Though there are no official announcements (yet) regarding the launching of a Lamborghini Huracán Superleggera, we are quite positive that things are likely heading this way. The spy pictures are literally everywhere. Only recently, the Italian automaker has also filed for a trademark in Europe and is probably for the new Lamborghini Huracán Performante. Although the trademark description has not been disclosed, the filing was placed under paper goods, toys, clothing, electronics and vehicles.
What we have at the moment are pictures of the Gallardo Spyder Performante, which we think will look brilliant if Lamborghini will come up with a possible combination of Spyder and Superleggera for the same. If the recently trademarked vehicle will follow Gallardo’s footprint, it would definitely be an awesome combination, don’t you think?Read the entire article Lamborghini trademarks the Huracan Performante, might just be the Superleggera Spyder
