Polestar 1 will cost up to $177,000

After the highly dynamic Polestar 1 two-door coupe – Polestar’s first ever production car -- was recently unveiled, not a few people’s curiosity was piqued as to how much they should shell out to purchase a unit of this 600-hp four-seater hybrid coupe. Sorry to say, but Polestar isn't planning to sell its first production model in a conventional manner. Not yet at least.

According to Polestar’s plan, customers could get hold of its Polestar 1 performance coupe only through its subscription plan. This means that no one will be able to buy the Polestar 1 coupe, but instead they have to become subscribers to the company’s plan. The subscription plan is good for two to three years. Once the subscription period has expired, a subscriber has to return the Polestar 1 to the company, or its representatives would knock on his or garage to pick up the performance coupe.

As for the returned model, it would be refurbished to return it to its near-pristine state, and would then be made available as a pre-owned model also through a subscription plan.

Volvo C30 Polestar to cost $32,445 in the United States

Volvo will release a new C30 Polestar edition model in the U.S. that costs $32,445. The interest for the Volvo C30 hatchback failed to match the popularity of the newer S60 compact sports sedan but this special edition model is expected to have a better showing. Volvo will offer only 250 units in the U.S. It will arrive in dealerships this November.

Volvo will be introducing a C30 hatch variant that gets a boost in power to 250hp. This car will arrive at showrooms this November. It will have a starting price of $32,445. As is typical of a Polestar-edition Volvo, the special C30 hatch delivers 250hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, standing for a boost of 23 hp and 37 lb-ft, due to the improved airflow in the combustion chambers and advancing spark timing.

During testing, the long-term 2008 Volvo C30 equipped with the stock turbocharged 2.5-liter I-5 engine and a five-speed automatic could accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and could attain the quarter-mile mark in 15.5 seconds at 94 mph. Volvo said that the C30 Polestar edition offers the same standard EPA fuel economy estimates of 21/29 mpg city/highway with the six-speed manual and 21/30 mpg with the five-speed automatic.

Facelifted Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster now available to order

The new Audi TT RS – yes, the top version of the German carmaker’s facelifted TT model series – is now officially here. If you could remember, the range-topping TT RS Coupe and Roadster were visually absent when Audi unveiled the facelifted TT model series in July 2018. That got some worried, so Audi is allaying those worries.

As introduced by the brand with the Four Rings, the latest iteration of the Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster boasts of completely redrawn front end. However, most of us won't be able to distinguish the newest TT RS models from their predecessors right away. It would take discerning eyes – especially those of Audi TT RS fans and enthusiasts – to know how the latest iterations differ visually from the previous model.

For instance, the lateral air intakes on the front bumper are now larger, each divided by vertical strips. In addition, the quattro logo -- in matt titanium-look – is located in the lower part of the gloss black grille that is surrounded by matt black Singleframe. The grille is flanked by LED headlights as standard, or by optional matrix LED units.

2019 Nissan Altima has a starting MSRP of $23,750 in the United States

Nissan is commencing sales of the 2019 Nissan Altima on October 3, 2018 in the United States. As expected, the Japanese carmaker has already divulged the details and specs of the Altima before its eventual launch. Equally important for customers is how much they should take out from their pockets just to be able to own a new Altima. Good thing is that Nissan has just disclosed the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for the new 2019 Altima.

The new 2019 Nissan Altima can be availed for at least $23,750. This is applicable to the S trim of the Altima with a 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine and a front-wheel drive system. This engine is standard on all grade levels of the Altima and delivers up to 188 hp of output and up to 180 lb.-ft. of torque – more than what the previous mill found in the midsize sedan. Moreover, the new 2.5-liter engine isn't just more refined and quieter, it also returns better fuel economy figures.

Nissan is also offering the Altima S in all-wheel drive configuration, bringing the MSRP up to $25,100, plus $895 in destination and handling.

After revealing the coupe version of the 2019 BMW 8 Series, the German premium carmaker is introducing its convertible version. The 2019 BMW 8 Series Convertible is essentially the Coupe with its roof chopped off, with some modifications made to make way for its electrically folding soft top. BMW will unveil the new 8 Series Convertible to the global public at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month.

In terms of appearance, the 2019 BMW 8 Series Convertible is almost identical to the 8 Series Coupe, aside from the fact that the latter’s hard top has been removed and replaced by an electrically folding soft top. This top can be fully deployed in just 15 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph (48 km/h). It takes the same amount of time and vehicle speed to remove the soft top down.

Once the soft is down, it is stowed underneath a rear deck which stitching is matched to the instrument panel and door panels. In addition, the cover for the 2019 BMW 8 Series Convertible comes with subtle nacelles evoking the double-bubble roof design of the Coupe. To ensure that less wind enters the cabin when the soft top is down, the 2019 BMW 8 Series Convertible comes fitted with standard wind deflector as located behind the front seats.

More than a year after introducing the widely acclaimed ATS GT prototype at the at the luxurious Salon Privé exhibit, Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) has finally presented the final and production version of the supercar – the new ATS GT Launch Edition -- at the prestigious 2018 Monterey Car Week at The Quail.

The ATS GT Launch Edition takes inspiration from the 1964 ATS 2500 GT, a small coupe designed by Franco Scaglione, developed by ATS co-founders Giotto Bizzarrini and Carlo Chiti, and built more than 50 years ago. Back then, ATS only built 12 examples of the 2500 GT. As it seeks to honor the original model, ATS is also building 12 examples of the new GT Launch Edition.

Designed by ATS chief designer Emanuele Bomboi, the new ATS GT Launch Edition boasts of an aerodynamic bodywork -- made of carbon fiber – that reinterprets the original design of the 2500 GT. It features unique side-blades and seemingly floating rear lights. These rear lights are designed to extract the hot air from the engine bay. The GT Launch Edition makes use of the company’s Sistema-Trio hand-welded titanium with mufflers.

Volvo’s performance brand, Polestar, is all-set to redefine the way people purchase their new vehicles. But even before it rolls out it this innovative brand and retail concept, Polestar is opening its very first showroom based on traditional network of dealerships. Its new showrooms – to be called as Polestar Spaces – will have it first brick-and-mortar location in Oslo, Norway. The Polestar Space in Oslo will commence its operations in the middle of 2019.

Thomas Ingenlath, chief executive of Polestar, called Polestar Spaces as a vital part of the brand’s customer experience, as it serves as the location where the carmaker physically meets its customers. The new Polestar Space will be found on Ovre Slottsgate in downtown Oslo, as located in a prominent retail environment along with other progressive brand stores.

Actually, the performance brand’s choice of location didn’t come as a surprise. Oslo is the capital city of Norway, where people are more likely to buy an electric vehicle instead of a conventionally powered one. The only hybrids that automotive customers can get now from Porsche are its Panamera four-door saloon and its Cayenne sports utility vehicle. While the German sports car maker has confirmed that it would build a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 sports car, that won't happen in the near term. For those who can’t wait for Porsche to offer a 911 hybrid, Vonnen Performance is offering to convert your sports car into one.

Porsche’s main reason for not offering a hybrid version of the 911 is that the German company still doesn’t believe that the current battery technology is on par with its expectations for its venerated sports car. But with the rapid pace that the battery technology is growing, that could happen in the next few years. Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume had said that a 911 hybrid may arrive on the mid-cycle refresh of the 992 generation, which should happen by around 2022 or so.

Because Porsche won't do a 911 hybrid now, Vonnen Performance is offering to do so for 911 models built between 2012 and 2016. This also applies for other Porsche offerings currently not having a hybrid version, like the Boxster and the Cayman. The conversion kit and the entire setup would cost a Porsche owner around $75,000.

Both the AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ coupe, the all-new AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ are powered by a dynamic core: a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine with EQ Boost that serves as a starter and an alternator. Nonetheless, the six-cylinder in-line engine sitting under the hood of the entry-level AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ is less powerful than the mill in the AMG GT 53 4MATIC+.

The 3.0-liter 6-cylinder in-line engine serving the AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ is tuned to deliver up to 270 kW (367 hp) of output and up to 500 Nm of torque available between 1,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm. This power level allows the AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ to sprint from nil to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 270 km/h. The Lancia Delta Futurista is derived from a 1989 Lancia Delta Integrale. Eugenio Amos and his company Automobili Amos embarked on a project to create a car that is “pure, analogic, raw, and essential,” in contrast to today’s vehicles that heavily employ computer.

Amos’ pet project employs the chassis of the 1989 Lancia Delta Integrale as the base. From there, the company worked to make the Delta Futurista stay faithful Lancia heritage in terms of overall. While keeping in line with Lancia’s iconic looks, the Delta Futurista has nearly everything updated. Amos called Delta Futurista as his “romantic vision,” as he has been in deep adoration with the original model since he was just seven years old.

When the seventh-generation 2019 Lexus ES was unveiled in China in April, the all-new premium sedan managed to draw attention from customers around the world. For customers in the United States who have been waiting for the next-gen ES sedan to arrive this September, Lexus has already released details over its pricing and fuel economy ratings.

At launch, the new 2019 Lexus ES will be available in three guises: the ES 350, the ES 300h and the ES 350 F Sport. For those who wanted to get the 2019 Lexus ES 350 for their garage, they have to shell out at least $39,500. This base price is around $550 pricier than the 2018 ES sedan. The customer will still have to pay $1,025 fee for delivery, processing and handling.

The new Lexus ES 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an updated D4-S fuel injection. This mill can deliver 302 hp of max output and 267 lb.-ft. of peak torque – or 34 hp and 19 lb.-ft. more powerful than the V6 engine of the previous generation. This new V6 engine is paired to a new eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission with an ultra-thin torque converter and a multi-plate lock up clutch.

Acura is rolling out this month the latest iteration of its mid-size three-row luxury sports utility vehicle – the 2019 Acura MDX. The sixth installment of Acura’s third-generation luxury SUV, the 2019 MDX boasts of enhancements in drivability and interior fitment as well as availability of new premium exterior colors and an A-Spec sport appearance package.

For the 2019 model year, the Acura MDX is still powered by a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine that delivers 290 hp of max output and 267 lb.-ft. of peak torque. As standard, the MDX comes as a front-wheel drive unit, although it could also be availed in SH-AWD (Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive) configuration. The 2018 Fiat 500 has arrived. The latest model will be getting a slight price hike. Of course, this comes with an updated look, some added tech, and a new turbocharged engine. The petite hatchback first made an appearance at the Chicago Auto Show, and this will go on sale later in the year. It will come with a new price tag of $16,245, which is $1,250 more than its price the year before.

The $16,245 MSRP is for the most affordable Pop trim, which comes with a manual (the automatic option with an extra $995). For the sake of comparison, the 2017 Fiat 500 Pop started at just $14,995. The Fiat 500 not only gets an increased range, but the entry level pricing has gone up as well. Also, there is a more expensive destination charge, now at $1,245.

Up next is the 500 Lounge. Buyers will need to be willing to spend $20,990, a whole $1,500 more than the previous year. Even the 500 Abarth gets an increase of $750, with a starting MSRP of $21,740. The base Fiat 500’s new asking price represents a 9.4 percent increase yearly, according to CarsDirect.
