Use the online configurator to mix and match options for your Porsche 911 R

At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche wowed car dealers, owners and enthusiasts with the newest addition to its line of sports cars – the Porsche 911 R. It was designed to showcase the traditional Porsche with a twist, depending on its owner. The 911 R is designed so that customers are given the opportunity to give their 911 Rs a personal touch. Before we discuss the different ways of how you can customize your own Porsche 911 R, let us first look into the things that set it apart from other sports cars. The new Porsche 911 R still comes in the classic 911 appearance but with the GT motor racing technology.

Just like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the 911 R is powered by a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine and was developed in the Porsche Motorsport workshop. It can provide a maximum output of 500 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and a peak torque of 460 Nm at 6,250 rpm; these allow the 911 R to hit 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds only.

Furthermore, the Porsche 911 R has an estimated top speed of 201 mph. No bad, huh? The Porsche 911 R is offered with a six-speed manual sports transmission only and no automatic transmissions for this vehicle. For it to be a more interactive and responsive experience, the 911 R features a short gearshift travel. It also features an NEDC fuel consumption of 21.2 mpg or 13.3 liters per 100 kilometers. How efficient is that?

Porsche makes a move to try and stop 911 R flippers

We are pretty much aware that a lot of people purchase limited run cars to sell them for double or triple the price. And this always happens with whatever brand you can think of. One of the models that have been flipped by resellers is the limited-run 911 R.

And as a response to this, the man in charge of the Porsche 911 recently admitted that they came out with the GT3 Touring package at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show in September to target resellers who have been flipping their cars.

If you are a huge fan of the Porsche 911, you probably know that the original retail price of the R is $185,000. But since there are only 991 examples of this made, making it extra rare, resellers had the chance to skyrocket the prices. In fact, there are 911 Rs out there that are still up for grabs, only they cost $1.25 million now. Of course, any automaker who took their time, effort, and sweat into developing these cars would not be happy to hear this news, and that is why they came out with the Touring Pack for the 911 GT3.

You might want to check out Tesla Model 3’s new online configurator

Tesla has just updated their online configurator for the Model 3, adding a number of new updates, and it seems like the $35,000 base model will arrive sooner than we expect to see it.

A couple of months back, we heard about all the issues regarding the Model 3’s production. And finally, Tesla is starting to deliver some of these vehicles. As a matter of fact, the automaker has already added the $35,000 base model as an option for “Early 2018” in their website. But knowing Tesla, early 2018 probably really means mid to late 2018 - though it still got us a bit excited.

If you are one of the lucky ones that received the invite to configure your Model 3, you would be able to get it for $49,000 instead of $44,000. But why, you ask? That is because Tesla is giving it a Long Range battery that costs $9,000. The Premium Upgrades package is also currently mandatory, adding another $5,000 to its price tag.

Any car that has been finished in Acid Green will definitely catch the attention of even the most distracted individual. So if it’s your goal to turn people’s heads, then this should be the right colour choice for you. And while there are other automakers that offer a shocking green paint finish, Porsche does a more dazzling job than any of them.

This was made possible by the Paint to Sample programme. We’re willing to bet that this photo does not give justice to the paint job as it’s said to be much more vivid in person. In fact, when comparing it to Lamborghini’s lime green, the latter looks very much subdued.

At the time of this writing, there are only two Porsche 918 Spyders that are painted in this particular hue, alongside a handful of other Porsche models, like that of the 911 R.

The updates take effect before the company's planned production of its $35k mass market Tesla Model 3. This gives us a glimpse of what the Model 3 will possibly look like.

The updated configurator provides you the options to choose between 75 and 100 kWh battery packs. It’s also apparent that it removed the 90kWh battery pack option that's scheduled for discontinuation this June 8. The American automaker indicates that the 75 (no all-wheel drive option) is the standard model. The 100D is appointed as the premium trim and the P100D is considered the performance model. Model S and Model X purchasers can opt for either a "standard" configuration with a 75kWh battery pack that can run 249 miles of range on the Model S and 237 miles on the Model X, or a premium configuration that uses Tesla's long range 100 kWh battery pack.

Model S is capable of 335 miles of range on the 100kWh pack and the Model X will definitely have 300 mile per single charge. Adrenaline lovers can now opt for a performance package that swaps driving range with increased acceleration. Only recently, the Tesla models will not be categorized by its battery size, as they will be classified by trim comparable to what conventional automakers do. As the American automaker is aiming for the mass production of the Tesla Model 3, it has had the opportunity to appreciate its simple system.

The American automotive company Karma Automotive has launched an online configurator for its brand new Revero -- the newest plug-in hybrid sedan influenced by the now obsolete Fisker Karma. Only recently, Karma Automotive announced that it will officially launch the Revero and it then released all the specifications of the plug-in hybrid, including an updated interior.

Karma Automotive will also kick-start its deliveries of the newest plug-in hybrid sedan later this month. The American automaker has secured its first television spot, which aired last weekend on CBS during the 2017 U.S. Open Polo Championship - wherein Karma Automotive was one of the sponsors of the held affair. In the ad called "Delivery", there were scenes of the Revero being shipped to California and Florida, so we can only assume that this is the beginning of the Karma takeover. Karma Automotive's Chief Revenue Officer Jim Taylor said in his speech that the spot symbolizes the rebirth of one of the most renowned silhouettes in automotive history. They felt that this moment in time deserved to be recognized.

New Karma Revero is the modernized version of the now defunct Fisher Karma plug-in hybrid vehicle. Produced in Finland, the Fisker Karma was considered a beautiful flop, with approximately 1,950 models sold before the Fisker Automotive went bankrupt. Afterwards, Wanxiang Group Corp which is based in China, purchased the company's remaining assets in 2014 for $149.2 million.
