Video: Watch this Porsche Carrera GT driver enjoy Nurburgring Nordschleife

Some people drive to reach other locations. Others drive to compete against fellow drivers. However, there are those who drive just to enjoy the thrill and dynamics or piloting a car, especially if it is a known exotic sports car with superb racing capabilities. More so, if the driver behind the steering wheel of a Porsche Carrera GT is on the famed road track of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Just recently, the world saw a video in which a Porsche Carrera GT was being driven around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. As we can see on the video, the driver was piloting the Porsche Carrera GT without having to worry about other cars on the course. He was not racing, although his Porsche Carrera GT is a race-bred car that could outpace and outrun vehicles on the road.

He was not there to break some records, like many have been trying to do. He was also not playing around on the road track. Simply put, the driver of the Porsche Carrera GT is enjoying the drive and the performance of his sports car in one of the most challenging road circuits in the world.

Porsche Carrera GT listed on Craigslist for $669,900

Every now and then, there are vehicles listed on Craigslist for sale — and some of them are the least you’d expect to see on this site. Last week, a Porsche Carrera GT was posted up for grabs on Craigslist Phoenix for a whopping $669,900. It is definitely a rare find.

The Porsche Carrera GT is a 2004 model with 7,790 miles. The listing does not indicate whether the vehicle has received modifications or not. The exterior appears bold enough but the interior seems to be a little worn out.

What makes the Porsche Carrera GT extra special despite its age is its powerful core. It comes with a superb V10 engine that delivers 605 hp and 435 lb.-ft. of torque. As a result, the Porsche Carrera GT is capable of a 205-mph top speed and a 60-mph acceleration, which can be attained in just 3.5 seconds. This supercar is only offered in a six-speed manual transmission with a racing-type clutch unlike the supercars of today, which are offered in multiple transmission variants.

Last 2 Gemballa Mirage GT models looking for their buyers

If you love cars, then you definitely heard of the Gemballa Mirage GT based on the impressive Porsche Carrera GT, a supercar introduced back in 2004. Only 1,270 units were ever produced and only 25 were supposed to became a Mirage GT. The bad news is that Gemballa already sold 23 units and the good news is that only 2 Mirage GT models are still available.

Porsche Carrera GT receives newly developed Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires

Although the Carrera GT production ended back in 2006, Porsche is still taking care of the people who bought its supercar. As a result, the German manufacturer developed a new tire for the Carrera GT in partnership with Michelin. According to Porsche, the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire enhances the handling of the Carrera GT and replaces the current Pilot Sport PS2 tire.

Moreover, the car drivers will see benefits in relation to the stability of the Porsche model at its top speed of 330 km/h, but also at high lateral acceleration speeds. Furthermore, the new structure of the tore features the Porsche specification "N0" on the sidewalls and the tread compound is based on "dual-compound" technology, same as Michelin racing tires.

What’s more interesting is that the belt is made from an especially durable mix of aramid fibers, which are five times lighter than steel but deliver the same tensile strength. Comparing it with the previous tires, fuel consumption is improved by 10 percent on normal roads and almost 20 percent on the race track. Braking performance is also improved. The new Carrera GT tires are available now in 265/35 ZR 19 98Y "N0" and 335/30 ZR 20 108Y "N0" dimensions.

Some cars just don't need any tuning because they are perfect like the manufacturer delivers them. In our case , the Porsche Carrera GT is already the perfect supercar and its performances are impressive: the 5.7-liter V10 engine delivers 612 hp and generates a maximum torque of 590 Nm which makes it capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds while the top speed is limited to 334 km/h (207 mph) due to the safety reasons.

Although just 1,270 units of this car were built one unit went to the exclusivist tuner specialized in Porsche vehicles: 9ff.

After some modifications the tuner boosted the massive V10 engine to an impressive 900 hp!

The German tuning specialist Gemballa, which has become famous for its work on the Porsche Carrera GT supercar, is coming out with its latest creation in the form of the Mirage GT Carbon Edition.

This time Gemballa focused on the dual-color paint finish rather than on power output, and aims at exclusivity with the announcement that it will only build a totally limited number of 5 examples.

Although other Gemballa products came with 750hp (560kW), the Carbon Edition is content with its 670hp (500kW). The Carbon Edition still yields an extra 50hp above that of the standard Carrera GT, but with 465lb-ft (630Nm) of top torque it will definitely provide a driving sensation no matter what speed.
