Volkswagen introduced at the 2012 LA Auto Show, the Beetle Convertible R-Line and Exclusive models. What’s very important is that these models will not be available in the United States but seeing them here might be a sign that Volkswagen is testing people’s reaction! Volkswagen presents the Beetle R-Line

Volkswagen is currently offering the R-Line appearance package based on the top of the line Beetle Sport model that spices up the styling of the small cars’ exterior and interior. The R-Line is an appearance package exclusively. The car gets features that build on the sporty appearance of the model such as a new front bumper with bigger air intakes and chrome surrounds.

In addition, the R-Line Beetle equipped vehicles get a rear diffuser, new body side panels, and the option between 18-inch alloy wheels or 19-inch alloy wheels painted black or white. These would all carry R-Line badging. Consumers can get the exterior package by itself. However, the upgraded R-Line interior only comes with the exterior appearance package.

The interior enhancements include sport seats, front head restraints with R-Line stitching, leather trimmed steering wheel and gear shift leather with grey stitching. The sport look is improved with the decorative inlays that get a “Dark Vanadium” finish. The Beetle sport is offered with three engines: (1) a 1.4-liter TSI that produces 157 hp, 92) a 2.0-liter TSI that delivers 197 hp, or (3) a 2.0 TDI that makes 138 hp.

Soon, it will be end of the road for the people’s car from Germany – the Volkswagen Beetle – as the carmaker is due to end the production of the second generation in 2019. Sadly, VW has no plans to give the Beetle a direct successor. Nonetheless, it remains possible that the name “Beetle” would be resurrected as an all-new model distinct from its current two-door form.

A report from Autocar is saying that VW is considering creating a revolutionary new Beetle, one that has four doors and powered by an electric powertrain. The new Beetle could be presented as part of the army of emotional cars that VW plans to launch along its standard models.

The carmaker’s top honcho, Herbert Diess, is bent on introducing these new emotional cars, which will include the production version of the ID Buzz microbus that will be due on 2022. But before the ID Buzz, VW will be introducing the production versions of its volume electric vehicles like the ID hatchback and ID Crozz sports utility vehicle at the end of the decade (2020).

Any person you ask about a Volkswagen Beetle can probably distinguish it from a lineup, and that is because this car has been very popular worldwide and has been around for a very long time now. Well, one thing we also know about it is that the VW will not produce a new model anytime soon, and this is why German tuner ABT Sportsline is showing us that there still is life in the aging vehicle. You might think that is just a show car, but the special Beetle Convertible is actually a commission by a managing director of a medium sized company.

Let us first talk about the droptop vehicle’s exterior, as it features a bronze wrap with a slightly matte finish that is complemented with the black logos. It then sits on a set of 19 inch wheels with five sets of double spokes and what the firm refers to as a silver bullet finish.

Because the Beetle is quite an old model, we won’t expect it to have a super powerful engine. This is why Abt decided to install engine upgrades that pushes the 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder’s output to 286 horsepower (213 kilowatts) instead of the standard 217 horsepower (162 kilowatts). Along with the engine upgrade is a brake upgrade that includes six piston calipers and 14.57 inch (370 millimeter) rotors. The overall ride height has been lowered as well because of the new springs.

We’re seeing the last days of the Volkswagen Beetle. Sales of its third-generation model have not exactly been positive. But even as the Beetle’s end is impending, it won’t go out without a bang. Memminger, a small German manufacturer, has decided to give the world its version of the iconic car, and the product is absolutely beautiful.

In case you’re not familiar with Memminger, let us give you a few details. It was established in the late 1970s as a steel construction company. The very first time it restored a Beetle was just before the millennium but it eventually turned into their core business. Since then, Memminger has been building, as well as restoring Beetles with the use of the original recipe.

Today, the latest model the manufacturer has built is the Roadster 2.7, a true modern-day Beetle.

When most of us are asked what the most recognizable Volkswagen vehicle is in history, probably the first thing that we would think of is the iconic Beetle. With around 21.5 M units distributed worldwide, there's no denying that the classic Beetle is considered one of the most popular vehicles in history.

However, all good things must come to an end, as the hard top Beetle variant is now being considered to be put on the chopping block due to the poor sales. Not only is the hardtop Beetle is loomed to be retired, but the Scirocco may also soon disappear from the brand's lineup.

Due to the slow sales of the senior models, the time has probably come to end the Beetle and the Scirocco lineage. Volkswagen board member Arno Antlitz disclosed to Autocar that the Beetle and Scirocco are considered to be solid models of an emotional and charismatic class of automobiles, but it is not always about extending cars from one gen to the next. If rumours are to be true, then the Beetle Convertible will be at least happy, as the talks say that it will be given a slim reprieve due to the fact that is more sellable compared to its hardtop variant.

Months from now, Volkswagen will commence sales of its new Atlas SUV (2018 model year) in the United States. But as early as now, the German carmaker is making sure that it would be able to attract more customers for the new Atlas by disclosing that a performance-inspired R-Line package is up for grabs for its latest SUV.

This new trim will be available to the SE and SEL models of the 2018 VW Atlas, effectively enhancing their appearance both inside and out. The overall effect would be an Atlas that looks more dynamic and sportier than a typical model. Exterior enhancements packed in the R-Line trim include the fitment of distinct bumpers -- with integrated air intakes at the front bumper and a glossy black diffuser on the rear bumper.

Further exterior details include new side skirts, 20-inch aluminum-alloy twin-spoke wheels and R-Line badging. Interior improvements, meanwhile, come with an R-Line steering wheel clip as well as stainless-steel sport pedal covers. As soon as the driver starts up the SUV, the Modular Infotainment Platform (MIB II) infotainment system lights up with R-Line logo.

Volkswagen revealed that its Beetle and Beetle Cabriolet range will be revived by offering new models to the line-up. It will include the classic production version with new personalization options, Beetle Exclusive, and a special model dubbed as Denim. Indeed, it’s a treat for any Beetle lover.

This tradition, with its own lifestyle story, is expected to move forward. Take the Beetle for example, while it remains to be one of the brand’s emotional models, it will now be equipped with a host of new features. In terms of paint finish for example, two will be offered (Bottle Green Metallic and White Silver Metallic). Volkswagen will also be offering the Basic and Design trim line wherein its bumpers have been redesigned to make it sportier by having a flatter appearance.

Meanwhile the R-Line equipment line, which was previously known as the Beetle Sport, has modified bumpers fixed to it. Helping add dynamics is the ventilation opening that has been placed on top of the bumper. Both the R-Line and the Design Line are offering options, some of which are unique. In terms of looks, the 2016 Beetle Dune dons an appearance that is more aggressive than other Beetle models, specifically because of elements like a new front fascia and a new rear fascia as well as well-pronounced black wheelarch extensions drifting into the model’s bumpers.

Its stance is also more aggressive with the Beetle dune’s track being around 0.6 inches wider while its ride height is around 0.4 inches higher. Giving the Dune an athletic look is a new front bumper featuring a large central air intake that widens towards the bottom edge.
