Land Rover is working on sporty versions of the new Range Rover and the Evoque, according to the latest reports from Autocar. Apparently, the British carmaker owned by Tata Motors, the sporty models from Land Rover will get ‘RS’ badges.
The first RS model from Land Rover will be a Range Rover Evoque and Autocar says that this will be launched possibly by the end of the year.
The Evoque RS will get a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine developing around 300 bhp. Regarding the design, this will not be changed extensively. Each and every time a vehicle hits a large object, it always loses. In the recent incident that happened in Perth, Scotland, three Land Rover Range Rover Sports units and a Jaguar E-Pace were the casualties. No, they were no directly involved, but the transported they were riding was. The transporter, however, sustained no damage.
According to a report by The Courier, a transporter operated by haulage firm Carlson tried to pass under the bridge on Marshall Place just outside the railway station at Perth. It was just a few minutes after 8:00 in the morning when the driver of the transporter seemingly forgot that the vehicles being transported on his lorry were higher than the clearance of the railway bridge. It might also be that the driver miscalculated the total height of the transporter plus the Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, and assumed that he could pass under the bridge safely without any major incident.
The attempt made by the driver was pretty disastrous. While the low railway bridge seemed alright as well as the transporter, a Jaguar E-Pace and three Land Rover Range Rover Sports models were damaged. One of the Range Rover Sports actually lost its head – it was totally scalped by the incident. The two vehicles located on the top front of the transporter were heavily damaged.Read the entire article A Range Rover Sport got totaled after transporter tried going under a bridge in Scotland
It’s a given that Sports Utility Vehicle could never take on a supercar. A Mercedes G-Class for instance, or even a Mitsubishi Outlander, would find it hard to outperform a supercar like the Ferrari. All that is about to change with the Range Rover Sport SVR from Land Rover.
Driven by Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver Ho-Pin Tung, this performance SUV set a new unofficial record at Tianmen Road. Located in the Hunan Province in China, the Tianmen Mountain Road is well-known for its 99 turns, making it one of the best ways to test man and machine.
The record for completing this 11.3-kilometers (7-mile) ascent was in 2016 by a Ferrari 458 Italia clocking in 10 minutes and 31 seconds. Taking an average speed of 68.8 km/h (42.8 mph), the new Range Rover Sport SVR managed to traverse the same in 9 minutes and 51 seconds.Read the entire article 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR beats Ferrari’s record at Tianmen Road
Jaguar Land Rover reveals Range Rover’s newest model as well as their first-ever first plug-in hybrid model, which is available only on the Sport trim. The SUV, which gets the “P400e” moniker, hides the charging port on the side of the front grille.
Under the hood of the Range Rover is a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, as well as an electric motor housed on the transmission to complete the plug-in hybrid powertrain. Overall, the 2019 Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid has a combined output of 404 horsepower (297 kilowatts) and 640 Newton-metres (472 pound feet) of torque. To break that down, 300 horsepower (221 kilowatts) comes from the combustion engine, while the e-motor carries out 116 horsepower (85 kilowatts).
Furthermore, the SUV has a 13.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that lets the P400e travel on electric power for up to 31 miles (51 kilometers) without a single drop of gasoline. Depending on the charging cable, one can fully charge the SUV in 2 hours and 45 minutes with a 32 amp wall box or 7 hours and 30 minutes with the standard 10 amp cable.Read the entire article 2019 Range Rover Sport Facelift comes with plug-in hybrid variant known as P400e
It has been six years since Land Rover introduced the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Since then (2011), the Ranger Rover Evoque compact luxury SUV has been one of the carmaker’s best-selling models. Testament to this is the fact that in six years, Land Rover has managed to produce and move around 600,000 units of the Range Rover Evoque.
Certainly, this milestone calls for a celebration. To make that celebration more realistic, the British carmaker is introducing a limited edition of its compact luxury SUV – the Range Rover Evoque Landmark Special Edition. This special edition pays tribute to the Range Rover Evoque’s critically acclaimed design, all-terrain capability as well as unparalleled appeal.
The new Range Rover Evoque Landmark Special Edition is wrapped in Moraine Blue finish -- a color that takes inspiration from the turquoise lakes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains – although it could also be finished in Yulong White and Corris Grey. It is fitted with a dynamic body kit and comes with a number of exterior design details in grey. This includes the Carpathian Grey contrast panoramic roof as well as the Graphite Atlas grille and bonnet. The fender vent and the tailgate lettering are also finished in Graphite Atlas. The new Range Rover Evoque Landmark Special Edition rides on 19-inch Gloss Dark Grey alloy wheels.Read the entire article Range Rover Evoque celebrates six years of success with Landmark Special Edition
Speaking of design, just recently, Land Rover gave us a first look at the Range Rover Evoque Cabrio. It is a hybrid in the sense that it is part truck, part sport car. It is a truck that is a convertible. It has two doors, but sits four passengers. The company actually calls it a “crossover with capability”. It’s strange, but in a nice way - visually. I think this is the kind of car that people would either want or hate with a vengeance. There aren’t too many of those; that’s why this is such an interesting imagery.
Anyway, let’s move on to the core of this article. There was a computer-generated photo of a Range Rover Sport that was posted on Behance, a creative social media platform late last week. And the outcome looks really sexy. It is a two-door Range Rover Sport Coupe. Yes, you heard it right, a two-door Range Rover Sport.
But don’t get too excited for those of you who want to get one, as this is just a simple exercise by a certain Craig A Clark of Blackburn, United Kingdom. Let us give credit to Clark for rendering something really cool. Though this creation may look unrealistic or somewhat unpractical, the more you examine the images, the more you would think that “hey, it might actually work”. Well, it visually looks sweet to be honest.Read the entire article Love it or hate it: a two-door Range Rover Sport RS Coupe gets rendered
Ever since it was launched in 2015, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR has proven to be one of the most powerful, quickest and fastest SUVs. In fact, it was able to complete a lap in the Nurburgring circuit (technically a road) in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds. Only a few SUVs are faster.
When buying a vehicle, one of the many considerations that a possible customer takes into account is how quick it could accelerate from zero to 60 mph or 62 mph (100 km/h). The weight of the vehicle, its output and its torque are the main determining factors.
Usually, this sprint time is measured dynamically, which means all factors have been optimized to favor a quick zoom from standstill on an asphalted track or road. Realistically, a dynamic sprint time applies only partly to vehicles that are expected to be taken off the road – to the grass, gravel and snow, as well as to the mud and sand. It’s because these are low-friction surfaces, and only all-terrain vehicles like the Range Rover Sport SVR are able to remain quick.Read the entire article 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR sprint ability tested in real-world conditions [w/video]
When the Range Rover Sport was first released, the plan then was to showcase luxury. However the model’s actual potential was hidden as U.K.-based Jaguar Land Rover released a more practical application of its mid-size SUV segment offering.
Every now and then, a version came out that showed a kitchen cabinet feel to this master living room. All of that however is nothing compared to the version that Vilner Studio, located in Sofia, Bulgaria, is revealing. As part of its 20th anniversary celebration, Vilner has made what may be one of the most elaborate projects to have its signature.
The actual car itself had previously undergone modification by tuner Barugzai and proof of this was the body kit and the 22-inch wheels. This enhancement was done as the model was the same one that was given as a prize in the highly-celebrated TV show called “Britain’s Got Talent”. Specifically, the original Land Rover Range Rover Sport was won by the dance group Diversity after beating out Susan Boyle during the talent show’s 3rd season.Read the entire article Vilner 20th Anniversary Edition Range Rover Sport is Luxury on the Move

Ben Saunders is known for his exploration of the Arctic and the Antarctic, usually on snowshoes. Just recently, he dared to make another trip to the Arctic, but this time he drove behind the wheel of the Range Rover Sport SVR on a full-scale on-ice replica of the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Land Rover documented Saunders' transformation from a newbie ice driver into an expert driver in Arjeplog, Sweden, where that carmaker carved a replica of the Silverstone circuit on the frozen Lake Udjaur.
Of course, his transformation was made possible with instruction and guidance from no other than Minna Sillankorva, a former rally champion who is now a Land Rover Experience instructor. Saunders admittedly remarked that it was his first time driving on ice, but he described the experience as the most fun he has ever had on four-wheels.Read the entire article Ben Saunders takes Range Rover Sport SVR to challenge Arctic version of Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit
