2016 Renault Talisman Estate to make public debut at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show

Renault has unveiled the new Talisman Estate roughly one month after it presented the Talisman’s saloon version. It will start selling in Europe in the first half of 2016. Every year in Europe, the D segment (composed of saloons and estates combined) racks up sales of over a million units.

Estates make up about 54% of this number. The new Renault Talisman Estate has all the advantages of the saloon variant while getting the estate’s stylishness and practicality.

The measurements of the Talisman Estate are exactly the same as that of the saloon. It is 4.86 metres long, 1.87 metres wide, 1.46 metres tall, and has a wheelbase of 2.81 metres. Other qualities they share are a sleek profile, a high waistline, and dynamic proportions.

2016 Renault Talisman is the Laguna successor

Renault has unveiled the new saloon – the Talisman – the replacement for the Laguna. The Talisman, which is slated to go on sale in 2016, was seen being tested in Europe. However, it isn’t expected to be available in the UK. The front end has design cues similar as those of the next-generation Renault Megane, which is slated to make its arrival in 2016 too.

Meanwhile, the overall shape of the Talisman is comparable to conventional saloons such as the Mazda 6 and Volkswagen Passat. Renault said that the Talisman nameplate was picked because it “conjures up notions of both protection and power.” It is also easy to say and it is understood everywhere in the world.

Buyers can choose from two petrol and three diesel engine options. If you’re looking for efficiency, get the 108bhp 1.4-litre diesel engine. When coupled with the six-speed manual gearbox, it can emit as low as 95g/km of CO2. It is also available with either a 1.6-litre dCi 130 or a dCi 160, as well as a 147bhp and 197bhp petrol option.

Auto China 2012: Renault Talisman aims at young businessmen

Created for China, Renault’s new flagship Talisman saloon embraces the casual indulgence of Chinese consumers. This refers to the cost value for daily life’s luxuries. Its sleek design and class-leading interior target the demands of young businessmen looking for a vehicle for professional and personal needs. The Talisman will be built in Korea at Renault Samsung Motors and exported to China from mid-June 2012 at a base price of 318,800 RMB (38,652 euros).

Renault's China sales increased over four times since 2009 mainly from the Koleos’ success. It earned eight China awards. In 2011, 24,100 units were sold, increasing Renault's China sales by over 60% from 2010. The Koleos SUV is demonstrating great success, and China is now its main market. The range expanded in 2011 by introducing the Scénic, Laguna, Latitude, Fluence, and Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet.

Once having only a minor role in China, Renault plans on building momentum over the next years by expanding its network in preparation for a long-standing presence. The Talisman launch will help speed Renault’s positive energy in China, with an increasing distribution network, from 80 in 2011 to 170 in 2014.
