Once considered the most anticipated sports utility vehicle in the world, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan was the brand’s first SUV. Since it was launch, the ultra-luxurious SUV has been exceeding the Rolls-Royce sales expectations. Now, the Cullinan is made more opulent with a stretched wheelbase version as created by German company Klassen.
Tagged as the Rolls-Royce of SUVs, the Cullinan is meant to appeal to wealthy customers looking for a potent, ultra-luxurious yet highly practical SUV. But the people at Klassen know that ultra-rich people see luxurious mobility as being driven, not being behind the wheel. Thus, cabin space is of utmost importance to them, and luxurious cars with long wheelbase are heavily preferred. Klassen seeks to redefine the opulence of the Cullinan by creating a long-wheelbase version.
Klassen is not new to stretching high-end vehicles. In fact, creating long wheelbase models is its specialty. It has already created long wheelbase version of a number of luxury models, such as the Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Mercedes G-Class and the Range Rover Autobiography. With the Rolls-Royce Cullinan tagged as an ultra-luxurious SUV, there is nothing that can prevent Klassen from giving this model a long-wheelbase makeover.Read the entire article Klassen is offering to convert the Rolls-Royce Cullinan into a long-wheelbase model
Rolls-Royce is experiencing overwhelming sales success with its first sports utility vehicle, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan. In fact, the ultra-luxurious SUV is surpassing the carmaker’s sales expectations. At this point, some people are already expecting the brand to release a smaller version of the Cullinan. But to their dismay, Rolls-Royce has already shut down the possibility of creating a smaller SUV that would complement the Cullinan.
Rolls-Royce chief executive Torsten Muller-Otvos told AutoCar in an interview that the carmaker has already completed its model lineup when it launched the new Cullinan SUV. The ultra-luxurious utility is the fifth and latest model of the carmaker, joining the Phantom, Ghost, Wraith and Dawn in Rolls-Royce lineup. The remarkable success of the Cullinan is bringing smiles to the top management at Rolls-Royce. According to Muller-Otvos said early sales of the Cullinan have exceeded expectations, calling customer reaction to the luxury SUV as brilliant.
Nonetheless, the British carmaker isn't keen to add a new model, especially a smaller SUV, into its current lineup. Muller-Otvos remarked that Rolls-Royce is already pleased with its lineup, noting that there is no demand for a new SUV model among the brand’s ‘ultra-luxury’ buyers. He said that Rolls-Royce strategy is to maintain its high-end price position -- not moving the brand into lower-price segments just for the sake of getting higher sales.Read the entire article Rolls-Royce has no plans to create a new SUV smaller than the Cullinan
A week ago, we spoke of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s up-and-coming limo that was scheduled to make its debut during his inauguration. And we weren’t disappointed when the massive limo finally was presented. The limo is actually how we imagine a hybrid of a Mercedes-Benz S Class and a Rolls-Royce Phantom would be like.
Putin’s limo is referred to with the code name Kortezh or cortege in English (which directly means entourage or procession). The front fascia features a large chrome grille with vertical slats that accentuate the limo’s considerable size. It features rectangular headlights that evoke an image of the Chrysler 300. As you move onto the back, the rear glass flows back to a long tail, and the taillights look a lot like those on the S-Class.
Unsurprisingly, we don’t have much technical information about Putin’s limo, for obvious reasons. But according to sources, the limo uses a turbocharged V12 with 850 horsepower (634 kilowatts) that was achieved with assistance from Porsche engineering. The engine works with a Russian-designed nine speed automatic gearbox. Under the Kortezh’s skin, we expect an abundance of armour, communication, and security technology.Read the entire article Vladimir Putin’s 850 hp limo debuts at his inauguration
Three years ago, Rolls-Royce first mentioned the Cullinan, which came to be the most anticipated SUV in the world. It is the opulent brand’s very first high riding model. However, the automaker actually describes it as “an all-terrain high-bodied car.”
Of course, the Rolls-Royce of SUVs is meant to attract rich customers who are looking for a potent, very luxurious, and practical SUV. The automaker’s plan is to attract a younger generation of successful people who are right in the middle of the so-called experience economy.
The Cullinan features an opening hatch, called The Clasp. This in inspired by an era when luggage would be positioned outside of the car to create more space for the passengers. It is easily accessible with only one touch of the key fob button, opening up the 560 liters (19.77 cubic feet) of cargo space. When the rear seats are down, there will be a total of 1930 liters (68.15 cubic feet).Read the entire article 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV has arrived, priced from $325,000
One thing that the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin will really need would be a vehicle that isn’t only comfortable, but one that will also protect him from the most brutal attacks. And that’s why his new luxury limousine had to go through a long development and testing period. And after many sessions of crash testing, Putin’s ride is finally ready to drive him around the country.
Denis Manturov, Russia’s trade minister, told national daily newspaper Russia Today, that the president’s new vehicle will be spotted in action at Putin’s presidential inauguration on May 7. There is no better way to form a new government and denounce your western rivals from a position of luxury and comfort.
Before the end of the month, Putin’s car is scheduled to be delivered to the Kremlin. The newly re-elected Russian premier is said to have been closely involved in the project, even finding the time to get out of the office and drive earlier versions of the vehicle.Read the entire article Here’s what we know about Vladimir Putin’s new armored luxury limo
Finally, another automaker is getting on the SUV bandwagon. About to reveal its very first SUV is Rolls-Royce, which stated that “the wait is almost over” as it prepares to introduce Goodwood’s “High Sided Vehicle”.
BMW Group’s high end marque also shared plans of carrying over the model’s codename by deciding to baptize the new model as “Cullinan”. In fact, Cullinan was the working title about a couple of months ago, and all of a sudden, it is ready to make history - being Rolls Royce’s first-ever SUV.
The name of the car originated from Cullinan Diamond, which is the largest gem quality rough diamond ever found, with a weight of 3,106.75 carats (621.35g), according to Wikipedia. It was in1905 when this was discovered in South Africa’s Magaliesberg Mountains and was then named after the mine’s chairman, Thomas Cullinan.Read the entire article Rolls-Royce finally confirms Cullinan nameplate for its first-ever SUV
Automotive News announced that the loyal customers of Rolls-Royce will be among the first to see the new Cullinan SUV that will be unwrapped behind closed doors. Meanwhile, the general public and the press will have to wait until the latter part of the summer before they can see the much anticipated model for themselves.
If you were not aware, Cullinan is actually just a codename for the automaker’s SUV project. And even if the production version will have a different name, the automaker has yet to inform us what it is. Another thing we noticed is that the automaker refers to the vehicle as a “High Sided Vehicle” instead of an “SUV”.
As you can see in the photos, the Cullinan gets a boxier and more chiseled body, where the front end appears to be very similar to the Phantom. This includes the rectangular LED taillights and the thin intakes underneath them.Read the entire article Rolls-Royce regulars will witness private debut of Cullinan SUV
The uber-luxurious sports utility vehicle market is definitely growing quickly, Bentley has its own Bentayga and Rolls-Royce is now prepping the Cullinan. And now, it seems that Land Rover wants a piece of the action by possibly expanding their lineup with a SUV that will sit on top of the current range topper, the Range Rover SV Autobiography.
The juicy details are not really that crystal clear at this point in time due to the fact that it is still a question mark if the Land Rover "SUV" will be a completely different model or just another luxurious trim for the Range Rover. By far, the most expensive and premium Land Rover model was the Range Rover Holland and Holland, which costs around £180,000 in United Kingdom and $244,500 in United States.
Unfortunately, the SUV is no longer available as it was only released for a limited time only. The Tata Motors-owned company does not have a vehicle to rival the Bentley Bentayga as of the moment, but this could possibly change in the following years as this uber-premium range topper is being planned. Furthermore, a Mercedes-Maybach marked SUV will supposedly be produced in the next years to come.Read the entire article Land Rover will produce new flagship model to rival Bentley Bentayga, Rolls-Royce Cullinan
Usually, it is up to resourceful spy photographers to take clear pictures of vehicle prototypes, especially those that have aroused a lot of interest. The same is true for Project Cullinan, which aims to create an overly luxurious SUV for Rolls-Royce. Dubbed as the Rolls-Royce’s fighter against the Bentley Bentayga, the Cullinan SUV has been spied so many times. This time around, however, Rolls-Royce took the luxury of showing the Cullinan SUV to the public, albeit in camouflaged form.
Don’t get us wrong. This Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV isn’t the final version. It is rather a prototype that is currently being tested, modified and refined to suit the market that Rolls-Royce is aiming for. However, we could surmise that this is – at most – the design of the new Rolls-Royce Cullinan. It’s highly likely that Rolls-Royce is now just setting its focus on improving the SUV’s inner workings.
Rolls-Royce has dubbed the Cullinan as an “‘all-terrain, high-sided vehicle," and the prototype featured in the pictures reveals that it could be. The aim is to create a final vehicle that could go ‘Effortless … Everywhere.’ According to Rolls-Royce, this is a full development prototype, which will soon enough be tested in public. To determine whether its description fits, Rolls-Royce is taking the development prototype to various locations around the world as part of a challenging testing program. One location would be Arctic Circle, where the Cullinan will be tested for its cold weather durability and traction. Another location will be the Middle East – which will be visited sometime in 2017 – where the Cullinan will be tested for high temperature durability and its ability to tackle challenging desert conditions. After all, its moniker “Cullinan” – which is its codename and is not yet final – is derived from the name of one of the largest rough diamonds ever.Read the entire article Rolls-Royce reveals camouflaged prototype of its Project Cullinan SUV
Tesla has been stirring up media attention lately with their upcoming Model 3 and upgraded Model S. But wait, there’s more. Tesla has been focused on increasing production. That’s well and good but recently though, there was plenty of buzz created about a soon-to-be-released one-off modified Model S that captured the interest of so many people in the industry.
We don’t blame them. The idea of a stretched XL Model S limousine sounds great to us. This limousine project is said to be inspired by environmental reasons rather than a commercial one. Actually, Tesla hasn’t yet released any comment about this independent undertaking.
Although if you ask us, there isn’t any downside to converting this electric-powered sedan into an environment-friendly limousine. Tesla would likely even be flattered with all the attention. California-based custom limousine builder Big Limos is presently up and about creating this one of a kind masterpiece.Read the entire article California-based Big Limos is converting Tesla Model S into a limousine
Audi has always put their customers first and has prioritized their needs, whether the purpose is for safety or comfort. The brand is even known for sometimes giving in to what can be considered as bizarre requests. One such example is a European customer’s request for a king-sized version of the Audi A8 L. Yes, cars also go in the same sizes as beds but what’s interesting is why this particular customer wanted a larger Audi A8 L.
Of course, Audi conceded and created the six-door Audi A8 L Extended. The Audi A8 L Extended is Audi’s very first version of a king-sized sedan. With a length of 6.36 meters and weight of 2,418 kilograms, this six-seater king-sized sedan offers top-class comfort in every aspect.
It took almost a year for Audi’s engineers to develop this exceptionally long sedan. Most of the challenges came from safety and rigidity as well as the styling of its extra-large body. An Audi Space Frame design made of aluminum was used for the production model’s body, resulting to a low weight.Read the entire article Audi introduces A8 L Extended one-off limousine
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been under fire over an alleged money laundering scandal. The Russian President is linked to a suspected $2 billion offshore bank transaction involving some of his associates. It was revealed by a set of confidential documents called the “Panama Papers” that Bank Rossiya was doing a billion-dollar operation in behalf of some of Putin’s associates.
The documents show how money of as much as $2 billion was channelled through the offshore accounts of some of the Russian president’s closest friends. Even if Putin was not part of the transactions, he is still under fire because of his association to these people.
However, it seems like the Russian president is in no way affected by these controversies. Or it would seem that just like the rest of us, Putin likes to do some shopping to relieve stress. Just recently, it was unveiled that the Russian president is to receive a new Kortezh limo from the first batch of Cortege cars according to Industry and Trade Minister Denis Maturov’s announcement.Read the entire article Vladimir Putin buys newest Kortezh limousine amid money laundering accusations

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is planning to develop an SUV, confirming hints made by chief executive Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes earlier this year. The carmaker announced the plans through letters delivered by white-gloved chauffeurs in Phantoms in New York City. While the new vehicle is an SUV, Rolls-Royce won’t call it so and dubs it an “Everywhere Vehicle.”
It even has its own hashtag: #EffortlessEverywhere. With the announcement, Rolls-Royce would join a throng of luxury carmakers already offer SUVs like Porsche (Cayenne), Mercedes-Benz (G-Wagon), Land Rover (Range Rover), and Bentley (Bentayga).
This means that Ferrari remains the only major luxury carmaker without an SUV in its current or future lineup. While Rolls-Royce has yet to announce when it would launch the “Everywhere Vehicle,” it said it had decided to build a luxury off-roader after consulting its clients.Read the entire article Rolls-Royce confirms plans to develop a luxury off-road SUV
Rolls-Royce is finally joining the SUV market and is planning to offer the vehicle to the market at the end of 2018. The SUV – codenamed "Cullinan" after the world's largest diamond – will have a starting price of EUR275,000 and will be limited to just 2,000 examples, according to a report by Autobild.
Rolls-Royce chief executive Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes told Automotive News in an interview on Jan. 9 that the British ultra-luxury brand is mulling whether a SUV would be suitable into its lineup.
He was quoted as saying at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show that there was a market for SUVs from an ultraluxury segment. Ultra-luxury brands like Bentley are developing SUVs in order to capture affluent buyers in markets like China, Russia and the Middle East.Read the entire article Rolls-Royce is preparing Cullinan SUV for market launch in 2018
Those in the livery and limo business should watch out as Hyundai is entering this segment with very attractive incentives. Just last week, Hyundai was at the International LCT Show in Las Vegas to make a pitch to coachbuilders and livery operators. This niche market is dominated by Cadillac’s Escalade and Lincoln’s Town Car.
The LCT show (which stands for limousine, charter and tour operators) is a yearly event that is considered the biggest convention in the world for this segment.
At this show, automakers will present models; conversions are shown by coachbuilders, and those in the livery business go to place orders. News in this industry is covered by LCT's trade magazine and Web site, which recently reported that Hyundai introduced its Genesis and Equus sedans at the LCT show.Read the entire article Hyundai wants in the limo business, offers fleet incentives for the Genesis and Equus
If you believe that the upcoming wagon version of the Fiat 500 is not big enough, then take a look at this. The car you see in the photos is the creation of Carrozzeria Castagna Milano and it is named the Fiat 500 Limo. The theme of the vehicle is the classic American limousine and due to this, the subcompact Fiat 500 has been stretched to reach 5.32 meters, in order to offer plenty of space even for Shaquille O’Neal.
The vehicle is offered in two versions: LimpCity and LimoSun. As expected, the LimoCity is the closed version of the vehicle and offers a new set of rear doors, which can be opened at the push of a button as they slide to the rear of the car. The LimoSun is the landaulet version of the vehicle and it is based on the Fiat 500 Convertible.
Apparently, the Italian coachbuilder is planning to build these types of cars for the beach resorts and the Middle East. Carrozzeria Castagna Milano also revealed the fact that it is working on the LimoCity President, and electric version of the Fiat 500 limousine that is powered by two electric motors that can push it to a top speed limited to 100 mph or 160 km/h and has a range of 250 km or 155 mph.Read the entire article Carrozzeria Castagna unveils the Fiat 500 limousine
Observers noted the irony of North Korea's Kim Jong Il being brought to his final resting place on a 1975 or 1976 Lincoln Continental limousine hearse. He was known for his opposition to U.S. capitalism and yet, there are reports that he was a closet fan of American culture. It is believed that his collection of Hollywood films amounted to over 20,000 movies.
With many mourners on the side of the road, a procession of Lincoln luxury limos passed.
On the first Lincoln limousine is where Kim’s flag-draped coffin lies. The second had a giant poster with an image of the Dear Leader. And on the third limousine is a very big funeral wreath.Read the entire article Oh, the irony: Kim Jong Il’s last ride was with a Lincoln Continental limousine
Imperial Coachbuilders Inc. of Springfield, Mo., will start to build Leaf conversions this month with a focus on supplying zero-emission limos to environmentally-conscious fleet customers. It’s no simple task to stretch a Nissan Leaf that has a lithium ion battery module. Tom Catterson, Imperial's director of marketing, said that the first thing that the engineering staff had to do was dismantle a Leaf to determine where they could cut the car in half without obstructing the battery structure.
They found out that the saw line will zigzag across the car immediately at the back of the driver's seat. Weight is the other challenge.
With the Leaf's lightweight architecture, the battery could offer 80 to 100 miles of driving. But to build a stretch limo, Imperial would have to add space for four passengers at the rear. This means the addition of four feet of car with added weight and a shorter battery range.Read the entire article Imperial Coachbuilders to convert the Nissan Leaf into a limousine
