All 106 future owners of McLaren’s upcoming hypercar BP23 will get exclusive sculpture

This one-of-a-kind sculpture is something your money cannot buy. Rather, this unique piece will be given as a gift to the 106 owners of McLaren’s next hypercar. As can be expected, this sculpture is a preview of McLaren’s BP23 project.

The BP23 Speed Form, the name of this super valuable sculpture, weighs 7.9 pounds (3.6 kilograms) and measures 15.7 x 8 x 3.1 inches (409 x 205 x 80 millimeters). Each of the 106 examples has been created with the use of the latest five axis CNC cutting technology, while the final touches are made by hand to attain a higher level of “craftsmanship.” Each sculpture needed more than 100 hours to be built, including 30 hours of expert hand polishing. At the end of the process, the sculpture will have to get the approval of a craftsman who checks the quality of each structure, making sure that it has attained the highest quality possible.

According to the automaker, all of the 106 examples of the legendary F1’s three seat successor have already been accounted for. The British automaker claims that this hypercar will be the fastest production McLaren model to date, as it can hit a top speed of 243 miles per hour (391 kilometers per hour) as well as being the car with the highest level of aerodynamics.

Mercedes-Benz sculpture unveiled at 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed [w/video]

Lord March and Head of Mercedes-Benz Classic, Michael Block, unveiled today the Central Feature at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed this year’s sculpture that soars 26 meters over the Goodwood House. Weighing 160 tonnes and measuring 90 meters in length, the new sculpture was created by Gerry Judah and it is the most complex and ambitious yet conceived.

As you can see from the photos, the sculpture celebrates 120 years of motorsport heritage by Mercedes-Benz. The sculpture features two cars, a replica of the 1934 Mercedes-Benz W25 Silver Arrow raced by Manfred von Brauchitsch to victory ‘first time out’ at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, as well as a Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 W04.

In unveiling the sculpture, Lord March explained: “This year’s Central Feature is the most architecturally and artistically challenging sculpture that we’ve ever had at Goodwood and it’s a testament to the out-of-the-box thinking of Gerry Judah, which is very much aligned with our philosophy of constant innovation around the Festival of Speed. The result is a truly spectacular sight for all our Festival of Speed visitors to see.”
