Lynk & Co, a carmaker founded just two years ago, is introducing its third production model: the Lynk & Co 03 sedan. This new model – derived from a concept first unveiled in April 2017 at the Auto Shanghai – marks the Chinese brand’s very first sedan.
When the Chinese carmaker unveiled the Lynk & Co 03 Concept at the 2017 Auto Shanghai, it was easily unmistakable that this sedan concept featured the design cues – both on the front and on the rear ends – of the Lynk & Co 01 and 02 sports utility vehicle. It looked like the 01 and the 02 but in a more aggressive and sportier package.
After more than a year, Lynk & Co – a Chinese-Swedish auto brand owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group that also owns Volvo -- is introducing the 03 sedan, which is essentially the production version of the 03 Concept shown in Shanghai in 2017. Mercedes-AMG only came out with the E43 lineup a few years ago, and already, the said model is ready to retire the badge so they could give way for the arrival of the electrified E53 family. It was first revealed at the beginning of the year during the Detroit Auto Show and came in two body styles, a coupe and a cabriolet. These were then followed by the reveal of the sedan and wagon flavours last month.
And according to the automaker, towards the end of the year, Mercedes will be selling the 2019 model year E53 Sedan in the United States, as a replacement of the E43 Sedan, and it will come along with the more upscale two-door E53 models. To make it clear, the name change is just a minor thing.
The real upgrade is in its performance, as it now packs more power. But instead, the new inline six biturbo 3.0 liter engine has an output of 429 horsepower and 384 pound feet of torque. Subaru WRX and WRX STI fans will soon have a new special edition trim available when the 2019 model year debuts. These will be called Series.Gray and they will be available on both models. The special edition will come with a handful of appearance and performance parts inside and out, but this really isn’t considered to be new information. Sometime around the end of last month, Subaru announced the 2019 WRX and WRX STI and shared with us most of the details of the Series Gray models. What’s new for us would be some details and a number of photographs.
The Series Gray WRX was built off the WRX Premium trim that includes the Performance Package. New features include ultrasuede trimmed Recaro seats, eight-way power driver’s seat, JURID front brake pads, a moonroof delete, LED fog lights, keyless entry with push button start, and LED steering responsive headlights. The special edition will only be available with a six speed manual transmission. The WRX Series Gray comes with a price tag of $32,595.
If you are the type of person who would not settle for something common or usual, or want a more unique WRX STI, then the Series Gray may be right for you. When looking at it from the exterior, the package gets a Cool Gray Khaki paint, exclusive Crystal Black Silica badging, foldable exterior mirror, and 19 inch alloy wheels finished in black. The Brembo brakes have a silver finish with a black STI logo. As you move into the interior, you will notice black Ultrasuede with carbon black leather bolster and ultrasuede steering wheel with red stitching which are all standard. A few days back, we discussed that Ford’s plan involves retiring most of its compact cars and sedans and replacing them with SUVs. However, there would be two small models that will remain in the lineup -- the Mustang and the Focus Active, at least for the United States. So what is the automaker’s reason for doing so? Well, the answer is as simple as this - money.
To support that statement, Jim Hackett, Ford’s CEO said in his interview with Automotive News that they have decided to just focus on the healthier part of the business, referring to trucks and crossovers. In the first quarter of 2018 alone, the company’s sales of $3 billion all came from this segment. Soon, 90 percent of all sales will come from this.
The CEO added that they will soon deal with the parts of the company that destroy value. He, of course, is speaking of sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, by 2022, they hope to uncover $25.5 billion in savings with the switch to SUVs and trucks. During the 2018 Beijing Motor Show, Geely revealed a new flagship saloon model, and for the very first time, it looks like the Chinese automaker might actually set the bar for other international marques to follow.
The Bo Rui GE is the first-ever model to roll out of the automaker’s new design centers set up by Peter Horbury, the company’s head of design, who once worked in Volvo and is now with Geely to oversee design of the company’s subsidiaries. He has been a part of brands like Lotus and LEVC, also known as the company that makes the London taxi.
According to Horbury, the Bo Rui GE was not made under the influence of the Western culture. Rather, it is a sign that the Chinese’s tastes are changing. During his interview, he also stated that the Chinese market has evolved and has become more sophisticated and mature compared to how they were a few years ago. Following the unveiling of the HK GT Gran Turismo at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Pininfarina is showing off another all-electric car concept. Dubbed as the H500 saloon, this new electric study is being presented at Auto China 2018, also known as the 2018 Beijing Motor Show.
The new H500 saloon is actually one of the two new electric concepts born from the collaboration between Pininfarina and Hybrid Kinetic Group, a Hong Kong-based high-tech brand. The other is the new K350 four-seat sports utility vehicle.

The seventh generation of the Lexus ES premium sedan (2019 model year) has just been unveiled at the 2018 Auto China (Beijing Motor Show), boasting a more dynamic performance, an all-new exterior design as well as a comfortable and luxurious interior.
Essentially, the 2019 Lexus ES owes its latest evolved character to the all-new Global Architecture-K (GA-K) platform. Compared to its predecessor, the all-new ES is longer by 2.6 inches, lower by 0.2 inches, and wider by 1.8 inches. Its wheelbase is longer by 2 inches while its tracks are wider both on the front (by 0.4 inches) and the rear (by 1.5 inches). The Global Architecture-K chassis is a rigid front-wheel drive chassis that makes use of various grades of high-tensile steel to save weight. It features enhancements like an all-new double wishbone suspension design, rack-mounted electric power steering and a V-brace mounted behind the rear seat.
This new platform allowed the new ES to feature a dynamic yet fluid shape, as well as a characteristic silhouette highlighted by an aggressive downward slant. Mercedes-Benz is showing some love for the automotive customers in China by unveiling the long-wheelbase version of the A-Class at Auto China 2018, also known as the Beijing Motor Show. The very first A-Class L will be exclusively produced in China, with sales to commence in the country and in other parts of the world in the second half of the year.
While the fourth generation of the A-Class bound for Western Europe next month is the hatchback, the A-Class unveiled at Beijing is a notchback, and Mercedes-Benz is officially calling this compact car the A-Class L Sedan, with the “L” suffix referring to its long-wheelbase character.
This is because the wheelbase of the A-Class L Sedan (at 2,789 mm) is around 60 mm longer than that of the A-Class hatchback (at 2,729 mm), offering more knee room for rear passengers. In terms of dimensions, the new A-Class L Sedan measures 4,609 in length, 1,796 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height. We first saw the 30 Years American Edition of the BMW M3 (F80) at SEMA last year. This model was created to celebrate three decades of the sports sedan in the United States. And if you were tuned in at that time, you would know that only one car was ever made and it was dressed in a snazzy Frozen Red II Metallic hue that is combined with19 inch front and 20 inch golden M Performance alloy wheels.
And believe it or not, when it first made its debut at Las Vegas, the said model came with a price tag of $128,635. That is double the price of a standard M3 that costs an average $66,500.
Today, the said model has a value of $130,110, and this one off M3 with all the extra cool bits has been put up for sale by a dealer in Los Angeles. Volkswagen is all set to commence sales of its 2019 Jetta at dealerships by the second quarter of 2018. Offering a bolder design, a roomier interior space and new technology, is out to prove itself more appealing than its predecessor. Nonetheless, there are customers who are already setting their eyes on the high performance of the sedan – the VW Jetta GLI.
The GLI version of the Jetta has been known to be performance-oriented, offering the sportiest drive and ride from the German carmaker’s sedan model. Acura’s A-Spec package will finally be made available to more buyers, according to the automaker. In particular, the 2019 Acura TLX sedan will now offer the appearance treatment for models powered by the base 2.4 liter inline-four engine. Up until now, it had only been the TLX with the V6 engine that could be dressed up in A Spec garb. Due to high customer demand for this, Acura decided to expand its availability.
In other words, it will be more affordable to get your hands on an A-Spec car, now that it is being offered with the TLX’s four cylinder engine. Pricing starts at $39,400 before destination costs for the four cylinder A spec, versus $43,765 for the V6 version.
What’s included in the 2019 Acura TLX with the A-Spec trim, will be a set of special 19-inch wheels, a unique front fascia with larger intakes, a matte black grille, tinted taillights, a gloss black trunk spoiler, and a couple of visual add ons. A couple of weeks ago, we heard that Kia took the covers off its newest K900 in their homeland in South Korea. Now, the automaker does the same for the North American model at the 2018 New York Auto Show. The automaker claims that this model will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2018, and pricing details will be revealed as we come closer to the launch date.
New K900 just made its debut in the United States, looking pretty much like its South Korean sibling, where the sedan carries the name K9. The design is quite conservative and it maintains a traditional three box shape, and it seems to not want to move towards the sleeker, coupe inspired elements like that in many modern sedans.
The new grille is one thing that Kia is quite proud of, featuring a wavy mesh with 176 cells. Apparently, this design was made to release energy moving away from its center, similar to how ripples in water move away from the impact of a splash. Mercedes-Benz has chosen New York City as the location to reveal to us the refreshed C63 AMG family. These comprise the coupe, sedan, and cabriolet. In fact, we have seen the pre production models being tested but finally, the automaker has decided to get rid of the camouflage.
Now, we finally see them in the flesh, and we would say that one of the most obvious changes would be the new Panamericana grille that is actually pretty standard across the AMG line. That’s not the only thing it has been given though, as the 2019 C63’s front fascia has slightly been reworked as well. Meanwhile, the rear part gets twin tailpipes with high gloss chrome and a tweaked rear diffuser.
Under the hood of this C63 is a biturbo 4.0 liter V8 that enables it to produce 469 horsepower (350 kilowatts), while the C63 S has 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts). Earlier this year, we learned that the Competition Package for the BMW M5 (F90) will be arriving this year with production set to begin in April. Now, March is coming to an end, and it is just time for us to hear more details about the specifics of what the package have to offer, thanks to an Australian Bimmerpost forum user who ordered a BMW M5 with Competition Package. Everything that we expect from the package will be offered by the German automaker.
The user confirmed some details we already knew, from how output increases to 625 horsepower from the same biturbo 4.4 liter V8. Torque remains unconfirmed, while horsepower eclipses that of the M5’s rival - the 603 horsepower Mercedes AMG E63 S.
Surprisingly, there had been some details they revealed that we did not know about the package at first. For instance, the Competition Package will have a lowered suspension, and the front end will be dropped by seven millimeters, and ten millimeters for the rear. There should be other suspension changes as well, that make the M5 easier to handle on track. With all the issues going around the automotive industry, car makers have to be more mindful of their moves, especially when it comes to the development and production of cars.
Like now, European spec cars had just been given a new set of requirements, and this will mean a production shutdown for BMW’s flagship 7 Series sedan for an entire year. To be more specific, this shutdown really only affects gas powered vehicles, and diesel engine will still be produced. This is quite an odd thing considering that diesel variants have a reputation of being the more polluted engines, especially with the Volkswagen’s Dieselgate scandal.
The decision to shut down engines began when the new requirements of the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (also known as WLTP) were implemented. Ford have recently been dropping hints about a new Ford Fusion, and what I mean is that they will soon reveal the redesigned sedan for 2020. But even before this, they are already considering a minor upgrade for the mid-sized 2019 model year. Some of the more noticeable upgrades include visual cues on the outside like a new grille and LED driving lamps up front, as well as a new trunk lid panel and LED tail lights in the rear.
As for technology, the Ford Fusion has now been given Ford’s driver assist systems, which they had just rebranded as Co-Pilot360 earlier this month. Now, this comes standard throughout the Fusion line.

The Mercedes-AMG S63 – both in its sedan and coupe guises -- is a high-performance luxurious ride that offers 612 PS (603 hp or 450 kW) of max output and 900 Nm of peak torque. These massive numbers are already considered as the higher levels of performance, but people at Brabus believe more can be done to further increase these figures. Turning belief to reality, the well-known German tuning company created the new Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe as based on the AMG S 63 4Matic+.
As its name indicates, the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 boasts of 800 PS (789 hp or 588 kW) of max output from the heavily upgraded AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. The peak torque level has already been boosted from 900 Nm to 1,000 Nm (737 lb.-ft.) as available at just 3,600 rpm. An untouched AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is already powerful enough to send the AMG S 63 – both sedan and coupe versions -- sprinting from nil to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and achieving a top speed of 250 km/h.
But the upgraded eight-cylinder mill with its boosted power allows the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to dash from true zero to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds quicker than their regular counterparts. Audi has officially released images of its new A6 sedan. While this eight-generation sedan was scheduled to make an appearance at this year's 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the brand was forced to release photos and information after images were leaked to the internet. This makes the new A6 (C8) official as it prepares to join the A7 and the A8.
Under the hood, the new A6 shows that it has the same maneuverability as a compact while also having the handling of a sports car. The redesigned suspensions means the use of aluminum in a number of areas and aids in ride quality even when getting the optional 21-inch wheels fitted with the low-profile tires. For many owners, this mix is rarely seen as something that offers comfort.

A lot of people question why there is even a 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65, firstly because it costs a lot more than the S63 sedan ($82,500 more) and yet, it is 0.7 second slower when sprinting from zero to 60 miles per hour. Both cars not only have similar top speeds, but they both offer the same options and features. In other words, we do not clearly see why the S65 should cost a lot more than the S63. We don’t see it both on paper, and when looking at it. Therefore, paying for so much more is quite irrational. But I guess that’s why its customers would want this model.
Nick Martin, AMG Product Manager at Mercedes-Benz, says that there will always be someone who prefers a 12-cylinder, and that they will buy the ultimate in performance because that’s their character.
The S65 is one of the few models out there that are still offered with a V12 engine, hence making it very exclusive. And of all Mercedes models, this is the only one with the S-Class powertrain that has been unchanged for the 2018 model year. For those of you who have extremely high standards, the Mercedes-Benz S Class may not be opulent enough for you. And this is the reason why the automaker decided to make the high class sedan a notch more luxurious with its Maybach variant. What makes this variant stand out from its siblings would be the new grille that uses vertical slats, instead of the regular horizontal ones. On the lower fascia, you will find a metallic trim that gives the vehicle a flashier look.
The most prominent change here, however, would be the car’s profile. The 2019 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class now measures 215 inches (5,461 millimeters) long, while riding on a 132.5 inch (3,365.5 mm) wheelbase. This is a whopping 10 inches (254mm) increase than even the long-wheelbase S-Class Sedan.
