2017 Porsche 911 Turbo is transformed into 828-hp wide-body Gemballa GT Concept

A Porsche 911 Turbo turns heads not just because of its elegantly sporty looks, but also for its spectacular performance. Now, Gemballa has created its own version of the 911 Turbo which boasts an appearance and performance that offer much more impact than a regular model. This version – the Gemballa GT Concept – has made its debut at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas.

Gemballa is nothing new to the world of customizations. In fact, the tuning company in Germany has been involved in individualization and customization of Porsche – as well as McLaren – sports cars in more than 30 years. Its latest project shows that Gemballa still got what it takes to bring a Porsche sports car to a whole new level.

The Gemballa GT Concept is essentially a turbo version of the Porsche 911 Turbo. In its standard form, the biturbo 3.8-liter boxer engine of the 911 Turbo is tuned to generate up to 540 hp (397 kW) of output and up to 710 Nm (523 lb.-ft.) of torque. Gemballa, however, reworked this already powerful engine to develop remarkable 828 hp (609 kW) of max output at 7,000 rpm and 952 Nm (702 lb.-ft.) of peak torque available from 5,200 rpm.

SEMA Show-bound Future Forty by Superformance is a GT40 replica with Ford GT engine

Visitors at the much-awaited 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show – scheduled from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 -- can expect a wide array of show cars that demonstrate not only various aftermarket parts and specialty services, but also the capabilities for various companies. One of these show cars is the Future Forty from MagnaFlow and Superformance.

Superformance is an American automobile company that creates performance components and full replicas, especially cars from the 1960s like the Shelby Cobra, Daytona Coupe, GT40, and the Corvette Grand Sport. The company and MagnaFlow – a firm that takes pride of its expertise in performance exhaust systems superior catalytic converter technology – have decided enter into a partnership and create a visually exciting fabrication that makes use of a Ford MkI GT40 replica and the engine of a modern Ford GT. The result is what is to be shown at the upcoming 2018 SEMA Show – the Future Forty.

2018 SEMA Show: This Hellephant 426 is 1,000-hp Supercharged Mopar Crate Hemi engine

Mopar just brought a mammoth at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mopar is introducing a new crate engine that is like an elephant from hell. Dubbed as the “Hellephant” 426 Supercharged Mopar Crate Hemi engine, this new powerplant isn't just massive in size, but also in performance.

Hellephant is essentially a brand-new HEMI-engine that borrows its name from the massive land mammal – because of its large size as well as its ability to deliver huge power figures. As Mopar disclosed, the Hellephant 426 Supercharged Mopar Crate HEMI engine can deliver up to 1,000 hp of humongous output and up to 950 lb.-ft. of torque. This new Hellephant engine is the first 1,000-hp crate engine kit ever offered by an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

To achieve 1,000 hp of output, the Hellephant 426 Supercharged Mopar Crate HEMI engine is developed to be much larger that your usual HEMI engine. In fact, it boasts of 4.0 inches of stroke and bore specs at 4.125 inches. The Hellephant engine features an all-aluminum block, which made it much lighter than other engines of its size.

2018 SEMA Show: Three VW Jetta builds on its way to showcase aftermarket parts

The 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas in just around the corner (October 30 to November 2), and people are expecting special parts and equipment as well as concept builds to show up. Three of the builds that are going to the 2018 SEMA Show will be derived from the seventh generation of the Volkswagen Jetta, as announced by Volkswagen of America, Inc.

These Jetta builds are the H&R Special Springs Jetta R-Line, Air Design USA Jetta SEL and the Jetta S by Jamie Orr. All of them will be displayed at various locations in the Las Vegas Convention Center on the entire duration of the 2018 SEMA Show.

Wrapped in the Habanero Orange factory finish, the H&R Special Springs Jetta R-Line is a build that highlights the aftermarket suspension offerings from H&R Special Springs. It features H&R Street Performance Coil Overs and Trak+ wheel spacers that brought the Jetta closer to the ground. It rides on 19 x 8.5-inch Rotiform BUC wheels shod with Pirelli P Zero tires. Visible through the wheels are upgraded front performance brake calipers and 13.4-in rotors.

The 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas is about to start and Nissan won't itself be outdone by other carmakers. In fact, Nissan will be gracing the 2018 SEMA Show with five one-off vehicles, including a 400-hp Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 that combines the latest technology with the Z heritage aesthetics.

Leading the charge for the Japanese carmaker is the Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 project car that combines a number of OEM, aftermarket and bespoke fabricated parts. A track-only project car, the Project Clubsport 23 makes use of performance parts that have been tested and developed in Motorsports, as sourced from most respected suppliers. As Nissan Motorsports and MA Motorsports intended, the Project Clubsport 23 is an ongoing parts development platform, which means its looks might be different months from the 2018 SEMA Show.

The Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 was based on a 2012 Nissan 370Z NISMO deprived of its original 350-hp 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine. This SEMA show car essentially demonstrates how a Camaro would look like when finished with the new Shock yellow exterior color. This new exterior for the Camaro will be made available in early 2019. The 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show is just around the corner and Chevrolet won't just sit idle. It intends to get impressive at the 2018 edition of the event by displaying three vintage vehicles that are powered by Chevrolet Performance’s newest crate engines.

Up for display at the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 30 to November 2, 2018 are: a 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle Laguna powered by the all-new LT5 6.2-liter supercharged crate engine; a 1967 Chevrolet C/10 with the all-new ZZ6 EFI 5.7-liter V-8 crate engine; and a 1978 Chevrolet Silverado installed with the L96 6.0-liter V-8 crate engine.

The new LT5 6.2L supercharged crate engine in the 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle Laguna is derived from mill found under the hood of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Tuned to deliver 755 horsepower and 715 lb.-ft. of torque, the LT5 6.2-liter supercharged crate engine is Chevy’s most powerful production engine so far. This crate engine employs technologies like a new, larger-displacement supercharger and the carmaker’s first dual-fuel system with direct injection and supplementary port injection.

After several teasers, we have finally seen Infiniti’s newest creation. Infiniti built the Q60 Red Alpha Concept with the main intention for it to go fast. That is why it has a gutted interior and a huge drag racing parachute attached at the back.

However, during the 2017 SEMA Show, Infiniti announced that there will be a whole range of performance parts specifically for the Red Sport 400 versions of the Infiniti Q50 and Q60.

Thanks to AMS Performance, they developed a number of upgrades for the Red Alpha concept car. Customers can get their hands on most of these starting early next year at Infiniti showrooms.

SpeedKore Performance Group, known for its historic and modern vehicles, has just unveiled the custom-built Ford Mustang Boss 302 at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The bespoke vintage car from the 1970s was commissioned by Hollywood superstar Robert Downey Jr. who's famous for his role as Iron Man or Tony Stark from the Avengers film franchise. Downey Jr. spent time collaborating ideas with SpeedKore to restore the Mustang Boss 302’s original design while giving it several modern-day touches.

The muscle car has been equipped with Ford Performance Aluminator 5.0-liter V8 engine with Stage 2 Ford Roush Supercharger and is paired to a Bowler T56 transmission. It is rather sad that SpeedKore hasn’t disclosed any information regarding its performance but as expected, that should probably come out much later.

Embodying the same elements from SpeedKore’s latest projects, the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 also features lightweight carbon fiber materials which are evident on the muscle car’s front and rear spoilers, quarter extensions, fenders, deck lid, hood and bumpers. Aside from shedding tons of weight, SpeedKore has added a Detroit Speed aluminum frame, new suspension, a new set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and a new powertrain to help catch up with what's trending in the highly evolving automotive industry.

Last week at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, we witnessed something that may come as a threat to the Dodge Hellcat, and it is Ford’s latest Shelby Mustang, and it has got a whopping 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts), which is why it was dubbed the Shelby 1000. The automaker’s latest kit can be added onto any 2015 or later Ford Mustang.

Unlike before, the Mustang GT will lose the 5.0 liter V8 that it once had. This will then be replaced by a 5.2-liter V8 from Shelby GT350 that will be added with a 4.5 liter Whipple supercharger that pushes its limit to an estimated 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts). Apart from the new engine, it will also get a new high-flow fuel system, intercooler, ECU tuning, and an upgraded manual transmission.

It will never be enough to just give the Mustang a new and more powerful engine, right? And because all of you probably agree, Ford does too. This is why they are giving the Mustang an all new front fascia, hood, front fenders, rockers, quarter-panels, rear diffuser, exhaust, and widened front and rear tracks. The body now sits on a fully adjustable coilover suspension, and new Brembo brakes for added stopping power. Other parts that have been added are stronger spindles and hubs, hardened wheel studs, and wider wheels and tires.

Car manufacturers have been boasting a lot of interesting cars and concepts at the ongoing 2017 SEMA Show. From BMW’s M5 Performance Parts, Chevrolet’s cool new software update for the Corvette, and Kia’s good-looking trio. Yes, even Kia stepped up their game and made a noise at SEMA, by bringing along two hot Stingers and an all-black Cadenza.

Let us get into more detail about each car beginning with the wide body Stinger. As you can see in the photo, it had been hand crafted by the people at West Coast Customs. And if you know something about car history, you would notice a slight resemblance between the custom Stinger and the GT cars of the 1970s. But despite the same wide body treatment that it got, it still has Kia’s already aggressive design.

The Stinger rides on a set of 21-inch Keen forged wheels paired with high performance tires. It also sits on a lowered suspension (by 1.4 inches up front, and 1.2 inches in the rear), and is finished in layers of pearl blue metallic paint. The body has a lightweight carbon fiber aero kit and a rear diffuser to keep the sedan close to the ground. Inside is a driver-centric cockpit with bright blue leather piping that match the handmade grey leather seats.

After numerous teasers that came along with promises of speeds up to 300 miles per hour (482 kilometers per hour), Hennessey finally reveals the highly anticipated and much hyped Venom F5 at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Similar to the outgoing model, the new F5 will put its focus on the same thing, and that is speed. But one thing that makes this one more special is that it was built from the ground up.

Unlike the outgoing model, the F5 has gotten rid of the Lotus chassis, but it is now wrapped around a custom carbon fiber tub instead. Most of its body is finished in the same lightweight material too. As for the design, it has been made to look significantly sleeker compared to its predecessor. And for comparison’s sake, the current Venom GT has a coefficient of 0.44 Cd, while its successor has a drag coefficient of only 0.33Cd. The Bugatti Chiron, on the other hand, has a coefficient of 0.38Cd.

Hennessey made it clear that people should not expect to see a hybrid powertrain with any of their models, and that is because he is a “purist”. He prefers to have simple, but elegant functionality - not that he is trying to belittle or bash hybrids.

To mark Hot Wheels’ 50th anniversary in 2018, the miniature toy car company has partnered with Chevrolet to build a custom Camaro Hot Wheels Edition. This hot new custom Camaro will be based on the first Hot Wheels released in 1968 to pay tribute to its heritage. For an additional $4,995, Chevrolet will be offering the new appearance package for 2013 model year Camaros including the new 2SS coupe and 2LT convertible models, aside from the 2018 COPO Camaro Hot Wheels Edition available for purchase.

For the road-going Camaros, the Hot Wheels Edition can be had in the iconic orange Crush color with stripes mimicking the shade of Hot Wheels’ toy tracks, while also resembling the Hugger Orange exterior paint of the Chevrolet Camaros from 1969. The new exterior package will consist of dark Chevrolet bow ties, black tail lamps, ground effects in Satin Graphite shade, orange brake calipers, limited edition 20-inch wheels and 50th anniversary Hot Wheels badges.

As for the interior, the Hot Wheels Edition adorns the cabin with a special edition steering wheel with the 50th Anniversary Hot Wheels badge. It’s also packed with illuminated door sill plates, embossed front headrests, orange seat belts, orange stitching and plenty of orange leather inserts.

As October ends and we get closer to the end of the year, we welcome more auto shows where automakers take the opportunity to display their unique cars and concepts. Speaking of shows, the latest one would be the SEMA. Just after BMW previewed its M Performance Parts made especially for the 2018 BMW M5 (F90), the automaker is letting us have a closer look at the sporty goods, which they presented through the MotoGP Safety Car.

During the first day of the 2017 SEMA Show at Las Vegas, BMW revealed the midsize sedan, which at first glance, seems to have gained an aerodynamic body kit. It was made with a number of carbon fiber components, which overall gave the M5 a more aggressive look. Customers who are willing to pay extra can get optional parts like a front bumper attachment, extended side sills, and a rear spoiler.

If you want a more modified ride, you can even opt for a beefy rear diffuser, and even have your side mirror caps dipped in carbon fiber, the same as the front and air breather trim side grilles. Lastly, you can pay an extra cost if you want your M5 to be equipped with an M Performance coilover suspension with adjustable red springs.

Not a lot of people outside the United States know of the Wisconsin-based repair shop, Ringbrothers. But soon, they will become larger as they showcase models that they have restored. One of them would be this 1969 Dodge Charger, which they call the Defector that had just made its appearance at the ongoing SEMA show. In total, the team behind this model spent 4,700 hours working on this model and it is also their first time to build a show car based on a Mopar.

Why did it take them that long, you ask? Well, a lot of the time was spent on redesigning the Dodge’s body. Unlike the factory model ’69 Charger, the repair shop has shortened the Defector’s trunk by two inches, losing some of its length. Despite that, its wheelbase has then been extended by another three inches. It is now covered in a BASF colour that they call “Greener On The Other Side.” This is complemented by chrome accents all over the body.

With the Defector’s shortened body, new rocker rails and quarter panels had to be added, together with a new suspension. The new subframe it sits on comes from Detroit Speed. It also has a new rack and pinion steering, and a four-link rear suspension setup. To complete the exterior design, it now rides on a set of 19-inch wheels from HRE that is paired with six-piston front piston Baer brakes.

One of the few people we know who collect high-powered modified Mustangs would be pro Formula Drift driver and motorsports enthusiast Vaughn Gittin Jr. Today, he is back with another installment, and the muscle car will make an appearance at the 2017 SEMA Show on October 31st in Vegas. One thing we expect from it, like all other RTR Mustangs, is a whole bag of horsepower.

From the outside, the Ford Mustang gets the same signature style elements from the previous model. But now, it has a more aggressive front fascia, where the grille is highlighted by LED accenting lights in triangle. It has got a meaner looking front splitter as well as a more sculpted hood too. The exterior is finished off with black accent striping on the hood and side profile, a more subtle lip spoiler, and a new set of high-spoke wheels.

Gittin has not mentioned anything in terms of this particular Mustang’s performance. However, we are guessing that it would have something close to 700 horsepower (521 kilowatts) or probably more when it makes its appearance in a few weeks. So far, the most powerful Spec 3 RTR Mustang had a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 that carries out as much as 670 horsepower (499 kilowatts) and we witnessed this at the 2015 SEMA.

Gemballa can be a bit too outrageous when it comes to tuning Porsches, and its latest package only proves that it never ceases to surprise its clients. Speaking of which, Gemballa introduces the GTR 8XX Evo-R BiTurbo tuning kit with a high dosage 828 hp. The tuning house made this exclusively for the already powerful Turbo and Turbo S Porsche 911s and according to them, the Evo-R can accelerate in 2.3 seconds at 62 mph (100 km/h) before hitting the quarter mile in 7.5 seconds at 124 mph (200 km/h).

Overly impressed? Well, what they did to come up with such monstrosity is they added some larger valves and reinforced connecting rods to the 911’s 3.8-liter biturbo flat-six engine. The special tuning package also includes the installation of new turbochargers to provide an added boost, including an updated exhaust system and a few modifications to the intake system to handle all that extra power. To ensure that everything works accordingly, Gemballa has made some changes on the 911’s gearbox and ECUs as well.

Interested Porsche 911 owners can avail this new package for more or less $59,000 or 49,800 euros which could already afford you a brand new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat by the way. Say, if the Hellcat packs 707 hp, and the Porsche 911 costs a little over 190,000 USD, which one would you buy instead? The package does not even include interior modifications or any upgrades for the wheels and brakes but they do offer personalization to that extent. Also, Gemballa’s claimed performance figures are quite really impressive, making it even harder for anyone to decide.

Marvel fans will be looking forward to another movie in February -- the Black Panther. We initially thought that he would be driving a car like the Bugatti Chiron. But it turns out that the superhero is actually going to be driving a Lexus instead. Yes, believe it or not, it is Toyota’s sister company that stepped up to work in collaboration with the upcoming Black Panther, which is set to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In fact, they even built special cars specifically for the film, and soon a few lucky people will be able to purchase one of the cars built. But of course, you have to be real quick to get your hands on one. Lexus said that only 100 examples of the special edition model will be built. Another thing you’ll need to have is a lot of extra money in the bank, because it took a total of eight months just to complete the paint job alone, so it has got to be extremely pricey.

So what exactly is this car you ask? It is a 2018 Lexus LC 500 that is part of the automaker’s Inspiration Series. And only 100 units of the very first model will be available for the United States. You’ll probably agree that the LC 500 is already a beautiful coupe, and Lexus enhances it even more with a bespoke white interior, a unique set of 21-inch wheels, carbon fiber scuff plates and a Barneys barware set. We are guessing that the latter is for the passenger to enjoy, and not the driver. But we will see in the movie if Black Panther takes advantage of it. As for the mechanical bits, they remain the same, with a 5.0 liter V8 engine that works with a 10 speed automatic transmission, producing as much as 471 horsepower - not bad for a superhero.

It is a three-row crossover with a beach-inspired livery and amenities that would meet all your paddle boarding and hauling needs.

The Traverse continues to look like its old self, as it did not get a lot of crazy tweaks or a major facelift. Instead, it had been given a new Chevrolet Accessories Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier by Thule, and this includes a paddle board by Riviera Paddlesurf - pretty cool, huh? So this concept is really focused more on the paddle board carrier that can be bought as an attachment. Yes, the good news is that customers will be able to purchase this separately.

What makes this SUP concept unique is the fact that the car’s design matches that of the paddle board. It includes “Blue Wave” bodyside graphics like that of the blue River stand up paddle board. Yellow stripes that run across the belt line act as a contrast, as well as the gloss black bodyside moldings and fog lamp bezels and tinted windows.

But that hasn’t dissuaded Hyundai from what it has already set its mind out to do as we’re learned that the automaker will debut its newest creation dubbed as the HyperEconiq Ioniq Concept at the said show. From the name alone, it’s sure to be based on the Ioniq hybrid.

To make this hybrid version excellent in every possible way, and to squeeze out the maximum number of mpgs from the Ioniq, the Korean automaker had to work together with Canadian firm Bisimoto Engineering. Aside from aerodynamic tweaks, the vehicle received friction reduction modifications as well as mechanical adjustments.

The HyperEconiq Ioniq Concept will take the Ioniq where it has always been expected to go, minus sacrificing its drivability, according to Bisi Ezerioha, president of Bisimoto Engineering. He further says that they have a number of technical elements that not only help bring efficiency, but also raise aerodynamics and design to the highest level.
