Teaser sketches of 2019 VW Touareg show sharper, more muscular form

Later next month, Volkswagen plans to finally reveal the third generation or 2019 model year Touareg at Beijing, China. This is actually earlier than the initial plan, which was to debut the car in April. A couple of months ago, we saw spy shots of the SUV without its camouflage, which suggest that these are probably what we should expect from the production model. And now, the automaker published a single sketch that looks pretty much like the vehicle we saw in the spy shots.

The automaker’s goal for the 2019 Touareg is for it to have a more expressive design with an “unmistakeable appearance” that also has a strong character, according to Klaus Bischoff, Head of Volkswagen Design.

According to Volkswagen, their plan for the Touareg is for it to be the automaker’s flagship product in terms of design, while offering cutting edge technology. Though the automaker does not share a lot of details regarding these systems, the sensors we see on the spy shots indicate that it will have a sophisticated suite of driver assistance aids. The automaker promises that the SUV will be boasting the largest digital instrument display in its class as well, and this will be called the Innovision Cockpit. The Touareg is supposed to highlight new features that we have never used before, with its new type of infotainment system.

Bollinger Motors eyes to create longer four-door version of B1 electric SUT

Remember the Bollinger B1 all-electric sport utility truck (SUT)? This two-door four-seat electric truck just got more convenient with further utility with the addition of two more doors. This is the new four-door version of the new Bollinger B1.

Not a few were left in awe when New York-based Bollinger Motors unveiled the new Bollinger B1, the first all‐electric, on‐and‐off‐road SUT in the world. Regarded as a medium‐duty SUT, the new Bollinger B1 features an all‐electric powertrain, all‐aluminum chassis and convertible cab panels as well as adjustable air‐suspension and distinct unique storage options. With excellent ground clearance (15.5 inches) and massive amount of instantly available torque (640 Nm), the Bollinger B1 is being marketed as the perfect work truck for ranchers and builders. But it has only two doors, which means rear cabin passengers wouldn’t have an easy time getting in or getting out of the Bollinger B1.

This is why – through a sketch image – Bollinger is revealing the plans for a four-door version of the Bollinger B1 electric SUT. However, simply adding two doors won’t do. Bollinger decided to lengthen the B1 SUT. According to Robert Bollinger, designer and chief executive of the company, creating a four-door version of the B1 SUT – which should be as capable on the off-road as the two-door original – would mean stretching the chassis by nine inches.

Sketch of the Alpine A110 Cup Racer gives us chills

French automaker Alpine was founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, and was bought by Renault in the 1970s. Subsequently, Alpine production ceased in 1995. This year, the company was reborn as they introduced the new Alpine A110. The company is hoping to continue its success with this model. They also have plans to develop a small SUV to put in the same segment as the Porsche Macan.

It didn’t take long as the A110 is scheduled to make a debut soon. The A110 will come out in two variants, a racing version and a road legal version. And recently, the company revealed a sketch of what looks like the race car variant. The image does not say a lot because only the top part of the front fascia can be seen. But looking at the image, it seems like the road going version will have a more aggressive look, with its pronounced diffuser, a tow hook, and some more details to the hood - all of which helps improve airflow.

Under the hood of the road-going model will be a 1.8 liter turbocharged engine that can produce 252 horsepower (188 kilowatts) and 236 pound feet (320 Newton-metres) of torque. Overall, it weighs about 2,380 pounds (1,080 kilograms), which is considerably pretty lightweight.

Jeep reveals first sketches with the Yuntu SUV

The American automotive manufacturer Jeep surprised us all with a seven seater SUV in 2006, namely the GC-based Jeep Commander (XK). Well folks, the good news is here.

The Fiat Chrysler Automobile-owned company is planning to give the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer a second life as luxury SUVs; however, Jeep will possibly launch a 7 seater SUV if there will be a great demand for this type of SUV. Finally, we have a high-resolution teaser concept in our hands, in which the SUV looks impressive.

Believed to be the Jeep "Yuntu", this 3 row SUV will have a futuristic theme to its exterior design while maintaining a ruggedly dapper look. The new images revealed a raked windscreen, and the corporate 7 slot grille is enclosed by a pair of slim LED headlights that is not typical on previous Jeep models.

t seems as if something had flown out of the drawing board. Kind of. Before the Korean carmaker holds its official debut this year, sketches of the updated 2018 Hyundai Sonata have leaked on the Internet. Based on the reports, the teasers first came from Hyundai’s official Facebook page but a recent post from Hyundai-Blog also has the same drawings of the new sedan.

Although it wasn’t the first time that the upcoming model was spied online, the sketches prove to be more revealing as far as the design cues and how the finished product would turn out later on.

If anything, the new updates give the new Sonata a sportier look and it appears to have more of a European flair this time as compared to the current model. At least judging from the overall impression. Thanks to Schreyer’s signature nose grille, the most noticeable changes go to the front end which also includes new headlights and distinctive daytime running lights in LED. Besides these changes, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata is expected to come with redesigned cabin with new trims to match as well the latest information and entertainment system.

Audi revealed today the first official sketches with the all-new 2015 TT that will make its world debut next month at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. As you can see from the sketches, the design is inspired by the Concept seen at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, but don’t expect something radical, as the 2015 Audi TT will not show a fancy design.

The front end is dominated by horizontal lines, the singleframe grille is broad and flat, and the two contours form a V-pattern on the hood, The four rings logo now sits centrally on the hood, echoing the more expensive Audi R8. Moreover, the car features new headlights that come with optional LED technology or the newest Matrix LED technology.

Many details seen on the brand new TT are inspired by the original model. The flat greenhouse looks like an entity in its own right. The shape of the C-post, with a slight kink, gives the TT a powerful, athletic look and enhances the impression of tension. At the rear, we find redesigned taillights and the third brake light with a flat strip shape that links them.

If yesterday it was just a rumor, today it was confirmed: McLaren officially announced its entry-level model codenamed P13. Set to arrive in 2015, the new McLaren will carry a price tag of 120,000 GBP or about $197,000. Moreover, it will be powered by a detuned version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine found on both the MP4-12C and the P1 hypercar.

Still, on the P13, the V8 engine is rated at 444 hp, while in the MP4-12C it produces 616 hp and 737 hp in the P1. McLaren Automotive European sales chief David Brimson said that the P13 will be a true high-performance sports car with the same DNA as the 12C and P1.

Regarding the design, the McLaren P13 will borrow many styling cues from the P1 and you can easily see this from the official sketch released by the British manufacturer. McLaren is going to debut the P13 in September, at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, while sales are expected to start in the spring of 2015.

Nissan Motor Co. has shown a glimpse of a concept car sketches to reporters last week, a preview of what could be expected from the carmaker's next product offering. Nissan global design chief Shiro Nakamura described the car only as a four-door sedan concept that will bear a signature "V-motion" front-end design and headlight treatment for the brand.

According to Nakamura, Nissan will unveil the concept car in January 2015 at the Detroit auto show. He, however, would not confirm if sketches are the plan for the redesigned Maxima that due next year as a 2015 model. The Maxima had been left of Nissan's redesigning process in the past few years as the carmaker focused on reworking its smaller and less expensive sedans -- the Altima, Sentra and Versa.

The Maxima, which is considered as the largest and most expensive of Nissan's cars, has yet to be redesigned, and lacks a number of features its smaller siblings have like new technologies and fuel economy gains. This has lead to some speculations that the increased size and marketing emphasis on the redesigned Altima is part of the Japanese carmaker's plans to phase out the Maxima.

What Volvo unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show wasn’t nearly as interesting as the four sketches shown at its Camarillo, California, design studio of the design directions that the next-generation XC90 crossover may take. The sketches reveal the variations in terms of the size and shape of the signature taillamps, the differences in the C-pillar treatment, and the various degrees of angularity in the overall shapes.

But what’s a common thread in all the sketches is that they’re a lot more modern than the current XC90, which has been available in the market since 2002.

Volvo hasn’t implied which of the four is likely to be chosen as the final design but it said that the XC90 would be the first vehicle to use Volvo’s upcoming Scalable Platform Architecture.
