Skoda announces its plans to begin sales of at least five electric vehicles by 2025. While doing its work, the Czech brand is also set to show off its Vision E Concept at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. In a leaked image following a presentation held in China, we learned that Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda will soon unveil 2 more new SUVs in China, resulting in a four-model lineup. Of the 4 rumored vehicles, one has been revealed to the public - the seven seat Kodiaq.
The Kodiaq model will possibly receive the coupe treatment, a roofline raked to the rear end will be expected. Even though it will likely affect the Kodiaq's trunk capacity, it shouldn't be a big deal since the space inside will compensate as the SUV's interior has a large space.
Also seen on the powerpoint presentation are 2 vehicle outlines labelled "Model Q" and "Model K". There's much speculation that Model Q is foreseen to be a 2nd-generation Yeti and will be possibly built bigger to become a real to life crossover. The all new Yeti is planned to be unveiled on the latter part of the year and will likely be premiered at Frankfurt Motor Show around September and will be put on sale before this year concludes.Read the entire article Skoda Kodiaq Coupe, 2 new SUVs are confirmed to roll out in China
Skoda has announced another version of its new Skoda Kodiaq SUV. The regular variant of the Kodiaq announced in September 2016 exudes elegant practicality, while the recently introduced Kodiaq Scout version reeks of pure off-road capability and ruggedness. Now, the Czech carmaker is introducing the third version of the SUV with sporty looks – the new Skoda Kodiaq Sportline.
Yes, the new Skoda Kodiaq Sportline just looks sporty. It doesn’t boast of any improvement in power as it still features the same engine line up as the regular Kodiaq SUV. Well, it does have a sense of sportiness, thanks to the fact that its engine sends power to all four wheels; unlike the front-wheel drive regular Skoda Kodiaq.
In addition, the sporty looks of the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline continues inside the cabin, as this SUV model builds on the Ambition trim level. However, the Skoda Kodiaq Sportline features sports seats with Alcantara covers and silver-colored stitching as well as a leather-covered multifunction steering wheel and aluminum pedals.Read the entire article Skoda Kodiaq Sportline gets a more interesting exterior but offers the same power
When Skoda commenced its SUV campaign with the announcement of the new Skoda Kodiaq, not a few have wished that this vehicle would be available in an off-road version. Now, it seems the Czech carmaker has answered our prayers and responded by announcing the new Skoda Kodiaq Scout.
Even though Skoda flaunted the new Skoda Kodiaq as an SUV that could drive off the road with ease, there are reservations with the vehicle’s off-road capability simply because it is a front-wheel drive unit. While the new Skoda Kodiaq tries to impress SUV consumers with its distinctive design, practical intelligence and superior interior space, it seemingly lacks some ruggedness typically associated with off-road vehicles.
So, here comes the new Skoda Kodiaq Scout, which will be officially unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. As the recipient of the Scout designation, this version of the Skoda Kodiaq brings the SUV ability to a whole new level. It is now more capable of handling off-road drives and its ruggedness as well as practicality is also viable for an all-terrain drive. While the Skoda Kodiaq appears practically elegant and premium, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout has some ruggedness pounded into it – it looks more solid and ready to take both the road and beyond. Examples of this ruggedness include the silver-colored underbody protection both at the front and rear.Read the entire article Skoda unveils Kodiaq Scout off-road expert prior to 2017 Geneva Motor Show

Volkswagen Group may build a Seat sports utility vehicle at Skoda's Kvasiny site in Czech Republic, sources told Automotive News. VW Group has yet to green-light the SUV for Seat as it is still determining whether the struggling Spanish subsidiary can afford to add the model. Seat president Juergen Stackmann remarked that the SUV would be an important strategic building block in its product offensive in Europe.
Stackmann told Automobilwoche that Seat is working on an SUV that would "fit the brand and develop another European sub-segment" for the carmaker.Read the entire article New Seat SUV may be built at Skoda site in Czech Republic

In case you missed it, Ferrari is joining the world of crossovers. As SUV and crossovers continue to rule the demand in the automotive world, the Italian sports car maker saw that it is in its best interest to join the game with the new Ferrari Purosangue.
While this new crossover might officially arrive in a matter of years, this new Ferrari SUV might already be past the planning stage – if SupercarsNews is to be believed. SupercarsNews uploaded a video on its YouTube account with the description “Ferrari Purosangue spy spotted! The new SUV Ferrari mule on the road.” The video shows a camouflaged crossover entering the field of view of the camera. Then, the camouflaged vehicle comes to a full stop, but only for a second. Perhaps, its driver had no inkling that a spy photographer was waiting for an ambush. Then the camouflaged vehicle reverses to hide from the camera.
No thanks to the description, by SupercarsNews persons who would have seen the video would quickly believe that this test mule was an early prototype of the Ferrari Purosangue. However, the Ferrari vehicle on the video might not be a test mule for the Ferrari Purosangue crossover. Instead, it could be an elevated test mule for the Ferrari GTC4Lusso. Since this test mule has a high ground clearance, it might have been mistaken for the Purosangue. As to why the test mule for the GTC4Lusso has a higher ground elevation, there is no clear reason yet.Read the entire article Ferrari SUV will be named Purosangue
BMW will launch the fourth generation of its X5 SUV to the global market in March 2019. Its high-performance version, the X5 M, would follow but that would take some time. While the X7 M is a possibility that can’t be discount, it might be hard to imagine how the high-performance version of BMW’s flagship SUV would look like. Good thing though, an automotive graphic artist is here to help with his own rendering of the BMW X7 M.

His graphic works are usually realistic, to the point that it seems that his renderings were actual official images released by carmakers. X-Tomi latest comes in form of the BMW X7 M, which would be the high-performance version of the newly unveiled X7.Read the entire article This BMW X7 M looks like the real thing from the future
The distance a vehicle can travel with a full tank of gas or a single full charge is important to any driver. This is why most carmakers reveal the range of their vehicle offerings. With the first example of the I-Pace already delivered to its retail customer, Jaguar has released its MPGe estimates for its electric SUV. Sad to say, but the Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t measure to its EV competitors in terms of electric range.
When Jaguar said that the new I-Pace electric SUV would be getting a large battery as its core, expectations were high for its electric range – until it release its estimated MPGe figures. MPGe stands for miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe), as how the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) converts the power consumed by an EV into a term that is familiar to most Americans. MGPe is essentially how far an electric car can travel on the amount of energy that is equivalent to one gallon of gasoline.
According to Jaguar, the new I-Pace returns 80 MPGe city, 72 MPGe highway and 76 MPGe combined. This means that the Jaguar I-Pace can travel up to 234 miles in all-electric range in a single charge from its 90-kWh battery. That may sound impressive, but wait until its electric range is compared against other EVs, in particular the Tesla Model X that is considered as its main rival as both are electric SUVs.Read the entire article Jaguar says I-Pace electric SUV has an electric range of 234 miles
At the 2018 Paris Motor Show earlier this month, Czech carmaker Skoda unveiled the Vision RS Concept. According to Skoda, the new Vision RS doesn’t just show how its RS models could appear in future, but also foreshadows a new model in the compact car segment. Now, Skoda has finally confirmed the name of that new compact model – the all-new Skoda Scala.
Skoda reveals that the newest nameplate in its lineup derives its name from Latin word ‘scala’, which when translated would mean ‘stairs’ or ‘ladder.’ Thus, Scala signifies the next step forward for Skoda in the compact segment. Furthermore, the Skoda is taking a leap forward in terms of technology, providing the new Scala with innovative features that so far only offered in vehicles belonging to higher segments. Moreover, the Czech brand has also taken a number of several major development steps forward.
Interestingly, the Scala is the first Skoda series production model in Europe to feature the “Skoda” lettering -- instead of the Skoda logo -- in the center of tailgate.Read the entire article Skoda Scala is the newest compact model from the Czech carmaker

More and more vehicles are using automatic transmissions to send power from the engine to the wheels. Even supposed sporty cars have been ditching manual transmissions in favor of automatic gearboxes. But the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco could come fitted with a manual transmission, according to a report by Jalopnik.
Citing a number of sources privy with the plans, Jalopnik reported that Ford is tapping Getrag to develop a new manual gearbox for the 2020 Ford Bronco. The partnership between Ford and Getrag to develop a new manual transmission for the Bronco isn't surprising as the German company is also the one producing the manual gearbox – the MT-82 six-speed unit -- for the Ford Mustang. The new manual transmission for the new Bronco will be named as the MT-88. As per Jalopnik’s sources, this Bronco-bound transmission will be a seven-speed unit that would send power to wheels from Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
According to Jalopnik, there is a possibility that the new MT-88 manual transmission share components with the MT-82 manual gearbox. Likewise, Ford may also decide to use the new MT-88 manual transmission for the next generation of the Mustang. Nonetheless, while the current plan has the new MT-88 manual transmission being fitted in the Bronco, the fact that the vehicle is still being developed means things may change as Ford gets closer to the official unveiling of the Bronco.Read the entire article 2020 Ford Bronco may come with a six- or seven-speed manual transmission from Getrag
The RS designation at Skoda has been used to call model versions that bear the Czech brand’s sporty genes. Emotive and sporty in nature, these versions have been the result of the brand’s rich history of motorsport, which has already reached 117 years. Now, at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, Skoda is presenting a new study that provides a glimpse into its future RS models – the new Skoda Vision RS.
According to Skoda, the new Vision RS demonstrates how its RS could appear in future, conveying a good blend of sportiness, sustainability and functionality. After all, the new Vision RS isn't just an ordinary RS as its core is served by an electrified drivetrain – a combination of a conventional engine and an electric motor. Furthermore, the new Vision RS also foreshadows a new model in the compact car segment, where the Skoda Rapid and Rapid Spaceback is currently competing.
The new Vision RS essentially represents a completely new form of RS DNA. Its front end is defined by a sculptural bonnet with a Skoda logo made from illuminated crystal glass. The radiator grille features illuminated high-gloss black carbon-fiber slats, which comes in a new distinctive shape. The air inlet and spoiler mirror are shaped like the radiator grille, which is flanked by headlights consisting of four glass stones. The frontal lighting system of the Vision RS also includes narrow daytime running lights and fog lights. The side air outlets, air inlet grille and front spoiler are all made of carbon fiber.Read the entire article 2018 Paris Motor Show: Skoda Vision RS previews looks of future Skoda RS models
