McLaren Special Operations’ (MSO) latest project pays tribute to the racing homologation car from 1997 - that is the F1 XP GT “Longtail”. Today, they have styled six new McLaren 570GT coupes to look like the 1997 model. All six examples were given an exclusive livery, painted in “XP Green” on the outside, while the interior is finished in a Saddle Tan leather that complements the exterior design. The interior also gets some green bits here and there, as well as a specialized plaque on the dashboard. Overall, it looks like a balance of a vintage and a modern vehicle.
The model that these 570GTs pays tribute to was actually introduced back then to keep up with the FIA homologation rules. And after the company has seen the success of the McLaren F1 race car, the company came up with a “Longtail” model, which they referred to as the F1 XP GT. The company even had to build a road legal version of this too. What really resembles the 570GT with the F1 XP GT would be its green and tan colour scheme, as you can see in the photos.
With only six examples, who are the six lucky people who will get their hands on one of these? Well, what we do know is that these examples will be sold in the UK, Germany, and The Netherlands. Furthermore, McLaren shared that the MSO-specified parts on the customized model are worth £21,000 (around $28,500).Read the entire article McLaren Special Operations (MSO) makes 6 specially painted 570GT collection cars
Does the RS Edition and its LSD feature deserve all the media attention? The short answer to that is yes. Let us explain why. Ford today has revealed its new Focus RS Edition together with the complete details about its latest features, price and specifications. While on stage at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new hatchback is seen to be wearing a stunning new look while dressed in Nitrous Blue body paint and fitted with blackened front splitter, spoiler, roof, and black 19-inch wheels.
The hatchback’s stunning new features are also seen along the RS Edition’s more angular and more aggressive front grille and bumpers which are even more enhanced with its massive spoiler and large exhausts down the vehicle's rear section. Beyond the menacing appearance, you will also find Recaro carbon fibre sports seats inside plus a pair of folding side mirrors on both sides of the exterior.
What’s more interesting however is that the new model receives Ford’s 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine, which is capable of up to 350PS that would allow the hatchback to run from a zero to 60mph in as quickly as 4.7 seconds. Needless to say, Ford has added the latest mechanical Quaife limited slip differential (or LSD) that should significantly improve the RS Edition’s handling and traction more than ever.Read the entire article Ford Focus RS Edition rises a notch higher with new Quaife limited-slip differential
While the FJ Cruiser was no longer sold in the US since 2014 with the Trails Teams Edition being its final model, Toyota has now decided to terminate its production altogether. But before the FJ Cruiser takes its final bow, Toyota will first produce the stylish SUV’s Final Edition which is to be offered exclusively in Japan. If you still don’t have it, now is your last chance.
A little over ten years since the FJ Cruiser first came to the US, the SUV will be exclusively sold to its home market as the Final Edition. In other words, you won’t find a single copy of this in the US or anywhere else which makes it even more special. The FJ was available in America from 2007 up to 2014 only. While the Japan-spec has been around for as long as we can remember, the last batch for production will be featuring a special set of 20- inch alloy wheels, a model-exclusive side steps, a redesigned rear bumper with flog lights and a fender mounted left view mirror.
The FJ Cruiser Final Edition, which will only come in all- beige color both at the exterior and the interior will have some few black accents to spice things up a bit. At the same time, the retro-inspired SUV has been enhanced inside and out for a distinctively modern touch. However, some things stayed the same. Like for example, under the hood comes the 4.0-liter V6 gas engine mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to both the SUV’s front and rear wheels. Everything about the exterior still feels very retro, judging by the color and the shape of the vehicle. We could go on by saying there’s nothing quite so modern about its interior too. But changing it entirely will take away the whole essence of the FJ Cruiser.Read the entire article 2017 Toyota FJ Cruiser Final Edition: A bitter sweet farewell
It has been five years since the second generation of the Toyota Auris was launched in Europe, and the compact vehicle managed to steadily receive the attention of C-segment customers in this part of the world. Now, Toyota intends to ignite anew the interest for the Auris in the 2018 model year by launching a limited edition model based on its Touring Sports wagon version.
The new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle Edition is simply a reinterpreted version of the Auris Touring Sports wagon. The Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition features a number of smart urban styling cues that help set it apart from a typical Auris Touring Sports wagon. For instance, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition is provided with a black front grille, rear privacy glass as well as door mirror covers in bright silver. Its wheel arch covers and side skirts are also finished in black while its front and rear underbody protections are wrapped in an aluminum finish. Interestingly, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition won’t be offered in a single specific powertrain package. Instead, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition will be made available in various powertrain options, including the conventional petrol and diesel engines as well as a hybrid drive. In terms of utility, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition offers up to 1,685 liters of cargo capacity when the rear seats are folded down.Read the entire article Toyota seeks to widen appeal of Auris compact with new Touring Sports Freestyle special edition
The latest iteration of the Lotus Evora – the Evora GT430 – has been described by the carmaker as its most potent road-going model so far. It is the lightest and most powerful Evora. But Evora is introducing a version of the Evora GT430 that is as powerful, but is lighter and faster. Welcome the new Lotus Evora GT430 Sport, which is available to order now.
Still powering the new Lotus Evora GT430 Sport is a 3.5-liter supercharged and charge-cooled V6 engine that is tuned to provide 430 hp (436 PS) of max output at 7,000 rpm as well as 440 Nm (325 lb.-ft.) of peak torque available at 4,500 rpm. This allows the new Lotus Evora GT430 Sport to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, as quick as the new Lotus Evora GT430.
The V6 engine sends power to the wheels of the Evora GT430 Sport through a six-speed manual transmission with a low-inertia, single-mass flywheel or – starting January 2018 – a six-speed automatic transmission that employs an optimized gearbox ECU for ultra-fast changes and lightweight aluminum paddles mounted to the steering wheel. The six-speed automatic gearbox will also be offered on the Evora GT430 starting January 2018.Read the entire article Evora GT430 Sport is now the lightest and fastest Lotus high-performance sports car
Ford Ranger is currently Ford’s best-selling pickup in Europe, delivering over 23,000 units since the start of 2017, that is a 12.1 percent increase compared to last year, and marks the best year for the Ranger since it launched. The Black Edition will solely be based on the Limited trim, and it will be featuring an Absolute Black paint, de-chromed, and a blacked-out grille, alloy wheels, bed bars and exterior details to match the look.
Some of the features this limited edition version includes would be a set of gadgets like the satellite navigation and SYNC 3 multimedia system, featuring an eight-inch touchscreen display, front parking sensors and rear view camera and dual-zone electric climate control. The power folding door mirrors are now heated, while it gets a set of seats with leather trim.Read the entire article Ford will be unveiling a limited-run Ranger Black Edition at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show
Japanese carmaker Nissan is now selling across Europe a new special version of its Nissan Pulsar compact family hatchback. More stylish, more elegant and more comfortable than the standard Pulsar, the new 2018 Nissan Pulsar Black Edition intends to remind everyone that the compact hatchback hasn’t given up in its goal to be recognized in its segment.
When Nissan introduced the Pulsar family hatchback three years ago in 2014, the Japanese carmaker had hoped this new challenger would take a good chunk of the compact hatch market. Although the Pulsar was an exciting proposition and did manage to capture some sales in Europe, it really never managed to present a good challenge against more established hatches in the C-segment like the Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, Seat Leon or the Ford Focus.
But still, Nissan is not giving up on its ambitions in the continent, and the evidence of this is the introduction of the new Nissan Pulsar Black Edition. As its moniker indicates, the new 2018 Nissan Pulsar Black Edition contains a number of black design accents, allowing it to become more stylish inside and out. The design of the new Nissan Pulsar Black Edition greatly reinforces its known attributes such as spaciousness and high level of safety. Nissan is hoping that the new Pulsar Black Edition would convince potential customers that the Pulsar is still a good proposition and there is a great reason to purchase it.Read the entire article Nissan starts taking orders for 2018 Pulsar Black Edition in Europe
Amid the excitement related to the solar eclipse, Nissan revealed two of its pickups, both in a special edition livery. Instead of waiting for auto shows, Nissan chose to debut its new models in the United States on this auspicious day. The Japanese manufacturer has not introduced new models. Instead, it unveiled a Midnight Edition for the following models: Titan, Titan XD, and the Frontier.
For the Midnight Edition, expect to see a blacked out version of the cars. To be more specific, the Titan model will now get a black front grille, headlight surrounds, foglight trim. And for the Titan XD, it gets additional blacked out fender louvers too. Smaller details like the mirror caps, door handles, badges and step rails also get a darker shadow like shade too. Other than that, they will now have a set of black painted 20-inch wheels to complete the midnight look. If you are not a big fan of all-black cars and would rather see some contrast, you can order the car in a different finish such as Gun Metallic gray and Pearl White.
The Midnight Edition package is not just limited to the car’s exterior. In the cabin, you will find Charcoal black accents together with black floor mats.Read the entire article Nissan introduces Frontier and Titan Midnight Edition models just in time for solar eclipse
The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V sedan will be getting a new paint job that will give it a unique icy feel. Dubbed the Glacier Metallic Edition, this special model was built in celebration of Cadillac’s 115-year history. That’s why only 115 examples will be built. When looking at this high performance four-door sedan with its cool light grey exterior, you will be reminded of an overcast winter afternoon.
Moving into the mechanical bits, the limited-edition CTS-V will have the same set up as the standard models. This means that it will still be getting the 6.2 liter V8 that produces 640 horsepower (477 kilowatts) and 630 pound-feet (855 Newton metres) of torque, that will work hand in hand with an eight-speed automatic gearbox giving power to the rear wheels.
As expected, the CTS-V Glacier Edition will be quite expensive, with an asking price of $103,885 including destination. For comparison’s sake, the standard version of the sedan starts at $87,990 - that is an additional $15,895 for the special edition model.Read the entire article 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition is perfect for winter, deliveries begin in September
Fifty years after its glorious victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford launches the 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition at the 2017 Monterey Car Week. The red racing livery with white stripes is a tribute to the Ford GT40 Mark IV and its team headed by racing legends A.J. Foyt and Dan Gurney during the famed endurance racing event in 1967.
Garen Nicoghosian, head of exterior design for the car, recounted how the first Heritage became a success. According to him, he’s attributing this achievement not only to its history in Le Mans racing but also to its modern interpretation. The first one is a tribute to the GT40 Mark II driven by Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren in 1966. Dubbed as the 2017 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition, its livery consists of black body paint with two silver GT stripes.
To carry on with its tradition, Ford looks back once again this time with the GT40 Mark IV race car from the year that followed. Considering the GT40 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for four consecutive years (between 1966 to 1969), we can now safely assume this ’67 GT won’t be the last Ford Heritage edition in the series.Read the entire article Monterey Car Week: 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition pays homage to Le Mans win
If there is one model that British carmaker Bentley could pay tribute to, it must be the Continental GT grand tourer. After all, the Continental GT is the first model that Bentley has launched since it became a part of the Volkswagen Group. When it was introduced in 2003, the Continental GT marked the renaissance of the marque, and became the first Bentley to employ volume production methods.
Thus, 14 years after the introduction of the first model – and right on the heels of the launch of a new generation of the beloved grand tourer from the United Kingdom – Bentley is unveiling a special edition that pays tribute to the Continental GT itself: the Continental GT Timeless Series. As its moniker indicates, the limited edition model presents how timeless the Continental GT has been for the British carmaker, even after 14 years of existence.
Essentially, the Timeless Series is derived from the Continental GT Convertible, but has been made more contemporary and more luxurious with the addition of an array of exquisite features and design options. Bentley hasn’t said how exclusive – in terms of the number of examples – the Timeless Series is, but as a limited edition, this droptop offers a number of elements that distinguishes it from a typical Continental GT Convertible. For instance, the Timeless Series features bright upper and lower front grilles as complemented by the Timeless Series badges and tread plates.Read the entire article Bentley pays homage to the Continental GT with limited edition Timeless Series
Would you like your convertible to be inspired by a yacht? Well, you do not have to imagine it anymore - thanks to the Bentley Continental GT Convertible and Mulliner for building one. With its size and opulence, there is no doubt that a yacht would enter your mind when seeing this model. This was made possible by Mulliner, which gave it the Galene Edition treatment. Overall, it has a droptop just like that of a yacht. In case you were wondering, Galene is a very apt name as it’s from the Greek goddess of calm seas.
For Mulliner to achieve this look, they had to work with Princess Yachts for some design cues that are necessary. For instance, the Continental GT Convertible was finished in a Glacier White paint that is accented with a Sequin Blue stripe on the lower end of the car, matching the dark blue roof. The convertible is equipped with a set of 21-inch polished Propeller Wheels.
The interior has plenty more design elements that you would associate with yachts. The cabin is made of a combination of Linen, Portland, Brunel, and Camel tinted leather - creams, taupes and nudes that will make you feel like you’re on a high-end boat. This is complemented by the cabin’s trim in the same Glacier White paint. There is even a hand-painted image of the super yacht on the dashboard for more detail, which was made by illustrator Jaume Vilardell. The trunk floor is more unconventional this time, with the open-pore Pinstripe Walnut finish. You can also find the same finish on the center stack and around the gearshift.Read the entire article Bentley Continental GT Convertible Galene looks very much like a yacht
Earlier this month, Porsche introduced to us the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. The car wore a Golden Yellow Metallic paint. The same time it was launched, the company said to interviewers that a “range of other carefully selected exterior colours” will be offered for the same model.
They did not mention when the new shades will be revealed, but the company has just shared photos of the special edition 911 Turbo S in other liveries. The most eye-catching of them all would probably still be the one in gold, but the other two, in gray and in white, are also looking good. All three models have matching accents - that is a pair of carbon strips on the front hood and the roof.
The company ensures that the Exclusive Series looks distinct from the standard Turbo S, by adding more carbon fiber accents all over. What makes it even more unique though is that only 500 units will be produced, and each of them features a special plaque mounted on the passenger’s side to prove its exclusivity.Read the entire article 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series shown in new photos

Mercedes-Benz will release more premium edition variants of its latest models that are closely based on the same concept of the SLC RedArt and SL design Edition. The car in question is the new GLE Coupe OrangeArt Edition which offers a model-specific upgrade.
In a bid to attract more consumers, the German marque will be offering its pseudo SUV-coupe with the premium edition treatment. The new variant is offered in a couple of black shades as well as in white, gray or silver hues. A new Pagani Huayra BC has just arrived in the United States and its delivery was taken by a rich client who goes on Instagram as “Sparky18888.” The new owner of this particular Huayra BC is definitely a fan of Pagani, as he already has a similarly named Huayra (The King) in his garage.
Sparky18888 – who described himself as an owner of various exotic cars – christened his new Pagani Huayra BC as “Kingtasma.” This nickname was purely evident on the gold crowns under each of the aero flaps located on the rear end of the Huayra BC. Its regal stature was also evidenced by the fact that this hypercar from Pagani features a large part of its body wrapped in red carbon fiber. This elegantly dynamic finish is further accentuated by red pinstripes on the side skirts and on the engine bay as well as around the cabin.
Other distinctive elements found on The King of Sparky18888 are the three colors of the Italian flag “Il Tricolore” (green, white and read) and a host of carbon fiber-clad parts. The Huayra BC badge at the rear end of Kingtasma is finished in red.Read the entire article Red carbon-fiber Pagani Huayra BC dubbed the Kingtasma arrives in the US
Fifty years ago, engineers Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher left Mercedes-Benz and decided to rent a barn in Burgstall an der Murr just by Stuttgart where they created the “AMG Motorenbau und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH”. To keep you enlightened, “AMG” comes from the initials of their surnames, while the “G” comes from the initial of Grossapach, that was Aufrecht’s hometown back then.
A decade after AMG has been established by the two, the headquarters was moved to Affalterbach, but development of race car engines remained in Burgstall. In 1993, AMG became popular when people knew that they were the ones upgrading Mercedes models. This was the beginning of a new collaboration between both companies, and the C36 was the first mass-market car launched to compete against the BMW M3 (E36).
On January 1, 1999, Daimler-Chrysler bought 51 percent of AMG shares, then renaming it Mercedes-AMG GmbH. And by January 2005, Mercedes-AMG has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG.Read the entire article 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 50 celebrates five decades of AMG
