Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot to appear in new James Bond movie, SPECTRE
Besides the impressive Aston Martin DB10, the new James Bond movie, SPECTRE, will also show some impressive vehicles from both Jaguar and Land Rover. According to the official press release, the new movie will include vehicles such as the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot, all of them provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
The Jaguar C-X75 supercar will be featured in an impressive car chase sequence filmed through Rome alongside the Aston martin DB10, while the scenes including the Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot will be filmed in Austria.
Land Rover said that the Defender Big Foot features huge 37-inch diameter off-road tires in order to tackle extreme terrain, as well as a bespoke suspension and enhanced body protection.Read the entire article Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot to appear in new James Bond movie, SPECTRE
For quite some time now, we have been seeing the Jaguar F-Pace SVR being tested on the roads. We last saw it near the Nurburgring but this prototype was in a camouflaged suit even as it showed off its new performance credentials. Nevertheless, we will not have to wait too long until we see the prototype stripped off of its camouflage, and in person. Jaguar has officially announced the F-Pace SVR’s debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show.
If asked about the model, the automaker will say that the Jaguar F Pace SVR is currently the fastest and most powerful of its kind. This is because it had been equipped with a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine that works with a 10 speed automatic transmission.
This engine, when in the F-Pace SUV, is slightly detuned. But this can also be found in the F-Type SVR and carries out 567 horsepower (422 kilowatts) and 516 pound feet (700 Newton metres) of torque. Suspension and brakes will get an upgrade, and we also expect a similar raucous exhaust note like that of the F-Type to be carried over as well.Read the entire article Jaguar F-Pace SVR to be launched at the 2018 New York Auto Show
It’s a given that Sports Utility Vehicle could never take on a supercar. A Mercedes G-Class for instance, or even a Mitsubishi Outlander, would find it hard to outperform a supercar like the Ferrari. All that is about to change with the Range Rover Sport SVR from Land Rover.
Driven by Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver Ho-Pin Tung, this performance SUV set a new unofficial record at Tianmen Road. Located in the Hunan Province in China, the Tianmen Mountain Road is well-known for its 99 turns, making it one of the best ways to test man and machine.
The record for completing this 11.3-kilometers (7-mile) ascent was in 2016 by a Ferrari 458 Italia clocking in 10 minutes and 31 seconds. Taking an average speed of 68.8 km/h (42.8 mph), the new Range Rover Sport SVR managed to traverse the same in 9 minutes and 51 seconds.Read the entire article 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR beats Ferrari’s record at Tianmen Road
A vehicle with an SVR badge is considered as a special vehicle with higher levels of performance. Not all Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles have received the badge, and one of these unfortunate models is the Jaguar XF midsize luxury car (saloon and estate). But for now, people could stop dreaming about the Jaguar XF SVR. However, it is interesting to see how a Jaguar XF SVR would look like even on paper.
Thankfully, there is someone – an automotive designer named Aksyonov Nikita of St. Petersburg, Russia – who might be able satisfy that interest. After all, Nikita has already rendered an SVR version of a 2017 Jaguar XF saloon. Since it is just a rendering, this model – the 2017 Jaguar XF SVR – could only remain in the imagination of people longing for a high-performance version of the saloon. Nonetheless, the rendering by Nikita shows how the Jaguar XF SVR might look like – with more black details, a rear wing, a front lip spoiler, quad exhausts as well as other details that makes this higher performance version look sportier and faster.
Jaguar and Land Rover models that have received the SVR badge from the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) are vehicles considered to have reached the pinnacle of performance as defined by Jaguar Land Rover and with attributes like power, handling and speed. If the Jaguar XF is to receive that badge, there is a need to justify why it has to bear the SVR name. But the sad thing is that even people at Jaguar are thinking that the XF won’t need the badge. However, it is incorrect to think that the Jaguar XF doesn’t really deserve the SVR badge; it is only that there are other vehicles in the brand’s stable that are on the priority list.Read the entire article Jaguar XF SVR gets rendered
Did you know that Spectre, the 24th movie instalment based on Ian Fleming’s novel, had ten Land Rover Defenders to use back in 2015? Well, that is because the producers asked Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations to build ten heavily customized crew cab 110s especially for James Bond’s villains.
All ten vehicles were then taken to Bowler, Land Rover’s British racing partner for a wide range of upgrades including an uprated 180hp over the standard 120hp engine output. Included in the upgrades as well were Recaro racing bucket seats, harnesses, a full- roll cage, a new set of 37-inch tyres plus a warn winch with rope at the front. For complete control during an action-packed sequence, Bowler had also equipped the entire fleet with Bilstein rally shock absorbers.
But since some of the vehicles got ruined while filming the movie, only a few have remained intact to this day. One of them is the Land Rover Defender SVX Concept that was sold to a private client immediately after the minor footages have been completed. This particular vehicle had only been used for drive-by scenes and it was unscathed throughout the movie. The owner has now consigned the massive off-roader to RM Sotheby’s for the annual London event this coming September 6. The auction house will offer the vehicle to registered bidders. The bidding will run for approximately four to five hours.Read the entire article Prepare to bid for Land Rover Defender SVX Concept from 007 movie at RM Sotheby’s auction
Ever since it was launched in 2015, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR has proven to be one of the most powerful, quickest and fastest SUVs. In fact, it was able to complete a lap in the Nurburgring circuit (technically a road) in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds. Only a few SUVs are faster.
When buying a vehicle, one of the many considerations that a possible customer takes into account is how quick it could accelerate from zero to 60 mph or 62 mph (100 km/h). The weight of the vehicle, its output and its torque are the main determining factors.
Usually, this sprint time is measured dynamically, which means all factors have been optimized to favor a quick zoom from standstill on an asphalted track or road. Realistically, a dynamic sprint time applies only partly to vehicles that are expected to be taken off the road – to the grass, gravel and snow, as well as to the mud and sand. It’s because these are low-friction surfaces, and only all-terrain vehicles like the Range Rover Sport SVR are able to remain quick.Read the entire article 2017 Range Rover Sport SVR sprint ability tested in real-world conditions [w/video]
The dialogue has always been part of the allure of any James Bond movie. More often than not, however, the dialogue involves sexual innuendo since seduction and charisma are part of the portfolio of skill sets that 007 cultivates.
It’s rare to find a James Bond movie that attempts to reach out directly to the audience and the real world. Yet, Spectre, the latest in the 007 films, executes a fine fourth-wall breaking scene when M, now played by Ralph Fiennes, tells the agents in the Double-0 program that they could be phased out in favor of wire-tapping, drones and other technological advancements.
007 himself will not agree that spies are ready to be obsolete, because nothing beats being there, face-to-face with the villain and being at the right place to remove the threat. It is this kind of personal conflict that defines Spectre and it is the source of tension between the characters.Read the entire article Spectre pays homage to James Bond film, introduces fresh new take on long-running franchise

It appears that the BMW M3 will have a tough rival from Jaguar as the British manufacturer will offer a SVR version of its upcoming XE compact sedan. According to AutoExpress, the Jaguar XE SVR will use the well-known 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that will produce a staggering 490 hp.
The engine will enable the sedan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 4 seconds, while the top speed will be limited at 155 mph or 250 km/h. Just like the other vehicles from the Jaguar lineup using the V8 engine, the XE SVR will use the 8-speed automatic transmission.
