Peugeot is now accepting orders for the limited-edition RCZ ‘Asphalt’, which is characterized by the company’s special matt Telluric grey bodywork. There will only be 75 right-hand-drive Asphalt LEs to be produced for the United Kingdom. All of these units feature a bespoke high-level specification over the best GT trim and is powered by 200bhp THP petrol engine.
Distinctive features for this RCZ include ‘Asphalt’ badging, 19” Solstice black alloy wheels and matching black brake calipers, and an exclusive Matt exterior Telluric grey paintwork with black roof. Peugeot has unveiled a super-performance version of its popular Sports Coupé -- the RCZ R - at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The RCZ R is a merger of performance and efficiency thanks to its new 1.6-liter THP engine that provides 270bhp while emitting just 145 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer.
To further bring out the power of the RCZ R, it is fitted with a Torsen differential that allows high level grip efficiency and dynamic sensations. Bruno Famin, Peugeot Sport Director, remarked that the “strength of style” of the RCZ is further enhanced by its dynamic performance and the 270bhp of the R version.

At the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Peugeot will bring the new RCZ R, a high-performance version of its stylish coupe. As expected, the R brings extra power and as a result, the RCZ R features a 1.6-liter THP engine which develops 270 bhp (199 kW) and 330 Nm of torque. The RCZ R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph or 250 km/h.
CO2 emissions are only 145 g/km. With a mass of 1280kg, the RCZ R has a power-to-weight ratio of 210.94 bhp / 1000kg. Regarding the design, the RCZ R comes with a matt black roof arches, two-tone diamond / black matt 19-inch alloy wheels featuring an ‘R’ monogram, a larger fixed rear spoiler, new rear diffuser and two chromed exhaust pipes.
A Peugeot monogrammed ‘R’ in red lettering is identified on the grille and also placed on the boot lid as a signature ‘RCZ R’. Furthermore, the RCZ R was lowered 10 millimetres and features larger brakes and red calipers that are signed ‘Peugeot Sport’ (at the front). Discs with a diameter of 380mm and thickness of 32mm, are mounted on an aluminium hub. Magna Steyr revealed that it will be showing the world its capabilities when it comes to roof systems during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The exhibit will be held at Booth 6261 on Hall 6. For those not familiar, Magna Steyr is the operating division of Magna International Inc., the world leader in automotive supplies. It was during the 2012 Geneva Auto Show that Magna Steyr revealed its MILA Coupic concept.
For 2013, the roof system it will be presenting is an industrialized solution dubbed as the View Top. This is an advanced folding roof with glass elements integrated to it. It results in that distinct open-air feeling, be it closed or open. To describe the View Top, it is a combination of design and functionality. As already mentioned, it has transparent glass segments, all of which have been incorporated to the textile materials.
In addition to being narrower and wider, the glass components come with special curve pattern alternatives. This gives this model that perfectly formed look and corresponding appeal. Get ready for the launch of the restyled, new Peugeot RCZ in January 2013 in the UK. This model, which had its global debut at the Paris Motor Show last year, said that the restyling of Peugeot’s famous sports coupé is a major update to the vehicle’s front face, boosted by improved specs, a broader variety of equipment options with new colour and trim combinations.
For the UK market, the New RCZ will keep its two level ‘Sport’ and ‘GT’ range ranges. The Peugeot RCZ has just receive a facelift for the 2013 model year, which makes is sleeker, spotier and more elegant. As you can see from the photos, the new RCZ received a completely new front face which fully emphasises the power of its rear wings and the sensuous curves of its ‘double-bubble’ roof.
The new front grille is now accentuated by a lower air intake, which is extended on each side by a unique light signature, visible both day and night. According to Peugeot, this consists of six LEDs, subtly sculpted in the form of claws, behind a smoked lens which blends into a gloss black surround. Moreover, the RCZ Facelift introduces an enhanced option range in order to offer its customers the possibility to make it unique.

Peugeot has recently unveiled the Asphalt, a second special edition for the 2010 model year based on its latest RCZ sports car. This vehicle follows the RCZ Limited Edition that was launched in September 2009. This variant will be built in a limited number of units. And according to Luxist’s sources, the version will be produced in a limited number of units.
Peugeot expects to double its number of units and the RCZ Asphalt, with 500 of them being available for purchase. The RCZ Asphalt is finished in Noir Telluric matte black exterior paint and it features new 19-inch black and silver alloys for the exterior, and a pair of custom made sport seats covered in black leather for the interior.
All examples will also be fitted with a number of "Asphalt" logos on both the interior and the exterior. The latest Peugeot 308 RC Z, which will begin selling in the by May 2010, will be equipped with a Mini Cooper JCW 1.6 turbo unit that could generate about 218bhp. The latest model looks similar to the concept which was shown first at the Frankfurt show back in 2007.
The slight differences include toned down headlights, a less exaggerated curve along the bottom of the side windows and the shedding of the centrally located exhaust exit.
The proportions are almost equal. The production version will keep the typical Zagato-style roof protuberances and multi-spoke wheel design seen in the concept model. Anyone interested in an all-wheel-drive diesel hybrid Peugeot RCZ? If you are, you better let Peugeot know because it says that it would only make such a model if it sees a demand for it.
Peugeot will not have much difficulty in producing the hybrid coupe since the technology has already been perfected in the 3008 Hybrid4, with which it shares a platform. Due to go on sale in 2011, the 3008 hybrid will be displayed at next month's Frankfurt show in production form.

Pricing for the Peugeot RCZ Coupe starts from £19,900 when it goes on sale next spring. This is also one of the many cars set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Said to rival the 2+2 Audi TT rival, the Peugeot RCZ will have a choice of three engines and two trims. The lowest-priced model will have the 1.6-litre THP 156 engine and a manual gearbox.
Standard equipment includes alloy wheels, sports front seats, dual-zone air-conditioning, and a host of safety kit, including four airbags and ESP. For an upgrade to the second trim level that will cost £2300, you will get leather upholstery, electric front seats, automatic lights and wipers, and larger alloy wheels.
You're also going to get to choose from a range of personalization options, such as different roof panels and alloy wheels, sat-nav and a variety of styling enhancements.
