BMW fans in the U.S. will be pleased to know that for the 2014 model year, the automaker will launch a diesel version of the 3-Series wagon. Just last week, BMW and Audi divulged that they were planning to diversify the diesel offerings in the U.S. In fact, a diesel 3-Series wagon has already been confirmed.
This fall, expect the 328d xDrive Sports Wagon to arrive at U.S. dealerships for the 2014 model year lineup. The wagon will be different from the newly presented 328d, which was offered in both RWD and AWD variants as it will only be available with xDrive all-wheel drive variant. It will be powered by the same 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine, which boasts an output of 180 bhp (134 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) of torque.
This engine will be linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that will permit the 328d xDrive Sports Wagon to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in slightly longer than 7 seconds. This model has a fuel economy rating of 32 mpg city / 45 mpg highway / 37 mpg combined.Read the entire article Bmw confirms 2014 328d xDrive Sports Wagon for the US market
The 2014 BMW 328i xDrive Sport Wagon costs $42,345 (including $895 in destination fees), according to the “Build Your Own” section on BMW USA’s consumer Web site. It costs an additional $2600 (over the price of a 2013 328i xDrive sedan that’s similarly equipped) to get an extended roof, an additional pair of pillars, and a big (17.5 cubic feet) cargo compartment.
Just like its sedan sibling, the 2014 328i xDrive Sport Wagon is powered by a 240-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4, a standard eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. For now, the 3 Series Sport Wagon is offered in 328i xDrive form. The lineup will get a diesel-powered 328d xDrive Sport Wagon later this year. However, the price has yet to be revealed.
Just like other 2013 3 Series sedans, the new 2013 328i xDrive Sport Wagon is available with BMW’s Design Line packages, which combine content with distinct styling features. For example, choosing the Luxury line means that you get the chrome kidney grille bars and a matching exhaust tip, together with chromed side window trim and roof rails. The package includes a set of 18-inch multi-spoke aluminum wheels, a black and chrome key fob, and a choice from saddle brown, Venetian beige, or black leather seating surfaces.Read the entire article 2014 BMW 328i xDrive Sport Wagon US pricing announced
A two-door coupe and a wagon may soon join Kia’s GT Concept, which is expected to be unveiled in production form in 2013. Kia said that the GT may offer another lineup for the brand instead of offering a single halo model. The rear-wheel-drive GT, which was displayed at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, is powered by a 390hp turbocharged 3.3-liter gasoline V6 that comes with an eight-speed automatic.
This indicates that it will have a premium price as well as an upscale reputation. Kia said that the GT is a less expensive alternative to consumers who may be considering Audi's A5 Sportback and A7.
This makes Kia more capable in rivaling the premium brands in Europe. According to Chief Designer Peter Schreyer, who transferred in 2006 to Kia from Volkswagen/Audi, he hopes to engineer a budget sports car that will go up against the Mazda MX-5. However, he clarified that this isn’t presently included in the product plan.Read the entire article Kia GT coming in 2013! Will receive coupe and wagon versions!
Cadillac unveiled today the new Touring Package Sedan, Coupe and Wagon for the 2012 CTS models which offer some of the performance elements of its V-series product line on standard models. Starting at $2,065, the new CTS Touring Packages offer new features such as Recaro seats, microfiber suede inserts on the seats and steering wheel, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, a performance-tuned suspension, a V-series aerodynamic spoiler and performance wheel packages.
The 2012 Cadillac CTS Sedan and Sport Wagon are available with either a 3.0-liter or optional 3.6-liter engine, both Direct Injection V-6 units.
The Cadillac CTS Coupe comes as standard with the 3.6-liter V6. Each engine will have its own Touring Package available. For example, the 3.0L V-6 touring package option retails at $2,065 and offers 18-inch pearl nickel finish wheels; dual exhaust; dark finish grille; HID headlamps and fog lamps; V-Series aerodynamic center high mounted stop lamp (except Sport Wagon); suede seat inserts, steering wheel and shifter; midnight Sapele wood trim and metal pedals. The wide-ranging appeal of the 2011 Acura TSX sport wagon cannot be denied. If automotive journalists were to recommend a single vehicle for America that would satisfy the most people, it would probably be a diesel sport wagon with a manual gearbox. But then, not many Americans like diesels and wagons so this suggestion may not actually be that well-accepted. Honda Motor Co. said that its best bet is its 2011 TSX sport wagon.
That’s because it isn’t a diesel and it doesn’t have a stick shift but it is also a luxurious wagon utility that has a new grille. This wagon is sporty enough and it can rival the German Avants and American Cadillac CTS wagons. But with a starting price of $31,000, the 2011 Acura TSX sport wagon is far more attractive.
The TSX sedan adds four inches to the body and it replaces its fuel-efficient 2.4-liter DOHC with variable valve timing I-4 under the hood. The engine has an output of 201hp and 172 pound-feet of torque to make it race past the highway but then its rivals have more power as they use six and eight cylinders.Read the entire article 2011 Acura TSX sport wagon might be the perfect choice for you
The 2011 TSX Sport Wagon will go on sale within a few weeks and it has a starting price of $30,960 (excluding $860 for destination), according to Acura executives who spoke during the product briefing.
This makes it $1,350 more expensive than the slightly refreshed 2011 TSX sedan that made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The standard equipment for all TSX Sport Wagons includes a leather-trimmed interior, premium seven-speaker sound system, XM radio, USB audio with iPod integration, Bluetooth connectivity and a power moonroof.Read the entire article Pricing details for 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon announced

Although the demand and interest for the Waldorf Corvette Nomad was quite high General Motors never produced it. Some were just content with a homemade version of the Nomad.
The roof was later installed on the full-size Chevrolet station wagon and the Nomad became famous up to the 70s and the Corvette became a legend.
Although even with these positive elements the Nomad never saw the light of production beyond the concept model. To remedy the situation, the Molalla, Oregon-based Superior Glass Works will be coming out with a fiberglass-bodied homage to the Waldorf Nomad called the Superior 54 Sport Wagon.Read the entire article Limited Edition Superior 54 Sport Wagon enters production
Prior to the New York Auto Show, General Motors revealed today the brand new Cadillac CRS-V Sport Wagon, foreshadowing the next addition to its V-Series performance line. The new car carries the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine found also on the sedan and coupe, capable to deliver an impressive 556 hp.
The new CTS-V Sport Wagon offers six-speed automatic and manual transmissions and thanks to its powerful engine it pushes out 551 lb-ft of torque.
With these numbers, the car is capable to hit 60 mph in less than four seconds, which is in line with the rest of its V siblings. Despite its dimensions, the car loads on only about 200 pounds over the sedan.Read the entire article New York Preview: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon
Previously announced, the all-new 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon made its debut today at the New York Auto Show. The new Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon -- the next addition to athletic V-Series of the American luxury brand -- was unveiled today at the New York Auto Show. The CTS-V Sport Wagon, which will be launched later this year, is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that can deliver 556 hp of max motive power. For the debut of a special version of the wagon dubbed as a show car, Cadillac will use the bright lights of New York.
This model won't go into production but some of its outfittings might be used for future trim packages. The show car is featured with a unique rear fascia and upper spoiler.
The new Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon rounds out the CTS line, which can loosely be considered as a sub-brand for Cadillac. This car joins the landmark sedan, which has contributed to the brand's rebirth through design and performance, and the coupe which will launch this summer. All versions also now have V editions. Cadillac seeks to position its performance line similar to BMW's vaunted M models.Read the entire article New York Auto Show: 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon
Have you heard about the $40,000 psychological barrier when it comes to car prices? Apparently, Cadillac believes in this and has decided to cut almost $1300 off the price tag of the CTS Sport Wagon, bringing its base price to $39,150.
This price is still about $3000 more than a base 2010 CTS sedan and about $5000 above a base SRX crossover, which is now Cadillac's least expensive vehicle.
Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell said that even if the SRX and CTS wagon are both five-door Cadillacs, the SRX has little to do with the lowered pricing. Caldwell disclosed that this change in price is about making some adjustments to its marketing approach in order to strengthen its position with CTS in its competitive class.Read the entire article Cadillac cut prices on its 2010 CTS sport wagon
