The automotive world is intensely competitive given the growing number of players, but the British car manufacturer is adamantly holding on to its spot. The 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake, priced at $70,450 will soon be joining Volvo V90 and and Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the battle for the best luxury wagon--- both in the US and the rest of North America.
Bearing the price tag of $71,445 inclusive of destination charge, Jaguar’s new luxury estate wagon will be head to head with Volvo’s $49,950-$55,950 V90 as well as Mercedes Benz’s $62,300 E-Class in this tough competition.
While the XF Sportbrake is significantly pricier than the XF sedan (which carries a starting price of $47,775), the S-specced, all-wheel drive wagon has been armed with additional cargo space, a sunroof and a 380hp 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine. Its trunk capacity is at 20cu.ft which is expandable up to 60 cu.ft. when the seats are folded.Read the entire article 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will soon be available in the United States
Nowadays, crossovers are all the buzz in US, but not everyone prefers the ride height and dynamic tradeoffs that are offered with that body style. For these consumers, the wagon is a top choice. And those who are in search for the perfect midsize wagon can have more than one option to choose from this winter. Geared to go head to head with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon and Volvo V90, the 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will now enter the wagon game with a base price in the low- $70,000 range.
Jaguar has unveiled the new wagon variant of its second-gen XF named the Sportbrake. Taking the covers off the wagon at the Castle Bromwich factory where the vehicle is set to be produced, Jaguar designers and engineers claimed that they are confident that they have created a class-leading wagon. But Jaguar doesn't need to convince the German consumers of the Sportsbrake's capability as the previous generation variant of the vehicle had outsold the sedan model 60 percent to 40 percent there, but this doesn't automatically mean that the admiration for the wagon will also be the same in other countries. Still, the Jaguar Sportbrake will be sold in the coming months in China and US.
The XF Sportbrake is also offered with a premium air suspension that helps carry huge loads. A cool option also awaits the Sportbrake in the form of a creative panoramic glass roof that will provide the passengers an unobstructed view of the sky. The German marque revealed that it wanted to make the glass roof bigger, but due to the 63-inch (1.6m) length limitation of the oven capacity of the company that supplies the panes, Jaguar was unable to fit a larger glass roof.Read the entire article 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake unveiled, will arrive this winter

Jaguar introduces the XF Sportbrake, which is based on the automaker's world-famous sporting saloon. The latest model extends the practicality and versatility of the saloon while retaining the core values of muscular and dramatic elegance, contemporary luxury and a dynamic driving experience. The XF Sportbrake develops on the extensive refresh that the XF saloon for the 2012 model year has received.
This new XF model is entirely new from the B-pillar backwards. It is accented with a very different aesthetic, highlighted by its polished finish and exemplified by the tautly drawn elegance of the side-window line. The XF Sportbrake features a dynamic, broad-shouldered stance, thanks to the conjunction of flowing back window graphic, estate roofline and rising waist.
The design-led strategy that developed the exterior of the XF Sportbrake has been achieved concurrently with the aim of maximizing practicality. The extended roofline provides passengers in the rear an additional 48mm of headroom. The seats come in both an integral ski hatch and a 60:40 split fold function. The load-space opening has a remote-fold lever which enables the seats to be stowed flat conveniently and fast to provide a cargo volume of at most 1,675 liters.Read the entire article 2012 Geneva: Jaguar reveals XF Sportbrake based on famous sporting saloon
Jaguar is studying plans to expand sales of its new XF Sportbrake outside of Europe. Images of the sports car were released last Wednesday before it will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show. A Jaguar spokesman said that this is a “Europe-only car” for now but they may be offered in other markets in the long-term.
Jaguar has already said that the XF wagon won’t be offered in the U.S., where wagons are not as popular as they are in Europe. The XF Sportbrake will go up against the wagon versions of the BMW 5-series, Audi A6 and Mercedes E class. The Jaguar spokesman said that this new car will provide access to 30% more of the medium premium car market. Jaguar said that initially, the XF Sportbrake will make up about 20% of XF sales.
The spokesman added that this figure could increase. Jaguar will be competing with more established brands as this is actually its first wagon since production of the X-Type was stopped in 2008.Read the entire article 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake may be sold outside Europe
The new Jaguar XF Sportbrake – the most versatile Jaguar ever built -- was unveiled days before it makes its public debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The Sportbrake is built on the same underpinnings as the XF saloon. Overall, it is longer by only 5mm. Its weight is lower by 70kg and its chassis structure is a match to the strength of the conventional XF.
With these features, the Sportbrake nearly matches the excellent handling of the XF saloon but it provides a big and very useful load space. All the panels on the XF Sportbrake, from the B-Pillar rearwards, are new. The strong silver signature line that runs along the car’s length is extended. Meanwhile, the C-Pillar has a gloss black finish, a characteristic that’s similar to that of the XJ saloon.
The car’s rear is dominated by a bold chrome crossmember that features slim rear light units. As a result, this car merges style and function as it gains from having 48mm of additional rear headroom. Buyers can ask specifically for power struts on the big, practical tailgate that opens to show a wide and extremely versatile load space.Read the entire article 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake is ready to smash the competition
Want to know what the Jaguar XF Sportbrake will look like when it is unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show? Some official pictures of the XFSportbrake have been leaked online, days prior to its scheduled launch. The pictures, which seem to be scanned from a brochure, shows the XFSportbrake featuring a sleek window line and a boot-lip spoiler.
The pictures also show that Jaguar gave the XF Sportbrake the same disguised C-pillar treatment as the Jaguar XJ. It looks like the XF Sportbrake carry similar rear light arrangement from the saloon. Aside from that, the XF Sportbrake also appears similar to the saloon model from the B-pillars forward.
Jaguar created the XF Sportbrake to compete with the Audi A6 Avant and BMW 5-Series Touring. The XFSportbrake retains the sleek profile of the XF saloon and may feature the same load-lugging capacity as its potential Audi and BMW rivals, and may even be better. Jaguar retained XF Sportbrake’s approximate wheelbase as well as its rear overhang, allowing the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate to carry more luggage – beneath the floor.Read the entire article Jaguar XF Sportbrake pictures leaked online
The launch of Jaguar’s XF Sportbrake station wagon is eagerly awaited. This model is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. This is likely to go up against the wagon versions of the BMW 5 series, Audi A6 and Mercedes E class. Matthew Overall, dealer principle for Jaguar Brentwood in Essex, southern England, said that he believes this model would add 20% to 30% of “additional sales on top of the XF at the moment.”
No official delivery date has been announced but it’s expected that the delivery of XF Sportbrakes will start toward the end of the year.
Overall told Automotive News Europe that the company is hoping to get but the dealers needed it “sooner rather than later.” He said that Jaguar wants to improve on its offering of just three models and is now preparing to offer new cars soon. Spy images of Jaguar’s upcoming estate version of the XF (named Jaguar XF Sportbrake) while it was being tested were released for the first time. Scheduled to be launched in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show, this load-lugging XF is expected to use the Sportbrake name when it enters production. These pictures were snapped outside of Jaguar’s Whitley engineering centre.
It appears to have a roofline that gently slopes. It also has a sharply raked tailgate and subtle rear spoiler for the Sportbrake that add to keeping the sporty profile of the XF saloon.
The Sportbrake appears to be the same length as the 4961mm-long saloon, as the rear overhang has not been increased. It’s believed that Jaguar engineers gave the XF Sportbrake with a load capacity comparable to that of the Audi A6 Avant with 565-litres and BMW 5-series Touring with 560-litres.Read the entire article 2012 Jaguar XF Sportbrake coming to the Geneva Motor Show
