More than a year after introducing the widely acclaimed ATS GT prototype at the at the luxurious Salon Privé exhibit, Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) has finally presented the final and production version of the supercar – the new ATS GT Launch Edition -- at the prestigious 2018 Monterey Car Week at The Quail.
The ATS GT Launch Edition takes inspiration from the 1964 ATS 2500 GT, a small coupe designed by Franco Scaglione, developed by ATS co-founders Giotto Bizzarrini and Carlo Chiti, and built more than 50 years ago. Back then, ATS only built 12 examples of the 2500 GT. As it seeks to honor the original model, ATS is also building 12 examples of the new GT Launch Edition.
Designed by ATS chief designer Emanuele Bomboi, the new ATS GT Launch Edition boasts of an aerodynamic bodywork -- made of carbon fiber – that reinterprets the original design of the 2500 GT. It features unique side-blades and seemingly floating rear lights. These rear lights are designed to extract the hot air from the engine bay. The GT Launch Edition makes use of the company’s Sistema-Trio hand-welded titanium with mufflers.Read the entire article ATS GT Launch Edition finally unveiled with base price of €740,000
The only hybrids that automotive customers can get now from Porsche are its Panamera four-door saloon and its Cayenne sports utility vehicle. While the German sports car maker has confirmed that it would build a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 sports car, that won't happen in the near term. For those who can’t wait for Porsche to offer a 911 hybrid, Vonnen Performance is offering to convert your sports car into one.
Porsche’s main reason for not offering a hybrid version of the 911 is that the German company still doesn’t believe that the current battery technology is on par with its expectations for its venerated sports car. But with the rapid pace that the battery technology is growing, that could happen in the next few years. Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume had said that a 911 hybrid may arrive on the mid-cycle refresh of the 992 generation, which should happen by around 2022 or so.
Because Porsche won't do a 911 hybrid now, Vonnen Performance is offering to do so for 911 models built between 2012 and 2016. This also applies for other Porsche offerings currently not having a hybrid version, like the Boxster and the Cayman. The conversion kit and the entire setup would cost a Porsche owner around $75,000.Read the entire article Vonnen Performance is offering to convert Porsche 911 into a hybrid sports car for $75,000
If you’re anything like us, it has been ages since there was a new model that truly got you excited. Well, we’re willing to bet that this newest supercar will blow you away. After relentlessly teasing us, the American-made mid-engine racecar with street-legal credit has finally had its premiere. It has so many things going great for it, where do we start?
First, let’s talk about the company. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (or SGC) is a limited edition sports car manufacturer from the US founded by automotive entrepreneur and film producer, James Glickenhaus. Not considered mainstream, SCG has become popular for having been responsible for the P33 or SCG 003 that made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show back in 2015. What happened after that is certainly worthy to be placed in history books.
SGC has recently been granted the right to build up to 325 turn key cars a year by the NHTSA. Having been given the low volume status means they are allowed to design a supercar that only needs to conform to the emissions and safety standards of the state where it is being registered.Read the entire article Scuderia now taking preorders for road-legal SCG 004S, price starts at $400,000
There is no question that the new BMW M5 (F90) high performance sports sedan is more powerful, faster and more enticing than the previous model. But for interested customers in the United States, the question would be how much they need to shell out to get behind the wheel of the new BMW M5.
US customers could now pre-order the new BMW M5, and are expected to take deliveries of the new performance sports sedan in spring of 2018. While the previous BMW M5 could be availed at a starting price of $94,100, the next generation of the sports sedan comes with a base suggested retail price of $102,600 in the US. This was revealed by one of the account users in the Bimmerpost forum.
According to this forum member – who goes by the username Dinan-M – he pre-ordered a new BMW M5 and got a 10-percent military discount. It would be safe to assume that this Bimmerpost user was a member of the US military, and thanks to that, he only has to shell out $92,000 for his new BMW M5.Read the entire article 2018 BMW M5 (F90) has a base price of $102,600 in the US, deliveries start in spring
After the highly dynamic Polestar 1 two-door coupe – Polestar’s first ever production car -- was recently unveiled, not a few people’s curiosity was piqued as to how much they should shell out to purchase a unit of this 600-hp four-seater hybrid coupe. Sorry to say, but Polestar isn't planning to sell its first production model in a conventional manner. Not yet at least.
According to Polestar’s plan, customers could get hold of its Polestar 1 performance coupe only through its subscription plan. This means that no one will be able to buy the Polestar 1 coupe, but instead they have to become subscribers to the company’s plan. The subscription plan is good for two to three years. Once the subscription period has expired, a subscriber has to return the Polestar 1 to the company, or its representatives would knock on his or garage to pick up the performance coupe.
As for the returned model, it would be refurbished to return it to its near-pristine state, and would then be made available as a pre-owned model also through a subscription plan.Read the entire article Polestar 1 will cost up to $177,000
The 370Z is one of Nissan’s oldest two-door models. It was first introduced to us back in 2009 and this year, the Japanese automaker finally gave it an upgrade for the 2018 model year to give it a much-needed contemporary finish.
Naturally, it will get exterior and interior changes, as well as some technological upgrades. For instance, the door handles and the rear bumper fascia will now be finished in black. Furthermore, the headlights will be getting a darker tint treatment similar to the rear combination lights on the outgoing model, which used to only be available on the Nismo model.
2018 Nissan 370Z will now be riding on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the 18-inch set found in its predecessor. As you can see in the photo, the Nissan model is finished in a Red Metallic exterior paint that is now an option that customers can select.Read the entire article Updated 2018 Nissan 370Z now available with new infotainment unit, red metallic paint
This is the time of the year when automakers give us teasers and previews of their upcoming models. Now, it seems like BMW is ready to unveil the M5 (F90) after a series of teasers, spy shots and leaked photos online.
So far, we know for sure that it will be a very powerful car, as it will be equipped with a 4.4 liter biturbo V8, allowing the M5 to yield as much as 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) at 5,600 to 6,700 rpm, and 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-metres) of torque. This is indeed an upgrade compared to its predecessor with only 575 hp (428 kW) and 500 lb-ft (677 Nm) of torque. This powertrain will be working with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic gearbox, giving power to all four wheels via an M xDrive system, with an option to shift from 4WD, 4WD Sport, 2WD, or to completely turn off the stability control. It will also have a few driving modes including: Efficient, Sport, and Sport Plus.
Given that power, the M5 can now perform much better with the 0-62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) sprint, reducing it to just 3.4 seconds, before it continues on to reach a top speed of 155 miles per hour (250 kmh). But this can be pushed even further to 189 mph (305 kmh) when the limiter is removed.Read the entire article 2018 BMW M5 (F90) is even more powerful and faster, order books will open in September
The current generation of the Ford Focus will be axed next year as the new-generation 2018 Ford Focus RS will take its place, and this is sort of a good news - bad news situation. The bad news is that CarsDirect disclosed that the next-gen 2018 Focus RS is priced from $41,995- an increase of $5,000 compared to its 2017 model. It costs more than a Mustang GT premium and is priced much higher than the 2017 Honda Civic Type R's expected $35,000 price tag. But on a positive note, the extra $5,000 will give you an extremely well-armed RS.
If the disclosed price is in any way true, it will be $5,000 more expensive than the standard price of the current-gen Focus RS which demands only $36,995 (including $875 for destination cost). This sudden increase in price might seem shocking, but this 2018 Ford Focus will be released as a limited-edition model that will be well-equipped for the new model year. The hot hatch will have the RS2 package, which is set as an option on the current model for an added $2,785.
The package flaunts a heated, leather-bound Recaro seats paired with 8-way power adjustment for the driver, heated exterior mirrors and 3-spoke steering wheel and will also have a voice-activated navigation system. There's more, as there will be a carbon-fiber trim meant for door handles, handbrake lever and the bezel found around the boost gauge.Read the entire article 2018 Ford Focus RS Limited Edition has starting price of $41,995

Those who are willing to dish out this amount of money must move quickly before these mean machines will be sold out.
The 3rd of kin and the most impressive member of the AMG GT clan boasts of pure power and decreased weight for dynamic performances. It is worth the wait after all, since the expert engineers from Affalterbach have managed to take off some load from the sports car and at the same time squeezed more power from the biturbo 4.0 L V8 engine to make the Coupe a worthy adversary in its league. The biturbo V8 can produce a whopping 577 hP (430 kW) and 516 lb-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque, delivering 74 hp abd 37 lb-ft more compared to the S model.
A 7-speed dual clutch gearbox delivers the torque directly to the rear axle. Its first gear currently has a longer ratio, and the 7th gear has a shortened one to empower a far more better acceleration. The German automaker remarked that the GT R Coupe can accelerate up to 60 miles/hour (97 km/hour) in only 3.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of up to 198 mph(319 kph), which is 0.2 second more quicker that its S version predecessor . Weight-wise, the new AMG GT R weighs at around 3,428 lbs (1,554 kg)- which makes it lighter than the S version (90 kg less).Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R rolls out this summer in US, see final pricing details here
