Subaru has already announced that the all new Impreza will be out by fall this year. The 2018 model year not only gets a number of new upgrades, but it will also be getting a price hike compared to the previous model year.
Before we talk about the price, let us first begin with the new features it will come with. The entry-level Impreza 2.0i has been given more technology with the new power windows and locks, and the new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apply CarPlay.
The Premium, Sport and Limited trims now have a safety feature wherein the headlights will automatically turn on when the windshield wipers have been activated for better visibility. Apart from this, the Premium trim also comes with heated front seats, and it will be riding on 16-inch alloy wheels.Read the entire article 2018 Subaru Impreza comes with new safety features, $140 increase in price
Subaru’s second model to be sold on the Global Platform would be the new generation Impreza. And we just learned that it will make its first appearance this September 12 at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show for its European debut.
The Impreza retains its predecessor’s unique set-up that is a flat-four boxer engine, but now with an all-new Subaru Global Platform underneath it.
The Japanese company is proud to say that the Impreza is very different from the previous model as it is 70 percent stiffer, at the same time, it improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent. The overall suspension of the car has also been re-engineered to even lower the Impreza’s center of gravity.Read the entire article 2018 Subaru Impreza revealed in photos ahead of its debut at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show
Shortly after the 2017 Geneva Auto Show, Subaru with the help of Mark Higgins and Prodrive racing team, pull off a stunt that no one has ever done before, leaving the people with goosebumps, heart palpitations, and jaws dropped to the floor.
Mark Higgins, who hails from the Isle of Man, started his motorsport career at the age of nine as he took up karting. He then became a professional at the age of 17 after being noticed by Roy Dixon for his talent. Since then, he has competed in a range of motor sport activities such as karting and trail biking.
The three-time British Rally Champion (1997, 2005 & 2006), was also the stunt driver in a couple of James Bond films namely Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, plus many other film and TV sequences. He is also the record holder of the Snaefell Mountain Course at the Isle of Man TT - but take note, he drove a Subaru WRX STI, instead of a motorcycle.Read the entire article Video: Watch how Bond’s stunt driver takes the Subaru WRX STI sideways in bobsled run
Subaru just commenced sales of the fifth-generation Subaru Impreza months ago starting with the 2017 model. It was very impressive with its new appearance, but we won’t be able to see its new looks on the Impreza WRX or WRX STI soon, especially if the current generation of these performance models was just introduced in 2015. At the earliest, the next generation high-performance Impreza model would be available by the end of the decade.
But while the upcoming 2018 Subaru Impreza WRX and the Impreza WRX STI won’t sport completely new looks, the changes made were what many customers, fans and enthusiasts were waiting for – a more dynamic performance and a more aggressive appearance to match.
Just like on the WRX, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI boasts of a revised suspension tuning. Not only that, Subaru tweaked the DCCD AWD system by employing electronic control, thereby resulting to a quicker and smoother response. It also gave the 2018 Subaru WRX STI a set of newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels – with the Y-shaped spoke design – wrapped in 245/35R19 tires. Behind the wheels is the upgraded Brembo Performance Brake System with yellow-painted brake calipers.Read the entire article Subaru upgrades looks, performance of 2018 WRX and WRX STI models

Subaru introduced the Impreza Sedan Concept at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. What makes this all-new Impreza so remarkable is that it is the first of the brand’s next-gen vehicles to be built on a new modular platform. Compared to the previous generation Impreza, the new model is not as angular and is quite sportier.
It also boasts of a more rugged and powerful stance as it uses the brand’s new Dynamic x Solid design language. However, this novel design isn’t limited to the Impreza and will be seen in Subaru’s upcoming vehicles. Upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the car’s front, rear, and sides have been seamlessly united to form a solid and muscular body, a trademark design of Subaru.
Aerodynamics is improved by an integrated rear spoiler as well as a functional front valance. The brand, of course, has always made it a point to combine styling and purpose. For instance, its lines have been positioned well to offer character as well as boost the vehicle’s dynamics.Read the entire article Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept seen at 2015 LA Auto Show

The concept is an embodiment of FHI’s Mid-Term Management Vision that was announced last year. Dubbed as “Prominence 2020,” the vision will put forth next-generation strategic vehicles, the first of which is the recently revealed Impreza 5-Door concept.
Because of this, the compact vehicle carries excellent aesthetics employing Subaru’s Dynamic & Solid design and a premium feel despite being marketed as an entry model. This premium-like design and feel is expected not only in the Impreza but in future models as well.Read the entire article Fuji Heavy Industries reveals new 5-door Subaru Impreza Concept at 44th Tokyo Motor Show

The latest accolade means that Subaru now has six models that have earned 2014 safety awards from IIHS -- three with Top Safety Pick and three with Top Safety Pick+ -- including the Legacy sedan and Outback models with optional EyeSight.
The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Subaru WRX comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder 268 hp engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission.Read the entire article 2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI earn 2014 IIHS Top Safety Pick award
Subaru’s models -- Impreza and WRX – won’t anymore be available in the UK in the upcoming year. According to Autoexpress, Subaru’s dealerships in the UK will sell down remaining inventory. The new Impreza won’t be brought to the market. This model had recently started selling in Japan and the U.S. to the UK market in 2013.
This isn’t too surprising since the WRX has a niche status when compared to the Subaru Impreza, which has a wider lineup. The WRX is also one generation older than the new Impreza. The C-segment class is one of the biggest in Britain and Europe so the fact that the Impreza isn’t moving forward is a shock.
Subaru said that its focus will be on the XV, Forester and Outback models. It also added the BRZ to its UK range so that it could offer a performance-oriented model.Read the entire article Subaru Impreza, WRX will not be available in the UK starting next year
An extraordinarily strong sales performance by the Subaru Impreza helped Subaru of America achieve its second-best U.S. sales month ever. Subaru of America posted a 20% hike in year-on-year sales for the month of March. Bill Cyphers, Subaru’s senior vice president of sales, attributed the company’s strong sales performance in March to the all-new 2012 Impreza as well as to the Legacy.
Subaru posted a 214% hike in sales for the Impreza -- not including the WRX model -- in March to 8,545 vehicles, a record month for the model. The model’s quarterly performance is also something very impressive, as the Impreza sold 21,100 units for the first three months of 2012, compared to just 7,787 units sold for the same period in 2011.
Consumer Reports noted that the Impreza’s redesign was the main factor for the drastic increase in sales for the vehicle, which was not always a popular model. A Subaru spokesman, meanwhile, attributed Impreza’s titanic success in March to combination of factors, like “clever marketing.”Read the entire article Impreza boosted Subaru’s March sales figures
Sales of the 2012 Impreza, Legacy and Outback models from Subaru were halted on Nov. 25 over complaints on increased brake pedal travel. In addition, the recall for about 3,000 units already delivered to their owners has been issued. Parent company Fuji Heavy Industries said that the company got about 130 reports of the brakes being defective.
So far, it has confirmed the flaw on three vehicles. Subaru of America spokesman Michael McHale said that several customers have complained that the brakes “didn't feel right” and that the pedal travelled farther than it should.
However, he reiterated that there were no failure issues and accidents. Subaru would need to replace the master cylinder in order to repair the vehicle. McHale said that the 130 field reports originated from either dealers or dealership personnel that handle the cars. The NHTSA has already been informed and the recall notices are currently being distributed to vehicle owners.Read the entire article Subaru halts sales of 2012 Impreza, Legacy and Outback models due to brake problem
This S206 version of the Impreza WRX STI is a product of the STI tuning division of Subaru. Japan fans are in luck since this model will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show and is available in the country too. But it won’t be offered in the UK similar to the special STI-tuned S202, S203, S204 and R205 models that came previously. Subaru considers the S206 to be the “crown of its STI tune cars.”
The revisions to the S206 when compared to the standard WRX STI include additional power for its engine (which was exclusively built) and a group of sporty styling upgrades.
It also received a complete makeover for its suspension. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder boxer engine got an extra 20bhp over the standard WRX STI to reach 316bhp. Its torque was also raised by 18lb ft to 318lb ft. Other modifications include an improved twin-scroll turbocharger, STI-tuned ECU and sports muffler with lowered back pressure exhaust.Read the entire article Subaru Impreza WRX STI 206 revealed ahead of 2011 Tokyo Motor Show
What Subaru accomplished at the Los Angeles Auto Show was to confirm the U.S.-market name for its new small crossover and to give assurances to the media that the rear-drive-only BRZ doesn’t mean the end of its AWD hot rods. It was recently reported that for the first time, the next-generation WRX and STI will use their own distinct platform. As a result, this distances the enthusiast models from the workaday Impreza on which they were previously based.
Subaru added that the WRX will still be turbocharged and will have a forced-induction version of its new 2.0-liter “FB” boxer four. The STI version has an output of more than 300 hp. Using this new platform reduces the curb weights for both.
As they have different platforms, it’s understandable that “Impreza” will be dropped from the names of the next-gen WRX and STI when they arrive about two years from now. This means that enthusiasts will get to choose from among three models that have three-letter names.Read the entire article Next-generation Impreza WRX and STI models will carry a 300+ hp 2.0-liter engine
According to the latest reports, it seems that Subaru will begin selling the well-known Impreza WRX and STI performance models separately from the standard Impreza when the car will be redesigned next month. Moreover, the Impreza name will be removed from the derivates, which means that we should get used to the Subaru WRX/STI names.
The new cars will also get their own platforms when they will be redesigned in 2013. According to Bill Cyphers, senior vice president of sales for Subaru of America, this new strategy will allow Subaru to focus on the redesigned Impreza's improved fuel economy and added interior space.
New WRX and STI models will allow Subaru to market them more easily as performance cars and to give them interiors and features more appropriate for more expensive sports cars. Regarding the 2013 models, Cyphers refused to give any details, but he said that the STI will continue to be powered by a 300+ hp engine.Read the entire article Subaru to separate WRX and STI performance models from the Impreza
Official details about Subaru’s WRX STI haven’t been released yet but insiders have said that the high-performance version of the all-new Subaru Impreza will arrive at dealerships in the summer of 2012. It’s expected to be launched about a year from now. It will appear first as a 5-door hatchback but a sedan version may follow.
Subaru is planning to enter the WRX STI in numerous motorsports events. The hatchback may soon appear at rally events while the sedan competes in touring-car races. It’s still uncertain if the U.S.-spec WRX STI will be different from the home-market version but it’s likely that both will deliver over 300 bhp.
This model will be equipped with a new version of the FB flat-4 with a turbocharger. Sources say that the 2.0-liter engine has an output of 330 bhp and 324 lb.-ft. of torque, making it 8 bhp and 12 lb.-ft. higher than the existing domestic model. Even with the added power, its fuel economy rating will still be better.Read the entire article 2012 Subaru Impreza WRX STI: first details and specs
Sources say that Subaru’s next-generation WRX and STI production models won’t arrive for at least two more years. These models are based on the all-new 2012 Impreza that will start selling this November. While waiting, the existing models will continue to be in production. The purpose of the delay is to give time for the regular Impreza to gain a foothold in the market.
It will also give time for Subaru’s officials to respond to internal questions on whether the next WRX and STI would be more mature or if they will remain as visceral rally sleds, according to Caranddriver.
The last time that Subaru attempted to build a WRX for grownups didn’t go too well as the 2008 model was heavily criticized. The automaker announced a series of upgrades, of which the changes were most significant between the 2008 and 2009 WRXs. Its output increased from 224 to 265hp.Read the entire article Subaru WRX and STI models based on the 2012 Impreza are still far away
