Subaru reveals photos of the 2019 WRX, WRX STI Series.Gray

Subaru WRX and WRX STI fans will soon have a new special edition trim available when the 2019 model year debuts. These will be called Series.Gray and they will be available on both models. The special edition will come with a handful of appearance and performance parts inside and out, but this really isn’t considered to be new information. Sometime around the end of last month, Subaru announced the 2019 WRX and WRX STI and shared with us most of the details of the Series Gray models. What’s new for us would be some details and a number of photographs.

The Series Gray WRX was built off the WRX Premium trim that includes the Performance Package. New features include ultrasuede trimmed Recaro seats, eight-way power driver’s seat, JURID front brake pads, a moonroof delete, LED fog lights, keyless entry with push button start, and LED steering responsive headlights. The special edition will only be available with a six speed manual transmission. The WRX Series Gray comes with a price tag of $32,595.

If you are the type of person who would not settle for something common or usual, or want a more unique WRX STI, then the Series Gray may be right for you. When looking at it from the exterior, the package gets a Cool Gray Khaki paint, exclusive Crystal Black Silica badging, foldable exterior mirror, and 19 inch alloy wheels finished in black. 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA and BRZ tS arrive in the US this spring, pricing details released

Subaru customers and fans in the United States have been somewhat envious of their counterparts in Japan. This is because Subaru, most of the time, launches high-performance special edition models exclusive for the Japanese market. But this time, American fans and customers are getting what they’ve long wanted.

This coming spring 2018, Subaru will commence sales of not just one, but two hardcore limited edition models – the 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA and the 2018 Subaru BRZ tS. Each model will be available with just 500 units, with the WRX STI Type RA priced at $48,995 and the BRZ tS at $33,495. Prices exclude the $860 destination and delivery cost.

The 2018 WRX STI Type RA offers higher levels of performance through its reduced weight as well as upgrades made to its engine and suspension. Its 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine delivers 310 hp thanks to a new cold air intake, high flow performance exhaust, a retuned ECU and stronger pistons. The gearing of its six-speed manual transmission has also been revised.

There is a price hike for all Subaru WRX and STI trims for 2018 model year

It seems like an increase in price has become a trend for automotive companies lately. Genesis isn’t alone when it comes to this. Subaru had just announced that the 2018 WRX will have a price tag of $27,855, while the WRX STI will be at $36,955, inclusive of the destination free. And if you compare these prices to the 2017 models sold last year, you will see a slight difference across all trims.

For the Subaru WRX, there is a $340 increase from the 2017 models of the standard, premium, and premium CVT trims, while a more noticeable increase of $640 for the limited and limited CVT trims. The 2018 Subaru WRX STI, on the other hand, goes up further with a $940 increase compared to the 2017 model. The 2018 standard trim now costs $36,955 (from $36,015), and the two limited trims now have a price tag of $41,755 (from $40,815). Now if you’re reading this, you might regret not having purchased a 2017 model. Take note that there is a destination fee of $860 on top of the base price, which also increased by $40 compared to last year.

Physically, the 2018 WRX models have a more distinct look thanks to its more angular fascia. The limited trim, and all STI models have steering-responsive LED headlights as well.

2015 Subaru WRX S4 becomes official in Japan

As promised, Subaru unveiled the WRX S4, a new version of the WRX that will be exclusively in Japan. According to the official press release, the S4 tag is actually formed by four values: sports performance, safety performance, smart driving and sophisticated feel.

Earlier today we revealed you the WRX S4, but this vehicle wasn’t the only one unveiled by the Japanese company as Fuji Heavy Industries also introduced the 2015 Subaru WRX STI Type S. According to Subaru, the WRX STI Type S comes with the same chassis mods as the WRX S4 as well as with the Driver’s Control Center Differential (DCCD) fitted as standard.

Under the hood, there is the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 305 hp and 422 Nm of torque. The engine is bolted to a six-speed manual transmission as standard but as an option Subaru offers six-speed automatic gearbox.

When you love your wife you have to be prepared to do anything for her, or at least this is what everybody says. Subaru decided to use this idea in their latest commercial where it highlights the performances of the 2015 WRX STI. The so-called perfect man, wakes up ahead of its beautiful wife in order to prepare breakfast but they ran out of bread.

As a result, he jumps into his brand new 2015 Subaru WRX STI and hurries up to buy some bread before his wife comes to breakfast. The baker is even more hilarious when he comes out of his shop and prepares to serve his customer after he does some donuts.

Clearly inspired by the popular Gymkhana where Ken Block impresses with his Ford Fiesta RS WRC, the new video released by Subaru is quite impressive. For those who don’t know, the 2015 Subaru WRX STI is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged/intercooled 4-cylidner Boxer engine that delivers 305 hp at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm.
