Subaru is currently on fire. The Japanese automaker recently revealed to us the STI S208 as well as the BRZ STI Sport Edition that will both head to the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show next month. But other than that, they also announced that their three best-selling models, namely the XV, Impreza, and Outback will come in special variants wearing unique visual updates.
“Fun Adventure Concept” is what the XV will be embodying, and so Subaru is giving it new exterior features to give it better off-roading capabilities. It will be wearing a bright yellow paint with black accents like the cladding on the front fascia, side fenders and rear diffuser. It seems like the suspension had been adjusted to lift it a little off the ground. And the bike rack on the roof gives it a more off-road, or should we way rugged look?
If you are not into off roaders and prefer a more upscale model, you might find this Subaru Outback more interesting. Inside the cabin, it gets a higher-quality finish combined with the “ultrasuede” seats and panels and dark embossed silver accents. As for technology, it is now equipped with a new eight-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the outside, the grille has been made to look more aggressive, while new tires have been added to finish off the more luxurious treatment.Read the entire article Subaru’s best sellers get a special edition look for Tokyo
Subaru is yet to unveil the next generation XV in Geneva, but we can almost tell how it will look like. Apparently, a teaser of Subaru’s upcoming 2018 Crosstrek model has already surfaced both online and on social media platforms. At first impression, the production version of the new crossover is virtually the same as the XV concept that the Japanese brand had put on display at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. And by the way, the 2017 Geneva Motor Show will be on March 7. In the meantime, let’s analyze the teaser photo since it is all that we’ve got so far.
Although the image is somewhat hiding under its own shadow, the sporty and rugged appeal of the concept XV is apparent. Besides, you don’t have to be an expert here just to compare the previous concept with the final product. You can see its entire shape right on the spot including its wide and low body stance, two tone alloy wheels as well as the new integrated door handles and the mirrors on both sides.
But since the Japanese auto maker hasn’t said a word about the specs, we can only assume for now. As far as we know, the Crosstrek will be sharing the same platform as with the new Subaru Impreza. In this case, we’ll be expecting it to come with an updated version of the current model’s 2.0 litre engine along with AWD, improved fuel consumption and more spacious interior. If there is more, the compact crossover will also have the brand’s latest version of Starlink Infotainment system and EyeSight safety assistance technology on board. Also, it is supposed to be capable of running the latest Android Auto and Apple Car Play integration for your smart device.Read the entire article 2018 Subaru Crosstrek revealed through a teaser photo

Fuji Heavy Industries has dropped a plan to transfer output of the new XV Crosstrek to its Lafayette site in Indiana and will instead produce the SUV in Gunma, Japan, a person privy with the matter told Reuters.
The source disclosed that Fuji Heavy decided to make build the Subaru XV Crosstrek in Japan due to capacity limitations in Indiana as well as the relatively high price of the vehicle, which means that a Japan output would be better for the company.
Fuji Heavy had initially intended to produce around 65,000 XV Crosstrek annually in the United States, where it posted a 25-percent jump in sales for a record volume in the first 11 months of 2014.Read the entire article Fuji Heavy drops plan to build the Subaru XV Crosstrek in the United States

This makes it $4,000 more expensive than the base price of the regular XV Crosstrek, which is priced from $22,820 when it comes with the standard five-speed manual transmission.
Powering the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine coupled with a 13 hp electric motor that is built into the one-choice-only CVT. Subaru UK will cut the price of its Subaru XV compact crossover by £2,300, making the affordable model much easier to acquire. The price cut applies to every model in the Subaru XV range, which means a new XV could now be availed for a starting price of £18,995. The price cut could be due to a more favorable exchange rate between Pound Sterling and the Japanese Yen.
Thanks to its practicality, performance and fuel economy, the Subaru XV has won several accolades like the ‘SUV of the Year’ by 4x4 Magazine as well as industry recognition for its design and safety in Japan and the United States. The Subaru XV was also the best-selling car in Switzerland in August 2012. The Subaru XV comes as standard as an all-wheel drive.

Subaru is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, it has recently sold its six-millionth vehicle in the U.S. – a 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek sold in Georgetown, Texas. Subaru’s sales in the past few years have consistently increased each month.
According to a report from Just-Auto, Subaru is planning to raise U.S. production from 130,000 units each year to about 300,000 units a year as early as April 2016.
With this strategy, Subaru would have to boost the output at its Indiana plant and maybe even open a new plant too, in order to evade the high price of importing vehicles from Japan.Read the entire article Subaru sells its six-millionth vehicle in the United States, an XV Crosstrek
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the Dodge Dart as one of four new vehicles available in the U.S. to earn the "Top Safety Pick" award. The three other models are the Hyundai Motor Co. crossover Santa Fe, the Lexus ES 350 midsize luxury sedan, and the Subaru XV Crosstrek hatchback. Chrysler is relying on the Dodge Dart to be a top-selling small car.
The 2013 Dart is the first model that Fiat S.p.A. and Chrysler Group LLC jointly engineered and designed. Being named a "Top Safety Pick" means that the vehicle had a good performance in test crashes that evaluated front, side and rear impacts, and even rollovers. Reid Bigland, chief of Chrysler's Dodge brand, said that its engineers were able to deliver on their high expectations for the Dart.
Russ Rader, IIHS spokesman, said that the IIHS tested 180 vehicles for the 2012 model year. From that batch, 132 were awarded the Top Safety Pick designation. This December, the IIHS will issue its annual list of the safety report for vehicles available in the U.S. market.Read the entire article Dodge Dart, Lexus ES 350, Hyundai Santa Fe and Subaru XV Crosstrek named Top Safety Picks
The Premium trim level of Subaru’s 2013 XV Crosstrek has a starting price of $22,745 (which includes a $750 destination charge) while the Limited trim is priced at $25,245. Subaru is confident that the off-road-capable XV Crosstrek can fill this gap. The XV Crosstrek is based on the Subaru Impreza hatchback but to make it more rugged, its suspension was raised and it now has butch body cladding. It is basically the successor to the two-tone Outback Sport, which was offered some years ago.
The XV Crosstrek Premium is equipped with plenty of standard equipment such as a sound system that is Bluetooth and iPod-capable, cargo hooks, air conditioning, heated seats, roof rails, among others.Read the entire article 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek U.S. pricing announced
