2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a super car in GT guise

Aston Martin has finally unveiled its newest V12-powered flagship that combines the power and sportiness of a super car and the refinement and luxury of a GT – the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.

The new Aston Martin combines two names that have been considered memorable names. The name “DBS” is derived from an iconic nameplate that made its debut in 1967. The moniker “Superleggera,” on the other hand, is a tribute by Aston Martin to the groundbreaking innovative lightweight construction methods initiated by renowned Italian coachbuilder, Touring.

Thus, the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera brings the best of two worlds into one Super GT. It boasts of remarkable power and dynamics to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. At the same time, the new DBS Superleggera delivers a high level of craftsmanship as complemented by an opportunity for customers to personalize the Super GT according to their tastes and preferences.

Lamborghini trademarks the Huracan Performante, might just be the Superleggera Spyder

Many had wished that a Lamborghini Huracán Superleggera would somehow make a surprise debut at the recently held Paris Motor Show. Sadly, not a single Lamborghini appeared anywhere in sight. Much to everyone’s dismay, we are still hoping to see one in the next several months or probably at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March. While waiting for this to happen, allow us to share what we just found out.

Though there are no official announcements (yet) regarding the launching of a Lamborghini Huracán Superleggera, we are quite positive that things are likely heading this way. The spy pictures are literally everywhere. Only recently, the Italian automaker has also filed for a trademark in Europe and is probably for the new Lamborghini Huracán Performante. Although the trademark description has not been disclosed, the filing was placed under paper goods, toys, clothing, electronics and vehicles.

What we have at the moment are pictures of the Gallardo Spyder Performante, which we think will look brilliant if Lamborghini will come up with a possible combination of Spyder and Superleggera for the same. If the recently trademarked vehicle will follow Gallardo’s footprint, it would definitely be an awesome combination, don’t you think?

Lotus planning to build a Superleggera version of the new Esprit

Lotus is set to build the fastest and most powerful production car in Britain, a feat that McLaren, Bentley, and Aston Martin are also hard at work on. In an Auto Express interview, Lotus chief technical officer Wolf Zimmermann talked about plans to make a flagship Superleggera version of the next-generation Esprit.

The top officials of Lotus held the meeting to give more information about the New Era plan, which unveiled five new cars in June 2010 that it aims to launch in five years.

Lotus also talked about plans to produce a 2+2 Elite, the four-door Eterne, the Elise Evolution, and a city car named Ethos (which is a competitor to the Aston Martin Cygnet). Lotus also gave details about the next Elan, which will be placed on hold until 2017, when it replaces the Evora.

Lamborghini has introduced the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera at the Geneva Motor Show, which would cause jaws to hit the ground once you hear of its amazing abilities.

The car has a generous helping of carbonfiber and polycarbonate as seen on its side and rear windows. As a result, the car only weighs 1,340 Kilograms (2954 lb), making it 70 kilograms (154 lb) lighter than the Gallardo LP 560-4 it is based on.

This gives it the record of being the lightest road creature in Lambo's current range. The engine generates 10hp more to 570hp, giving the hypercar a weight to power ratio of 2.35 kilograms per hp.
