The next generation of the Jeep Wrangler (JL) is being touted by the brand as having more power, more features and more off-road ability than the previous JK generation. To back up its claims, Jeep laid down the specs and numbers for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler as the off-road specialist is unveiled at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Jeep will be commencing sales of the new 2018 Wrangler in the first quarter of next year. The very capable SUV will be available either as a two-door or four-door model. Customers have three trims to choose from: Sport, Sahara and the most off-road focused Rubicon. There are three top designs offered for new Wrangler: hardtop with a longer “gutter” and lighter removable “Freedom Top” panels; updated convertible top; and the new powered soft top that works like a canvas sunroof.
In terms of power source, three engines are available. One of these is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that offers up to 285 hp (209 kW) of output at 6,400 rpm and up to 260 lb.-ft. (353 Nm) of torque at 4,800 rpm. This engine is standard on all models of the 2018 Wrangler. Meanwhile, optional on all models of the new generation Wrangler is the 2.0-liter Turbo I-4 engine that could deliver 270 hp (200 kW) of max output at 5,250 rpm and 295 lb.-ft. (400 Nm) of peak torque at 3,000 rpm. Only available to four-door models of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is the 3.0-liter Ecodiesel V-6 that generates 260 hp of max output and 442 lb-ft of peak torque as mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission (850RE).Read the entire article Jeep reveals specs for the new JL-generation 2018 Wrangler
The teasing is finally over as Subaru has finally taken the wraps off its largest vehicle. It has recently introduced the final production version of the 2019 Subaru Ascent large SUV – including its specs and capabilities -- at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. This family-focused SUV offers a great balance between styling and versatility, while offering high levels of technology and safety.
Featuring three rows of seating for up to eight occupants, the new 2019 Subaru Ascent is underpinned by a strengthened and extended version of the Subaru Global Platform. Extensively employing high-strength steel, 2019 Subaru Ascent was built with particular focus on durability and rigidity as well as vibration resistance to provide a quiet interior and outstanding driving experience. To be built in Indiana, the new 2019 Ascent will arrive in early summer 2018 and will be available in four trim lines: base, Premium, Limited and Touring.
The assertive exterior design of the new Ascent is heavily influenced by Subaru’s “Dynamic x Solid” design philosophy. As expected, the new Ascent SUV looks similar to the Ascent SUV Concept unveiled at the 2017 New York Auto Show in April. At the best, the final production model is much like a toned down version of the concept, which is more muscular and more aggressive in nature. As shown, the new Ascent dons the Subaru’s signature hexagonal grille and C-shaped headlights as well as prominent wheel arches -- highlighting the brand’s Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive -- flowing into a horizontal character line. The new Ascent also features flared lower sills, as well as lower side and wheel arch cladding.Read the entire article 2019 Subaru Ascent officially unveiled at LA Auto Show
We are very much aware of the Lamborghini Urus’ powerful engine that produces an impressive 650 horsepower (484 kilowatts) and 627 pound feet (850 Newton metres) of torque. Thanks to its 4.0 liter biturbo V8, it can do the 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) sprint in as little as 3.59 seconds, before continuing to its maximum speed of 186 miles per hour (300 kilometers per hour).
Here’s the thing, with the massive six-digit price tag the SUV comes with, not a lot of people can afford to get their hands on one. And that is why Lamborghini came up with this solution. Nope, they are not lowering the price of the Urus, but instead, they have opened up the online configurator to the mass market, so everyone could have a chance to build the perfect Urus for themselves in the virtual world, without having to shell out a single dollar. The only difference is that they won’t be able to drive their creation.
The configurator will let customers choose from a total of 13 colour options including standard and metallic finishes - from Nero Noctis, Giallo Auge, to Grigio Nimbus and Bianco Icarus.Read the entire article 2019 Lamborghini Urus online configurator now available
The Lamborghini Urus got quite a bit of attention before it was officially launched. And when the Italian automaker took the sheets off of their newest 2019 Urus, there was a collective gasp as it was truly gorgeous. We could tell that it shares many cues with the original concept in 2012, but the latest model is just a bit more aggressive.
It will definitely stand out beside other SUVs with its new and unique look -- from its chiseled face, slim headlights, to the coloured accents in the grille. Of course, the Urus gets a very powerful engine under its hood.
Having said that, the Lambo’s successor comes equipped with a 4.0-liter biturbo V8, and this pumps out 650 horsepower (484 kilowatts) and 627 pound-feet (850 Newton-metres) of torque. It also returns an impressive 22.2 miles per gallon. This engine works with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission that benefits from a torque converter -- a first for the Lamborghini brand.Read the entire article 2019 Lamborghini Urus is the first Super SUV on the market
The Lexus RX midsize sports utility vehicle is known to offer high levels of luxury. But now, Lexus has managed to offer a third row of seats in the RX, and is bringing this more spacious SUV to the United States. The Japanese premium carmaker made this announcement upon the launch of the new 2018 Lexus RX L at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
As Lexus disclosed, the new Lexus RX L will be sold in two flavors: the RX 350L and RX 450hL. These models carry the design of their shorter siblings but are now capable of accommodating up to seven occupants, depending on the seating configuration chosen by the customer. At first, people might see the new RX L as the long wheelbase version of the RX. This isn't surprising, considering the fact that other vehicles usually have their cabin space expanded by lengthening their wheelbase. However, doing so might compromise both maneuverability and styling.
Thus, in the case of the new Lexus RX L, the Japanese premium carmaker didn’t add the third row of seats by lengthening the wheelbase. Instead, Lexus tapped on its expertise in vehicle packaging and extended the length of the body 4.3 inches (110 mm) to the rear, thereby lengthening the rear overhangs. In addition, Lexus had to make sure that third-row occupants still enjoy generous headroom. This was achieved by employing a steeper tailgate window angle than on the two-row RX models. Since the second row is positioned a bit higher than the third row, more foot room is created for rear passengers.Read the entire article Lexus unveils three-row 2018 RX L at 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show
It has taken many months of rumours and speculations before we actually get a confirmation from Jeep regarding the next generation Wrangler. And finally, the actual product is now exhibited at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. Mike Manley also took this opportunity to make an interesting announcement. During the event, he said that the car manufacturer does have plans to roll out a plug-in hybrid version of the Wrangler for the 2020 model year.
Though the boss did not share a lot of details about the new and improved Wrangler, we know that it will be partially electrified. And having said that, we could expect it to have a plug-in hybrid powertrain like that of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, which comes with a 3.6 liter V6 gasoline engine. This would likely be paired with two electric motors and a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
Here is the thing, there might be something about the packaging that might turn out to be problematic. And because of that, the Wrangler PHEV might actually feature its own setup. And if that is the case, it will likely still share most of the components of the Pacific Hybrid just like a lot of cars from FCA as part of their strategy to drive down costs related to development.Read the entire article Jeep confirms Wrangler plug-in hybrid for 2020 lineup
Nissan this week has announced more details regarding its 2018 Murano SUV including list of prices for each trim level. With a starting price of $30,550 for the entry level S, which is more expensive than the previous model by $810, the Nissan Murano nevertheless introduces a range of new updates and techs for safety.

The SV level trim has been added with rear cross traffic alert and blind spot warning while the SL level trim and the SV Premium are now equipped with intelligent cruise control.
Nissan apparently has put aside its ProPilot Assist technology on the latest Murano but instead will be offering the same on the new Nissan Rouge as an option.Read the entire article 2018 Nissan Murano SUV offers good value with plenty of new features for slight price hike
In a bid to get its share of spotlight in the ever-expanding SUV arena, Kia is finally sending its Pro Cee’d out the door by welcoming four new SUV models on stage. These four new SUV variants will be focused towards its European market, including a performance oriented shooting brake that is likely to be launched early next year.
While the Pro Cee’d has been discontinued, Kia is replacing the three-door hatch with exciting new models comprising of a crossover-type SUV, a sport –style wagon, a shooting brake and a long roof variant. The timing is perfect now that the Korean car maker is pushing its products more globally especially in Europe. In the previous year, Kia has sold over 89,000 vehicles in the UK where most of the sales are accounted for its SUVs --- earning the brand a larger market share versus Mini, Mazda, Land Rover, Fiat and Citroen.
With design references coming mostly from the brand’s current SUVs as well as from its popular Euro-spec Cee’d hatchback, Kia’s upcoming compact SUV line will be positioned just below its existing Stonic and Sportage models but otherwise on the same level as the Seat Ateca and Nissan Qashqai SUVs in the highly competitive ground.Read the entire article Kia gets rid of Pro Cee’d 3-door hatchback but shooting brake and SUV variants will launch next year
We’re willing to bet that the Bentley Bentayga is not the first thing that comes to mind for most people who are into off-roading and outdoor activities. It just doesn’t have that kind of reputation; also, it has a whopping price tag of $229,000.

Both companies have joined forces to fit a Field Sports accessory kit to the luxurious SUV, and this optional kit includes everything you need for the ultimate hunting car, believe it or not.

Of course, the storage is not just like any basic storage out there, as it has been finished in the finest, authentic handcrafted materials to make sure that it is still luxurious.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga Field Sports Edition by Mulliner is the most luxurious hunting car out there
Subaru is expected to finally remove the veil off the latest member of its lineup at the upcoming 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. By then, the public will have a complete look at the production version of the new Subaru Ascent large sports utility vehicle (SUV).
Subaru had first released the Viziv-7 Concept that was unveiled at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. This concept was a clear signal of Subaru’s plans to offer a large SUV. This was the brand’s answer to the growing clamor for an SUV that is much larger than the Subaru Outback and Forester. The superb response received by the concept egged Subaru to proceed with its plans for a large SUV. Around five months later at the 2017 New York Auto Show, Subaru took the wraps off the Ascent SUV Concept – a toned down version of the Viziv-7 concept. The concept was a blatant confirmation of the arrival of a future three-row SUV that will be named as the Subaru Ascent.
Now, it seems that the Japanese carmaker is all ready to make the public see the largest and newest of its SUV models, the Subaru Ascent. So far, the auto company has released a teaser image that shows the “Ascent” logo, the rear bumper with black plastic cladding and a brushed aluminum sill, as well as the rear light. Subaru hasn’t released full images of its new large SUV, but there have been spy pictures of the Ascent – in fully camouflaged form – circulating through the Internet. Judging from these spy images, the final production form of the Ascent is very much like a toned down version of the concept unveiled in April at New York.Read the entire article Subaru teases new Ascent SUV before official debut at 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show
On December 4, Lamborghini is scheduled to release the very much awaited Urus SUV, and a few days after that, an LM002 by the Italian automaker will be put up for auction by RM Sotheby’s at the New York Icons. The automaker says that the model will be sold by almost double the amount of the Urus, at $400,000 to $500,000.
Between 1986 and 1993, Lamborghini only produced 301 units of the LM002 production model, and only 48 of those were specifically made for the United States with the LM/American spec. This particular unit that will be auctioned off is actually one of them. Originally, it came with a price tag of $158,000, and it features a red interior and a black exterior.
Apart from this being a rare model, the LM002 also recently went through a restoration that lasted for five years - the whole package cost $325,000. One of the few things included in the package would be the new Pirelli Scorpion tires that are the same as those on the original SUVs. It had been installed with a modern Alpine stereo with Bluetooth as well. Even though the LM002 is decades old, it still has its original factory tool kit, as well as the assorted books and manuals.Read the entire article You could score this rare US-spec Lamborghini LM002 at RM Sotheby’s auction
At the end of this month, Toyota plans to reveal their new off-road SUV concept they call the FT-AC, which stands for Future Toyota Adventure Concept. So far, the company has not given much information on this model, but then they promised that the concept will have all the ingredients needed for your next adventure. If you would like to learn more about this SUV, better check it out at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The FT-AC’s teaser, as you can see, highlights the car’s headlights and LED lights up front. This gives us a slightly better look at the FT-AC. The concept looks more rugged with wider fenders and chiseled styling. The side mirrors also don’t look conventional, giving the car an interesting appearance overall.
The concept SUV now has groups of six LEDs on both sides of the front bumper, apart from the existing headlights, so lighting it up should not be a problem. The roof has also been illuminated.Read the entire article Toyota releases teaser of FT-AC off-road SUV concept before its official debut
The current generation of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class that has been in existence since 1990 (W463) is set to hit the end of the road soon. Automakers typically release teasers online before any new vehicle’s live debut. After the previews of the Mazda6 and the BMW X3, it’s now Lexus that has shared images of its three-row RXL SUV that will soon make its way to US soil. There’s no doubt about it. There is both good and bad news for fans of the Infiniti QX80 sports utility vehicle. Bad news is that this luxury SUV remains at its current second generation even after eight years in the market. Good news is that for the 2018 model year, the Infiniti QX80 is getting a major refresh. Slightly more than a year after launching the fifth generation of the Land Rover Discovery, the seven-seat passenger sports utility vehicle is getting a bevy of updates that should enhance its overall appeal. For the 2018 model year, the Land Rover Discovery will be available in six time levels and in more optional elements.
The powertrain update for the 2018 Land Rover Discovery saw the addition of the 3.0-liter Td6 diesel engine as one of the available mills for the Discovery SE trim. The battle for dominance in the market for large, luxurious body-on-frame sports utility vehicles is already heating up even before Ford commences sales of its new Lincoln Navigator SUV. This comes as GM decided to offer a trade-in deal that sees $5,000 off a new Cadillac Escalade.
Ford is all set to begin sales of the new Navigator SUV sometime next week. It is a massive improvement over the current iteration. There is also a massive step-up in price, with the new Lincoln Navigator having a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $72,055. As a new generation vehicle that boasts of being a far cry from the current version, the Lincoln Navigator is attracting a lot of attention, and that could potentially translate to huge sales.
On the other hand, GM is offering the Cadillac Escalade for the 2018 model year. While it is not an outgoing model, the 2018 Cadillac Escalade hasn’t received major enhancements since the 2015 model year. Although the Cadillac Escalade is expected to remain a dominant force in its segment, its sales superiority is being challenged heavily by the new Lincoln Navigator. In short, GM will be having its hands full defending its position in the luxury SUV segment until it rolls out a new generation -- or even a major update -- of the Cadillac Escalade.Read the entire article $5,000 discount is offered for trade-ins of Lincoln Navigator for 2018 Cadillac Escalade
