The Maybach sub-brand has already come to characterize utmost exclusivity among luxury vehicles. Thus, if Maybach unveils an all-new concept with “ultimate luxury” as part of its moniker, it would only be dutiful to take a peek at this new study. As not to disappoint, a new concept vehicle dubbed as “Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury” has just been unveiled by the sub-brand at the Auto China 2018 in Beijing.
As its name indicates, the new Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury represents how the sub-brand views the future of ultimate luxury, as packed in a shape of a premium crossover. Measuring 5,260 mm in length, 2,110 mm in width and 1,764 mm in height, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is practically a luxurious electric car powered by four compact permanent-magnet synchronous motors for a fully variable all-wheel drive configuration.
Total output is pegged at 750 hp (550 kW), with energy derived from a flat underfloor battery with a capacity of around 80 kWh. This battery allows the concept to travel more than 500 km as per NEDC, or over 200 miles as per EPA. The study has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.Read the entire article Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury is opulence visualized in a crossover
As we all know, the newest Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury will be officially revealed on April 25. However, even before its actual premiere, images of the said model had already been leaked on the internet. As you can see here, the same images were posted on CarNewsChina. Take note that these are actually the official shots of the new Vision Mercedes Maybach Ultimate Luxury. Some describe this SUV as a sedan with a tall roof and a lot of ground clearance provided by the jacked up suspension.
In fact, Mercedes refers to this as an SUV saloon that will meet the requirements of affluent Chinese buyers who are vital in the success of super luxury car sales worldwide. It obviously has similarities to rival models like the Bentley Bentayga and the upcoming Rolls Royce Cullinan.
As expected, it still gets the aforementioned “bold new grille”, which doesn’t differ from the vertical slats of the facelifted Mercedes Maybach S Class and the much longer Pullman version. In the back is a retro-like split window layout. Nevertheless, we still think that the design on the previous Vision concept looks better. We’re referring to the Vision Mercedes Maybach 6 from two years ago.Read the entire article Leaked Images: Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury electric SUV concept
We know of the Dodge Durango as a mean-looking SUV. But the automaker decided to make it look even more aggressive, now giving it as much as 475 horsepower (354 kilowatts). Now, with the Rallye design package, that’s another notch up for the three-row, 2018 Durango GT SUV. It now has cool exterior upgrades, together with a selection of new colour options.
The styling package consists of the following: a performance hood, front fascia, and LED fog lights. Meanwhile, the new engine cover adds two heat extractors and a cold air duct. Also, the new Durango borrows its front fascia and fog lights from the Durango R/T and SRT models before it.
New colour options include Vice White, White Knuckle, Octane Red, Redline Red, DB Black, Granite and In-Violet. Customers could combine this with 20-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels, or optional Brass Monkey wheels as part of the Blacktop package. Most of the changes can be seen here, and both the interior and the engine options stay the same.Read the entire article 2018 Dodge Durango GT can now be upgraded with the SRT-inspired Rallye Package
Earlier this year, we saw the Acura RDX Prototype in Detroit. And as it was very impressive, we hoped that the production version would be similar. That’s why it delighted us when the 2019 Acura RDX finally made its debut in New York and it appeared just like the prototype, inside and out.
Starting off with its dimensions, the 2019 model year rides on a new platform that stretches its wheelbase by 2.6 inches (6.6 centimeters), giving more space for both passengers and their things. The cabin still fits five people but it now has a fully flat rear floor due to certain revisions.
Acura’s structure has been made stronger, thanks to the high strength steel. It now features a five-link independent rear suspension at the back, electric power steering, and adaptive dampers - all these are supposed to sharpen the handling of SUVs.Read the entire article 2019 Acura RDX is dead ringer of Detroit prototype, shows major redesign from prior model
Lincoln’s luxury SUV, the Aviator, is the automaker’s newest vehicle to date. We were lucky enough to get a teaser of this a few weeks ago. It is absolutely gorgeous but do not be impulsive and place an order for one just yet. And that is because Lincoln said that this model is just a preview of the actual vehicle that is meant to arrive next year. So now, we can’t confirm yet whether this one is a concept or a prototype.
Joy Falotico, Lincoln Motor Company president, says that the Lincoln Navigator continues to turn heads and bring new clients to the brand. They are also pretty confident about the Aviator’s elegant design, state of the art technology and refined plug-in hybrid option, believing that this will draw even more clients to the Lincoln showroom. Among these customers are families who are looking for a high-performance three-row SUV.
It should be noted that this is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid. According to the automaker, it will likely be paired with a biturbo V6 electric motor as opposed to a modest gasoline engine. Lincoln says that the Aviator will be at par or may even surpass many of the supercars on the road today.Read the entire article 2018 New York Auto Show: Lincoln Aviator plug-in hybrid SUV offers supercar performance
Volkswagen had decided that the 2019 Touareg will not be sold in the United States market. But luckily for European customers, they will be able to acquire the German marque’s new flagship SUV. Now, it has a bold new look as well as a more high tech cabin. It will also be offered with a number of engines, like a pair of turbocharged 3.0 liter diesel options. The 2019 model is definitely an upgrade.
As you have noticed, the industry’s new trend is more focused on coupe style SUVs. Therefore, the 2019 Touareg is not immune, and is simply just part of the trend - at least in the real world. Now, rendering artist Aksyonov Nikita has reimagined the new Touareg as a sleek coupe SUV, and it looks incredible. You may have noticed that we have featured many of Nikita’s works in the past.
When looking at the rendering, you would notice that it keeps the same design elements as those of the original model - from the front fascia, which includes the matrix style LED headlights, to the more defined grille, and lower vents. The wheels are pretty new, which seemed to have been borrowed from the Arteon sedan, complemented by its teal shade. It is actually out back where most of the restyled elements can be seen.Read the entire article Rendering of 2019 VW Touareg sees it join the sleek SUV coupe trend
After several months of spy shots and teaser photos, the 2019 VW Touareg finally has been revealed and it seems like a very technologically fitted car in the United States. The third generation model will be available in Europe as a flagship model, setting the bar higher for near premium SUVs.
The Touareg’s dimensions not only has grown in size to have some more cabin space. In particular, it now measures at 4,878 millimeters long (192 inches), 1,984 mm (78 inches) wide, and 1,702 mm (67 inches) lower. The capacity of the trunk has expanded too, now with 810 liter when the rear seats are in place.
The 2019 model year now sits on new underpinnings, which enabled it to cut down 106 kilograms (234 pounds), thanks to a combination of materials like the aluminum (48 percent) and VW’S high tech steels (52 percent).Read the entire article 2019 VW Touareg adds technology and luxury, while cutting down weight

The vehicle was an autonomous Volvo XC90, and the victim was a female pedestrian who had just crossed in front of the vehicle outside of a crosswalk. The woman did not pass away on the spot, and was even brought to the hospital. However, she later died due to the injuries she had on her body.

In recent news, we have been hearing that Volkswagen’s next plan for their SUV lineup is a two-row, five seater version of the Atlas. The automaker then confirmed that the model will be built at their Chattanooga, Tennessee plant and that we should expect a concept version of it at the 2018 New York Auto Show later this month. At the moment of writing, the automaker has not given the new model a name, so it currently is being referred to as an “Atlas variant”.
Volkswagen’s desire to offer a wider range of SUVs in the US market was never a secret to the public. In fact, there had been reports about this late last year. In addition to that, we also heard during Chicago Auto Show that Volkswagen is planning on adding two more SUVs to join the Atlas and the Tiguan.
Now, speaking of the new VW SUV, it will probably have the same base as the Atlas and the Tiguan. Meaning that it will also sit on the MQB modular chassis. The company also added that this particular model was specifically designed and engineered to fit the United States specs. When you look closely at the teaser image, the design language simply matches the regular Atlas, with its wide horizontal grille and rectangular headlights on both ends.Read the entire article VW will soon reveal the five seater Atlas Concept at 2018 New York Auto Show
If you have the money to spend on a $229,000 Bentley Bentayga, there is also a high likelihood that you drive your luxurious SUV around the city with a couple more expensive items - could be a watch or in a different kind. Now, there is nothing for you to worry about when it comes to storing your valuables because Bentley now offers a storage box for the vehicle’s center console.
Moreover, there is no need to worry about losing keys to this because there actually is none, and it is replaced with a fingerprint scanner instead, making things much more safe and convenient.
It was Bentley’s Mulliner customization division that came up with the idea for this safe inside your car. Now, the center console has been turned into a secured space that features an aluminum cover with capacitive fingerprint scanner.Read the entire article Bentley Bentayga gets biometric security stowage with fingerprint scanner
It’s a given that Sports Utility Vehicle could never take on a supercar. A Mercedes G-Class for instance, or even a Mitsubishi Outlander, would find it hard to outperform a supercar like the Ferrari. All that is about to change with the Range Rover Sport SVR from Land Rover.
Driven by Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver Ho-Pin Tung, this performance SUV set a new unofficial record at Tianmen Road. Located in the Hunan Province in China, the Tianmen Mountain Road is well-known for its 99 turns, making it one of the best ways to test man and machine.
The record for completing this 11.3-kilometers (7-mile) ascent was in 2016 by a Ferrari 458 Italia clocking in 10 minutes and 31 seconds. Taking an average speed of 68.8 km/h (42.8 mph), the new Range Rover Sport SVR managed to traverse the same in 9 minutes and 51 seconds.Read the entire article 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR beats Ferrari’s record at Tianmen Road
After lifting the veil off the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the Japanese luxury carmaker is getting ready to take the wraps off the final production version of the third-generation sports utility vehicle at the upcoming 2018 New York Auto Show at the end of this month.
According to Acura, the actual reveal of the production version of the 2019 Acura RDX is set for March 28, 2018. The 2019 iteration of the SUV will be powered by a new 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine, which sends power to the Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system through a segment-first 10-speed transmission. When the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class was unleashed at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show, the rugged yet luxurious SUV revealed several updates both inside and outside. Since then, Mercedes-Benz has been unveiling the G-Class in different trims and packages like the Night Package and the menacing AMG Edition 1. Now, Mercedes is offering a new package laden with shiny metal accents – the new Stainless Steel Package.
Just like its name indicates, the Stainless Steel package has a number of added elements made in this material. For instance, the package adds elements to the G-Class like protective door strips, rear bumper accents, grooved rear bumper protection, running boards, sill protectors as well as spare tire carrier and three-dimensional star done in stainless steel. This package is in contrast with the Night Package that adds a number of dark details to the new G-Class.
The new G-Class is already an SUV that stands out from the crowd, but exterior packages like the AMG Edition 1, Night Package and the newly unveiled Stainless Steel Package makes the luxurious utility model more distinct than before.Read the entire article 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class gets brighter with new Stainless Steel Package

While Mercedes-Benz is still gearing up to unveil the Mercedes-AMG G63 at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show this month, well-known tuner Lumma Design is already previewing a bespoke tuning program for the new AMG version of the Mercedes G-Class. This preview comes in the form of the new Widebody Lumma G-Class.
As its name indicates, the Widebody Lumma G-Class is fitted with a widebody kit, as complemented by heavy-duty alloy wheels and a number of performance upgrades. It is derived from the AMG G63, which boasts of delivering up to 585 hp of output and up to 850 Nm. While Lumma Design might not be the only tuner that would take on the new AMG G63, its extensive personalization program for the luxurious G-Class performance flagship could be very appealing to those who have extra money to spend.
The new AMG G63 performance flagship is actually a fusion of robustness, near indestructibility, passion, perfection and power. This is why Lumma chose this performance flagship as the base for the Lumma CLR G770 widebody kit. One of Lumma Design’s latest creation, the CLR G770 is composed of different parts and components made from ultra-light carbon fiber. These include carbon fiber body panels as well as a full carbon fiber bonnet that features specially designed vents. The CLR G770 kit also includes carbon fiber wheel arches that extend the width of the AMG 63 by 40mm on each side.Read the entire article Lumma Design unveils new widebody kit for new Mercedes-AMG G63
Right now, the G63 is probably the highest spec of the G Class that customers can buy, but Mercedes-AMG will allow you to have an even cooler G63 if you are willing to spend a little more. A few weeks ago, we witnessed the sinister looking Edition 1, and now, the Affalterbach is showing us the optional Night Package for the reputable off roader in the AMG variant.
Though the aforementioned special edition model is only available for 12 months, the Night Package is not time sensitive. In fact, it will be available for the G63 for as long as we know. As its name suggests, the package includes a number of black styling elements on the outside. The only exception here is that customers who get the car in black as a base colour cannot order this package. We do think that this makes a lot of sense because then the accents will not be noticeable.
When customers tick the “Night Package” box, the turn signals will now have a black tint, while the side mirror caps, and the outer ring of the spare wheel will also get an Obsidian Black finish. Some parts of the front and rear bumpers, and the side skirts, will be finished in black too. The rear windows will then be tinted, and black underbody protectors finish off the exterior upgrades.Read the entire article 2019 Mercedes-AMG G63 Night Package has everything you could imagine
Finally, the refreshed 2019 Buick Envision has been revealed to us by the automaker. Buick then says that most of these changes on both its looks and its mechanism were made in response to their customers’ feedback for the crossover when the 2016 model year was launched.
The 2019 Buick Envision now has a new front fascia, with the new headlights and the grille that make the facelifted model look more like the other new Buick models. It now sits on a set of 19 inch wheels and the rear has got new taillights as well. HID headlights now come as a standard, and customers could go for the optional LEDs on the top two trim levels.
They can also opt for the optional 2.0 liter inline four engine that carries out 295 pound feet of torque, which is a good improvement from the previous 260. Power output, however, remains at 252 horsepower. This engine is paired to a nine speed automatic transmission instead of the six speed transmission on its predecessor.Read the entire article Refreshed 2019 Buick Envision gets aesthetic and power tweaks with optional nine-speed automatic
In the past couple of months, we have been seeing spy photos of the Nissan Terra, and finally, it is time to see the first official images of Nissan’s Navarra based SUV. The prototype is scheduled to make its debut at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show that will take place in April. And we are not surprised as to why the People’s Republic will host the worldwide unveiling of the said model. That is because the Nissan Terra will be first sold in the Chinese market, beginning in spring this year.
As for the exterior, the Nissan Terra has not changed that much, as most of the design elements of the pickup truck have been carried over. Similar with the interior, it doesn’t get many upgrades compared to its predecessor, so both models look very similar.
Having said that, the automaker wants to make it clear that the 2018 Terra is focused more on the company’s midterm plan which we know as the “Nissan MOVE to 2022”, while focusing on an array of frame and LCV models.Read the entire article Nissan officially unveils its Navara-based SUV dubbed as Terra
The Ford Edge Facelift recently made its debut with a United States specification, and now, it is time for us to see the new Ford Edge with its European face. We are slated to see the company’s most technologically advanced SUV ever at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show in early March, just before it goes on sale in European dealerships this year.
Similar to its American relative, the refreshed version of the European Edge will receive a wider radiator grille with unique finish that is different from every trim level. What’s also standard across the range now are LEDs on both the headlights and taillights, with LED daytime running lamps, which can be added as an option.
Under the hood of the European Ford Edge is the same 2.0 liter diesel engine, as the company decided that no gasoline motors will be added. Another highlight here is that the EcoBlue version of the diesel will be utilizing an advanced turbocharging system that enables it to carry out 238 horsepower (175 kilowatts). Ford promises that they have worked on the low-end torque and noise, vibration and harshness, while providing smooth and linear acceleration too.Read the entire article European spec 2018 Ford Edge Facelift debuts with new biturbo diesel
The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has recently been confirmed for the South Korean market but the automaker has also spoken about the fourth-generation model in the United States. It will be offered in a diesel engine in the powertrain range and it will start arriving in dealerships this upcoming summer.
The new generation will overhaul the model’s naming scheme. For instance, the smaller five-seater version will be called the Santa Fe instead of the Santa Fe Sport. While the larger, long wheelbase, seven-passenger version will be called the Santa Fe XL. This won’t be mistaken for the three-row, eight passenger SUV that’s being developed now as this will be getting a different name.
One problem that the automaker is facing now is the fact that when the buyer gets the new 2.2 liter turbodiesel four cylinder that produces 200 horsepower (149 kilowatts) and 320 pound feet (434 Newton metres), it is advertised to have a small third-row seat. As the brand specifically mentions that it is meant for occasional use, room might actually be a bit tight there.Read the entire article 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will arrive at US dealerships this summer
