Recently, Toyota developed its newest sports car range, the GR nameplate, which will make its way to Tokyo as production models. This will hopefully include the brand new Supra that Toyota has been developing with BMW. But together with these models will be the GR HV Sports Concept, which will make its very first appearance in public. It is a two-seater performance vehicle with a Targa roof similar to that of Toyota’s Le Mans prototype, the TS050 Hybrid race car.
The engine can be found up front, but it brings power to the rear wheels. There are some things about the GR HV Sports concept that will remind you of the TS050 Hybrid. For instance, the unique headlights upfront come with stacks of LED clusters where there are two horizontal units floating on top of three vertical headlights.
And that is not all, the design of the concept’s alloy wheels, as well as the spoiler, is also similar to that of the TS050 Hybrid. However, once you move on to the side profile of the car, it looks more like the existing 86. But then, it looks different up front and at the rear, also because it comes with a Targa configuration and not a regular fixed metal roof. It is also a little wider than the 86, and is 5mm taller. Speaking of the 86, Toyota once came out with a concept, which they called the FT-86. It was a convertible 86 that unfortunately never reached production stage.Read the entire article Toyota finally unwraps the GR HV Sports Concept with Targa top
Alfa Romeo is signaling with pure clarity its intent to enter the compact utility vehicle segment with a new concept that is currently being displayed at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland. This new concept car – the new Alfa Romeo Tonale – combines practicality, dynamism, style as well as electrification.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale show car essentially marks a new milestone for the brands. It is the brand’s first compact SUV, albeit in concept form. Moreover, the Tonale is Alfa Romeo’s first entry into the world of electric cars, although in plug-in hybrid configuration. For customers, the new Tonale serves as preview for the Italian carmaker’s up and coming CUV.
Alfa Romeo actually announced last year its product road map for the period covering 2018 to 2022. Aside from its current offerings of six models – MiTo, Giulietta, Giulia, Stelvio, 4C Coupe and 4C Spider – the brand is planning to cover 71 percent of the premium market with the new Giulietta MCA, the production version of the Tonale, Giulia MCA (LWB), Stelvio MCA (LWD), GTV and the 8C.Read the entire article 2019 Geneva: Alfa Romeo Tonale Concept previews new new plug-in hybrid CUV
Audi has finally taken the veil off its latest electrified creation at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show – the new the Audi Q4 e-tron concept. This new concept car is a compact four-door SUV that basically provides a good look at the German premium carmaker’s fifth batter electric vehicle that would enter the automotive market by the end of 2020.
Wrapped in “Solar Sky” paint finish, the exterior of the new Audi Q4 e-tron concept is only constrained by its compact dimensions pegged at 4.59 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width and 1.61 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.77 meters. It is almost impossible not to indentify the Q4 e-tron concept as an Audi, as the prototype is marked by on the front end by Singleframe with the four rings.
Furthermore, it is also fairly easy to distinguish the concept as an electric Audi e-tron as it features upright octagonal frame instead of a traditional radiator grille. Large inlets can be found extending from below the concept’s two matrix LED headlights to the front apron.Read the entire article 2019 Geneva Motor Show: Audi Q4 e-tron concept previews new compact SUV bound in 2020
It looks like Aston Martin will soon be following up its Valkyrie and Valkyrie AMR Pro offerings with a third hypercar. This comes as Aston Martin presented the design concept for the new AM-RB 003 at the 2019 Geneva Motor Showin Switzerland.
Its terms of styling and aerodynamics, the new AM-RB 003 shares the same fundamental philosophy with the Aston Martin Valkyrie. This is evident on the pronounced front keel and large rear diffuser. In addition, the AM-RB 003 features a variable airfoil that spans across the rear wing. This variable airfoil is made possible by a new technology from FlexSys Inc. – FlexFoil.
With this new system in place, the downforce AM-RB 003 can be changed without changing the physical angle of the entire element. This new system also virtually gets rid of the turbulence and the associated drag increase in present active wing designs.Read the entire article 2019 Geneva Motor Show: Aston Martin presents the AM-RB 003
It has been three years since Toyota’s luxury division, Lexus, unveiled the LC Coupe at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), which is also known as the Detroit Auto Show. Carlex Design isn't a beginner with regards to tuning the Mercedes-Benz X-Class. In fact, it has even created a version with Maybach-like appearance and features. It has also created Off-Road-focused and Urban-tailored versions. Now, Carlex Design seems to be not contented with how far it has gone with the X-Class and is now presenting a new concept design for the luxury SUV from Mercedes.
Indeed, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class represents the luxury side of pickup trucks. While offering a drive that is comparable to a sports utility vehicle, the X-Class also delivers a smooth, comfortable ride that is expected of luxurious vehicles. Just last month, Porsche unveiled the new 935 during the “Rennsport Reunion” motorsport event at Laguna Seca Raceway in California. Featuring a body evoking the legendary Porsche 935/78, the 935 is definitely a race car you would want to drive in the track. Nonetheless, it isn't car you can just drive on the road from your garage to the track. After all, the 935 is a track-only race car and can’t be driven legally on the road.
The problem of getting a track-only race car from a garage to the circuit without circumventing any laws or local ordinances has already been solved a long time ago. To solve such a logistic issue, teams or carmakers have been using transporters, which can be large enough to accommodate more than one race car.
Such a situation is the main theme of one of the latest creative visual projects of Igor Shikitov, an automotive designer from Moscow, Russia. Posted at the Behance social creative site on October 3, 2018, Shikitov’s work was aptly titled “Volkswagen Renntransporter.” After all Porsche is now part of the Volkswagen Group.Read the entire article Volkswagen Renntransporter is home on the wheels for your Porsche 935

Astronomers at ESA have been mapping the stars through the Gaia satellite. In fact, this project has already resulted to the observation of more than a billion stars. However, light pollution – especially from urban – makes the stars less visible. Thus, astronomers have been conducted follow-up observations from remote, hard-to-reach locations, also called as so-called "dark sky" places. In doing so, ESA’s astronomers have to bring them powerful telescopes, which have to transported safely and easily.
Embodying the Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept is appropriately suited to support this project. It is a solution to the enigma of how to transport telescopes for dark sky observations of the universe. It is properly equipped to tow on a bespoke off-road trailer the ultrahigh-power, observatory-class PlaneWave telescope, which can deliver detailed views of distant galaxies and nebulae.Read the entire article Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept is a powerful astronomy labs on wheels
