Honda launches campaign promoting Inner Beauty of 2014 Civic Tourer

Honda is launching a new TV advertising campaign featuring the 2014 Civic Tourer, which is arriving at Honda dealerships across the United Kingdom.  The campaign aims to convey the idea the beauty is not just about what can be seen on the surface.  The campaign titled “Inner Beauty” takes on the current trend in design, engineering and wider society that appearance is more important than substance.

The spot will take the audience on a journey through various objects like a golf ball, suitcase, chest of drawers and a guitar amp -- revealing the inner beauty of each. The spot will lastly focus on the new Civic Tourer as another example of ‘Inner Beauty’ -- dynamic and sporty-looking but is also practical and functional.

The new Civic Tourer boasts of a class-leading 624 liters of boot space and secret storage compartments, as well as hidden door handles, innovative safety features and Honda’s distinct “Magic Seats.” The spot follows up on the viral “Hands” film, which has already received nearly 10 million views and won two awards.

Honda Yuasa Racing to field Civic Tourer in 2014 BTCC

Honda Yuasa Racing is returning in the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) employing the same championship-winning team and driver line-up but with the new Civic Tourer race car. The new Civic Tourer race will be the only estate car on the BTCC grid when it debuts on the track in March 2014, to be piloted by Honda Yuasa Racing drivers Matt Neal and Gordon ‘Flash’ Shedden in the hunt for yet more titles.

Honda Yuasa Racing is eyeing a clean sweep of titles after the Honda Civics secured both the teams’ and manufacturers’ crowns for the fourth consecutive year in a row with Neal and Shedden almost getting the drivers’ throne in the 2013 season.

Shedden remarked that while it was disappointing not to retain the drivers title in the 2013 season of the BTCC, they are looking forward to a strong year for Honda Yuasa Racing.

2014 Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer UK pricing announced

Interested buyers could now order Vauxhall’s Insignia Country Tourer at a starting price of £25,349 on-the-road. The Insignia Country Tourer is derived from the Sports Tourer model, but features all-wheel drive, higher ground clearance and tougher styling. It was well-received during its unveiling at the recently held 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Interested buyers could choose between two trim levels. The Country Tourer trim, with a price range of between £25,349 and £29,709 on-the-road, features generous standard specifications like bi-xenon adaptive front lighting, power tailgate and front and rear parking sensors.

The Country Tourer Nav, with a price range of between £26,499 and £30,859 on-the-road, features the same standard specs as the other trim, but with the addition of Navi 900 IntelliLink sat nav with 8-inch color touch screen, multi-function touch-pad controller and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster.

Honda has disclosed details about the 2014 Civic Tourer that was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new 2014 Honda Civic Tourer was designed and developed in Europe. It is targeted at delivering outstanding versatility and functionality with an interior space of 624 litres (which makes it a leader in its class).

Civic Tourer’s design is not amazing but what Honda was able to do was to build a beautiful car that’s ideal for people with children or those who want a car that has a big interior space. Civic Tourer has a unique style characterized by a prominent line that runs continuously from the front A-pillar to the D-pillar making the impression of a floating roof line. Honda has extended the glass of the rear quarter to cover up the body work of the D-pillar.

Meanwhile, the rear door sash was increased by 17 mm compared to the Civic 5-door. The Civic Tourer has a trunk volume of 624 litres (with the rear seats up, up to window). Honda claims that the Civic Tourer leads in its class in the C and D segments when it comes to trunk space. Honda also said that the cargo area can fit in 3 large-sized Samsonite cases with the tonneau cover pulled over to hide the cases.

The first rear Adaptive Damper System in the world will be equipped in the new Honda Civic Tourer, which will be introduced in the United Kingdom in early 2014. This will the first time a rear Adaptive Damper System has been applied to a production model. The rear Adaptive Damper System features three settings -- comfort, normal and dynamic.

All of these settings were developed to improve stability and enhance comfort on different load and driving conditions that the new Civic Tourer may undergo. Adrian Killham, Large Project Leader at Honda, remarked that by introducing the technology in this format, they expect many customers to experience the benefits of this advanced rear Adaptive Damper System.

Honda developed and designed the new Civic Tourer in Europe, enabling the carmaker’s European R&D team to lead the creative and technical design process. The team banked on their experience of the demands as well as expectations of customers in Europe.
