Today, the most powerful Mercedes-Benz model you could get is probably the twelve-cylinder S65 and Maybach S650 – as both models have an output of 621 horsepower. However, VATH decided that they would produce something beefier than that, as they took both the coupe and cabriolet versions of the C63 and worked on their 4.0 liter biturbo V8 engine so they could give out a lot more power.
After VATH worked its magic on the C63’s AMG engine, it no longer gives out just 503 horsepower in the S specification. Instead, the V8 engine can now produce as much as 690 horsepower. This V63RS package, which includes the 187 horsepower boost, will cost you right around €12,800 (or $15,900), and that does not include value added tax yet. The upgraded engine is paired to a seven speed automatic transmission. Other upgrades include a new turbocharger setup and downpipe, together with an uprated oil cooler for the engine.
It isn’t just the horsepower that gets a boost, but of course, the torque as well. Before it has been modified, the C63’s standard was 516 pound feet (700 Newton metres), and now, it has as much as 664 pound feet (900 Newton metres) of torque.Read the entire article VATH-tuned Mercedes-AMG C63 V63RS delivers 690 hp
It was just last year that Touring Superleggera unveiled the Superleggera Sciadipersia coupe at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, a few years after the company launched the Disco Volante Spyder. Now, the 2019 Geneva Motor Show is playing host to the unwrapping of the roofless version of the Superleggera Sciadipersia coupe – the Sciadipersia Cabriolet.
As to why Touring Superleggera opted to create a version of the Superleggera Sciadipersia without a rood, Piero Mancardi, the carmaker’s chief executive officer, remarked that after launching the coupe last year, there has been pressure from new customers to develop an open top version. But since, Touring Superleggera has an undertaking with existing customers to keep its products exclusive, the carmaker decided to maintain the production run of just 15 examples. Now customers can choose whether to order Coupe or Cabriolet version.
An open-top grand tourer, the Touring Sciadipersia Cabriolet allows it occupants – up to four – to enjoy the thrill of an open air ride in supreme comfort, with the driver experiencing great pleasure in harnessing the immense power from its powerful V8 engine.Read the entire article Touring Superleggera unveils Sciadipersia Cabriolet at 2019 Geneva Motor Show
Alpina is releasing a new limited edition model that is essentially a more powerful and more appealing re-creation of the BMW 4 Series. This is the new BMW Alpina B4 S Bi-Turbo Edition 99, which would be sold either as a convertible and coupe versions, with deliveries set next year. As its name indicates, only 99 examples of the Edition 99 will be built.
This new BMW Alpina B4 S Biturbo Edition 99 is a limited edition model of the Alpina B4 S, which was derived from the BMW 4 Series. However, the B4 S is even more powerful and more dynamic than the high performance iteration of the 4 Series – the M4 Coupe. The Coupe version of the Edition 99 can be availed either as rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive (left-hand drive only). The Convertible model of the Edition, meanwhile, is configured as a rear-wheel drive.
While the 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged engine of the M4 delivers 431 hp of output, the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six mill inside the B4 S offers up to 440 hp (324 kW). It also delivers 442 lb.-ft. Mercedes-Benz has chosen New York City as the location to reveal to us the refreshed C63 AMG family. These comprise the coupe, sedan, and cabriolet. In fact, we have seen the pre production models being tested but finally, the automaker has decided to get rid of the camouflage.
Now, we finally see them in the flesh, and we would say that one of the most obvious changes would be the new Panamericana grille that is actually pretty standard across the AMG line. That’s not the only thing it has been given though, as the 2019 C63’s front fascia has slightly been reworked as well. Meanwhile, the rear part gets twin tailpipes with high gloss chrome and a tweaked rear diffuser.
Under the hood of this C63 is a biturbo 4.0 liter V8 that enables it to produce 469 horsepower (350 kilowatts), while the C63 S has 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts). The engine is paired with a nine speed wet clutch automatic gearbox, which has been replaced by the seven speed unit in the outgoing model.Read the entire article Updated 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 lineup gets digital cockpit, modified drive programs
We could sense that Volkswagen has some big plans for the new T-Roc compact SUV. In fact, on February 23, they announced that a cabriolet version is on its way to be produced in 2020. It will essentially be a convertible version of a new SUV that has not been established in the market.
A lot of us were actually surprised at the fact that Volkswagen announced this and the fact that they are coming out with a model that has a non-existent history of open roof crossovers.
Having said that, nothing is stopping the automaker from investing €80 million to bring the drop top T Roc to production. In the United States, that’s more or less $100 million. And this money will go the company’s Osnabrück plant where the convertible crossover will be produced. We have not actually heard of any details regarding the said model, but as you could see, the rendering depicts a two-door version of this folding hardtop.Read the entire article VW plans to produce cabriolet version of the T-Roc compact SUV
During the recent 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, one of the few cars that stood out would be this 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS that made its debut. Because it turned heads, it has inevitably become a favourite among rendering artists.
Some of them may just be for the hell of it, like the Coupe and the Cabriolet. The newest one looks actually quite promising. Imagined by artist Aksyonov Nikita, is a four-door coupe in the range topping AMG guise.
Up front, some of the noticeable changes would be the new bumper and the modified grille that includes the AMG badging. The rear end, on the other hand, gets a new bumper, carbon fiber diffuser and a boot lid spoiler, as well as quad tailpipes.Read the entire article 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS rendered as a Coupe, Cabriolet and in AMG guise

Mercedes-Benz just made an announcement that the 2018 E Class Cabriolet has finally landed in the United States. If you had not known, the E Class will be positioned in between the C and the S-Class convertibles. In fact, the E Class is being marketed as a luxury drop top that will have both a pure, elegant design, with long distance comfort just enough for four occupants.
As its name suggests, it will have a number of similarities with an E Class Coupe, except it will feature a fabric soft top in several colour options like black, red, dark blue, and dark brown. No matter which colour the customer selects, all of them will have the same feature, which promises to reduce both wind and road noise. It is fully automatic with sophisticated insulation that cuts down wind and noise when driving on the highway. In only 20 seconds, the top can fully be opened and closed, while traveling at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour (48 kilometers per hour). The roof then folds into a compartment in the trunk after opening.
Aside from the convertible fabric roof, the E Class Cabriolet comes with remarkable options including a heat reflecting leather upholstery, an Aircap wind deflector, as well as an Airscarf neck level heating system.Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet now available at US dealerships, priced from $66,300
In our generation, super estates that had been tuned to become more powerful are becoming more common. One of the latest to be modified is the Mercedes-AMG C63 that has been made to go much quicker than the previous-generation supercars.
Thanks to aftermarket tuner Vath as they have turned this wagon into a ferocious beast. And believe it or not, in only 3.3 seconds, it can sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) before hitting its maximum speed of 340 kilometers per hour (211 miles per hour).
After it has been tuned, the Mercedes-AMG C63 is now faster than a stock Ferrari 458 Italia by 0.1 second, which may not seem like much but any improvement is a big deal in this industry. This was attained after Vath tweaked its 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, that now gives out 700PS (690 horsepower) and 900 Nm (664 pound-feet) of torque. But if you want this to be done to your existing wagon, you will have to spend 12,800 euros ($14,870). With this, the tuner can enhance the car’s electronica and turbochargers, while adding a new oil cooler for the engine and transmission.Read the entire article Vath boosts output of 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate to 700 hp
Very recently, Polestar unveiled its very first production model in the form of the Polestar 1 high-performance hybrid coupe. Yet, there are already people who are wondering how a Polestar 1 would look like once it transforms into a convertible. Imagining such could be hard, so a rendering by graphic artist X-Tomi could provide some help.
X-Tomi had actually rendered the Polestar 1 coupe as the Polestar 1 shooting brake or estate wagon. This version of the Polestar comes with a full-length roof and a rear end similar to a hatchback. In a way, the Polestar 1 shooting brake would allow Polestar to offer a unique mix of performance, range and practicality. It looks gorgeous too.
Now, X-Tomi didn’t stop at the shooting brake rendering. He chopped off the roof, the B- and C-pillars, and then added some features that we would usually find in a convertible. With a couple of visual changes, X-Tomi managed to render the Polestar 1 convertible with an exterior that is wrapped in a midnight blue finish and an interior in black.Read the entire article Polestar 1 high-performance hybrid coupe is rendered as a convertible by X-Tomi

A few months ago, Mercedes-Benz promised that they will be treating everyone to a “big surprise” during the Monterey Car Week. And true enough, many of us were stunned as they unveiled the all electric Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet convertible version of the hardtop model that made its debut at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance last year.
Just like an art piece, this model is no doubt a head turner just like its predecessor. The Vision 6 Cabriolet stretches out to nineteen feet in length, and it sits on 24-inch wheels. Its hood appears extra long, while the tail tapers uniquely to a certain point. The front fascia gets a huge grille finished in chrome, which contrasts with the slim headlights. Mercedes actually refers to the rear end as a “boat tail”, complementing the Nautical Blue Metallic name for the exterior finish.
The Vision 6 Cabriolet’s interior completely stands out from the exterior. The two-seater cabin is finished in a clean white interior with silver accents - from the seats, the dashboard, to the steering wheel. The center console gets a wing-like “flowing” design that is given an ambient blue lighting around the elements, as well as the door panels. The illuminated dots around the seats all have tiny backlit Mercedes logos.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz surprises us with Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet
After seeing the A5 Cabrio in action for over a decade, ABT Sportsline for sure knows the best aftermarket options for your new Audi. ABT now offers the 2nd generation Audi A5 Cabriolet a new tuning kit. Using ABT’s new power boost, Audi A5’s 248hp (252PS) and 273lb-ft (370Nm) of torque 2.0 liter petrol engine can raise its output by up to 325hp (330PS) and 325lb-ft (440Nm). That is nearly the same output as the new 3.0-liter V6 engine on the Audi S5 Cabriolet which delivers an impressive 354hp (359PS) and 369lb-ft (500Nm) of torque.

Remember the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet that made its debut back in November 2016 at Los Angeles Auto Show? Yup, that’s the upscale version of the already luxurious S65. A few years ago, Daimler revived the Maybach nameplate to do a collaboration with Mercedes’ S-Class Sedan. The result was an extra-long super high-end sedan, looking all muscular, but at the same time, sensual.
Ever since then, Mercedes and Maybach have launched a couple of special edition vehicles, including the limited edition G650 Landaulet, where only 99 units were built. Alongside that was the S650 Cabriolet that is limited to 300 units.
It seems like the 300 units they were planning to build have already been built. Images online show dozens of the Mercedes Maybach S650 Cabriolet parked outside the Brabus headquarters in Bottrop. These images were posted on a German website Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog. And sources say that these beauties, painted in ivory, were made by the three-pointed star logo, and the 621 horsepower cabriolets are being upgraded by Brabus to their necessary specifications.Read the entire article Spotted: Numerous Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet lined up outside Brabus factory
The 2017 Shanghai Auto Show was dominated mainly by crossovers but that doesn't stop Mercedes-Benz from stepping out with a cool new update for the S-Class. During the event, the German automaker has also showed off the much anticipated Concept A Sedan, its first ever small four-door A-Class model with a coupe-like rear end.
If there’s more, Gorden Wagener, Mercedes’ head of design hinted about its latest design language during last week’s exhibit. In a statement, Wagener said that the design era of creases has finally reached its end. With that being the case, we’ll be seeing lesser lines and more rounded surfaces on their upcoming models. Sounds very promising isn't it?
Mercedes-Benz as we know, is looking to expand its current compact car lineup following the successful launch of the GLA, the CLA Shooting Brake, the CLA, the B-Class and the A-Class models. If ever, the new Concept A will be Mercedes Benz’s answer to Audi’s A3 Sedan and the BMW 1 Series. Taking its cues from the latest AMG GTs, the Concept A is also seen to represent Mercedes’ upcoming smaller car range. Still, how about a convertible version of the A-Class? This was rendered by Aksyonov Nikita and honestly, it looks amazing.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz Concept A-Class rendered as a cabriolet
Green lovers of all ages, rejoice! Edo competition modified a Porsche 911 Turbo S and made it look astounding! Third party tuner companies thrive on clients wanting to further modify their automobile. So whether it’s the car's paint, hood, exhaust, wheels, these tuners got it all covered, with a fee of course. These customers flock to the big players like Kahn Design, Startech, Onyx Concept and Arden to further aesthetically modify their rides to their hearts content, even if it means dishing out some cold, hard cash.
Things got more interesting when Edo Competition, Stuttgard's finest, took on the Porsche 911 Turbo S and made it into a Green Mean Machine - turning everyone green with envy everywhere it went. There were not a lot of tuning companies who knew the Porsche releases inside and out quite like Edo Competition. The namesake founder of this company, Edo Karabegovic, worked at a Ferrari shop for three good years and afterwards toiled on race cars for around 8 years. To him, the experiences working around race cars piqued his interest more and more, and one day decided to start up his own tuning company.
Customizing the Porsche 911 Turbo S is quite a feat, and making it stand out is just legendary. Edo Competition gave the sports car an all exclusive look-- splashed it with green and gave it the moniker "PTS Oliv- Green 274". The modifying company exclaimed that this one-of-a-kind color is the "first in the world". The super car is also fitted with Black alloy wheels and bright yellow calipers to further enhance the car's body color, and it sure is working to their liking.Read the entire article Olive Green Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrio by Edo Competition simply can't be ignored
TechArt’s latest project, the Porsche 911 Turbo itself, is a pretty awesome car to own. And it’s not only because of its powerful engine, and beautiful exterior design. However, some people just can’t get enough of what is already in the market. What do I mean by that? The German automobile tuner came up with an even more extravagant design, sans roof, calling this version the GTstreet R Cabriolet.
Some of the highlights of this car in terms of performance are its powerful engine with the capacity to deliver 720 horsepower (or 530 kilowatts) and 678 pound feet torque, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in a mind-blowing 3.5 seconds, while proceeding to its maximum speed of 340 kilometers per hour (211 mph) -- that is even faster than a 911 Turbo.
The wonders of this car don’t end there. It has an adjustable rear wing just like the one on a GT2 RS that can tilt up to 15 degrees for an added downforce, allowing the car to travel faster. In fact, this model has the ability to produce 707 pounds (321 kilograms) of downforce at 186 miles per hour (300 mph) - this was proven when it was tested in a wind tunnel. These are made possible by its new aerokit that features an active spoiler lip, carbon front fenders, and carbon side skirts.Read the entire article TechArt builds 720 hp Porsche 911 (991) Turbo as a cabriolet
Brabus will be hitting this week’s most happening auto show with a powerful 641bhp C63 Cabrio. The after-market tuning company has earned its reputation in the industry for having tuned Mercedes-Benz cars for four decades. Its latest project, the new Brabus 650 Cabrio, is based on the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Cabriolet.
The drop-top 650 Cabrio receives a powerful boost of up to 138 hp –resulting in its highly impressive 650 horsepower and 604 pound feet of torque. Brabus modified its standard 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine so it can accelerate from 0- 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 200 miles per hour. The conversion consists of Brabus PowerXtra B40S and 2 turbochargers with larger compressor just to name a few.
Normally, a standard Mercedes-AMG C63 S Cabriolet comes with 502 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The hefty amount of powerful boost wouldn’t be possible if not for the recalibrated electronics and new turbochargers fitted under its hood. To do this, Brabus replaced the factory specified AMG turbocharger with its own turbo charger units. The tuning house has also upgraded the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Cabriolet’s ECU and got rid of the 155 mph limiter to allow its 650 hp run up to 200 miles per hour at top speed.Read the entire article 2017 Geneva Motor Show: Brabus does the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Cabrio
