For Volkswagen fans, we are sure that you know that the Arteon has been on sale overseas for quite some time now. And now, the automaker has good news for United States fans as the midsize sedan makes its debut at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. And speaking of the model, it is set to go on sale in the US during the third quarter of the year. The Arteon now has more cabin space, and is a better and more modern replacement for the VW CC.
The Arteon, a midsized sedan with a four-door coupe like roofline, is based on the same MQB modular platform, as models like the Golf, Tiguan, and the new Jetta. Similar to the CC that came before it, the Arteon is sleeker, and has better styling elements. In fact, it acts as a good alternative to the Passat sedan.
Though similar to the CC, the Arteon has a wheelbase that is five inches longer than the CC, making it longer and wider - meaning that it gives more space to the passengers. In contrary to that, it gets shorter overhangs that make it look extra sporty.Read the entire article 2019 VW Arteon debuts in Chicago, set to start selling in 3Q
Volkswagen has finally revealed the long-awaited Arteon in Europe, after it made its debut earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. As known by many, the Arteon will serve as a replacement to the sleek CC model. Luckily for the European market, they can already get behind the wheel of this model. We have yet to see this sedan in North America, but the good news is that we do not have to wait much longer.
If our sources are right, the new VW Arteon will make an appearance in the US soil at the upcoming 2018 Chicago Auto Show in February 2018. It will then go on sale a few months after that. For those who are considering getting this car, expect the 2019 Arteon to have an asking price of $34,500 in the United States, similar to the price range of the outgoing CC. For European buyers, the Arteon will be priced at £34,305.
Similar to models like the Golf, Atlas and the upcoming Jetta, among other upcoming models, the US-spec Arteon will be riding on the same VW Group’s MQB platform. So under its hood will be a 2.0 liter turbocharged inline-four engine that can also be found in the European model.Read the entire article Expect to see the VW Arteon at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show
Drag races usually pit one vehicle against another to see which of them would cross the finish line first. This has become a popular type of motor racing and some even do it to determine which of the two cars is quicker. Somehow, a certain drag race had a new Volkswagen Arteon go up against an older BMW 5-Series (F10), and the action is all recorded on video.
The video – created by Odessa Drag – saw action between a gold-colored automatic VW Arteon R-Line powered by a 2.0-liter engine and a black-finished BMW 5 Series (F10) powered by a 3.0-liter petrol mill. As the race starts, the golden VW Arteon managed to pull away quickly from its opponent. The video is quite noisy – as if there’s a horde of mosquitoes in the area – as it was captured through a flying drone. Based from the video, the drag race appears like it might have occurred in the city of Odessa in Ukraine, Eastern Europe.
At the end, the BMW 5 Series never recovered and the VW Arteon proved to be the better vehicle between the two. However, the information provided by the uploader is so scant that it doesn’t provide a clear picture of the drama of the drag race. If you consider how loaded the model version is, the BMW 5 Series isn’t expected to easily lose against the VW Arteon. In fact, in some power matchups, the BMW 5 Series might have won.Read the entire article VW Arteon goes up against BMW 5 Series F10 in intense drag race [w/video]
Not a few agree that the Volkswagen Polo news a styling overhaul. While this supermini still looks good as it is now, the latest facelift was around three years. With rumors and speculations that Volkswagen is primed to replace the current Polo with a new generation in 2018, several visual artists took their sweet time trying to render the looks of the next generation of VW’s smallest car.’
One of these visual artists is Kleber Silva of Sao Paulo Brazil. As an automotive designer, Silva had rendered a number of cars and concepts like a pickup version of the Mini Cooper S Countryman and the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan. His visual artworks were published at Behance, a Web site that allows designers to showcase their works and for companies to discover them.
Silva’s rendering of the new VW Polo represents an evolution, if not a revolution, of the design of supermini. Its overall looks are very far removed from the current iteration of the Polo. However, there is one current or new VW model that the rendered VW Polo is taking inspiration from in terms of design – the new VW Arteon.Read the entire article Rumored new VW Polo rendered with looks derived from Arteon
Even as Volkswagen has just started taking orders for the VW Arteon in Germany. Arteon fanatics are already asking for a wagon variant of the Passat sedan. Some people actually prefer a long-roof version of it. It’s an awesome idea, if you ask us.
Luckily, the company admitted that they have thought of it already. In fact, as early as now, the people from Wolfsburg are referring to it as a “shooting brake”, but decided to just call it a wagon instead. Maybe so it doesn’t sound too old-school.
Don’t lose hope, guys! Elmar-Marius Licharz, Head of VW’s Full-Size Product Lines, did say that it is possible. However, from a business perspective, it will have to depend on the current Arteon’s success. If the sedan version becomes a hit, and receives a stamp of approval, then they will add the wagon to extend the lineup. So if you are reading this, then show some support if you want the wagon variant.Read the entire article This render of a VW Arteon wagon creates buzz for new variant

In the promotional ad, the Arteon features a chrome grille and LED headlights, with advanced dynamic cornering light, and an easy open trunk with a 563 liter boot capacity that extends to 1,557 liter if the rear seats are folded down. It also comes with an active information display, ranging from a 6.5-inch to 9.2 inch display. After its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen is now taking orders for the Arteon in Germany---where price starts at 49,325 euros. In this case, the new five-seater coupe comes out more expensive than Passat’s Highline trim level with the same 280hp 2.0-liter TSI engine. What makes Arteon more special though is that it exudes a certain character of the Sport Coupe Concept GTE that was showcased in Geneva in the last couple of years.
For one, Volkswagen wishes to place the new Arteon in the same league as that of BMW’s 4-Series Grand Coupe. Standing at 56.2 inches tall with width up to 73.7 inches and 191.4 inches in length, the Arteon basically replaces the former Volkswagen Passat CC. Because of this, the Arteon now features a sleeker body style, a superior legroom and longer wheelbase with up to 563-liter space at the trunk. When the seats are completely folded, the cargo capacity boasts up to 1,557-liters.
Among its other features are Volkswagen’s latest 9.2inches infotainment system with gesture control, head-up display and all-digital instrument cluster. We love spy pictures and videos. For fans and enthusiasts, or for journalists and rival carmakers, spy images and videos are coveted. Well, our inherent love for spy images and videos is basically fueled by the fact these graphics allow people to have a basic idea of the overall appearance of a new model. Moreover, these spy graphics helps confirm whether a carmaker is on its way to bring a new vehicle offering to the market.
Spy images and videos are usually taken from afar by enterprising photographers or so-called “carparazzi” while the vehicles or their prototypes are being tested on tracks or on the road. Thus, it was very surprising and highly unusual for Volkswagen to provide a spy video of some of its newest products. VW took some good shots of its new offerings like the Arteon coupe, Tiguan Allspace and Up! GTI being tested in the harsh environment of South Africa.
These vehicles were being tested for their endurance both on paved and rough roads on high temperatures of around 40 degrees Celsius. Frank Welsch, Board Member for Development at Volskwagen, remarked that to push the engines of these new models to the limits, they were driven with the air-conditioning units turned on. This way, VW could make sure that air-conditioning units work even then. He added that these vehicles – especially the Tiguan Allspace – were being tested on dirt and paved roads to make sure that occupants always feel comfortable under any road condition.Read the entire article VW releases own spy video of Tiguan Allspace, Arteon and Up! With around three months before Volkswagen unveils the replacement model for its VW CC – the VW Arteon – the German carmaker is already considering a new version of its model. Even before VW finaly unveils the fastback at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, there are already reports indicating that the carmaker is already considering a shooting brake version of the Arteon.
Slated to arrive as an all-new vehicle for the 2018 model year, the new VW Arteon is expected to best the current VW CC in terms of styling – it would feature a more aggressive design, as indicated by sketches released by the German company. Essentially a renamed 2018 Volkswagen CC, the 2018 VW Arteon is seen as an effort by the carmaker to save the four-door fastback from dropping sales.
VW introduced the CC to the market in 2007, and the fastback instantly gained recognitions for its stylish and sleek interior as well as its comfortable and ergonomic interior. But it seems that the design of the current generation VW CC is growing old on its customers. In fact, its sales in the past few years haven’t been encouraging.Read the entire article A shooting brake version of new 2018 VW Arteon is considered
With the Volkswagen CC on its way out, the automotive world is saying hello to its replacement – the Volkswagen Arteon. Due to arrive as an all-new vehicle for the 2018 model year, the new VW Arteon is expected to be a better version of the current VW CC. While the actual unveiling of the new VW Arteon is pegged to occur in March 2017 at the next Geneva Motor Show, the German carmaker is already providing an early glimpse into the new model.
The 2018 VW Arteon is basically a renamed 2018 VW CC. Volkswagen’s decision to drop the name could be an effort to save the four-door fastback from falling sales. The German carmaker launched the VW CC on the market in 2007, receiving praise for its sleek exterior and ergonomic interior. However, sales of the VW CC in the recent years haven’t been encouraging. For instance, the automaker only sold fewer than 6,300 units of the VW CC in the United States in 2015. Disappointing indeed!
Whether the new Arteon could save VW’s four-door fastback’s from fallen grace remains to be seen. But meanwhile, we could feast on the teaser of the new VW Arteon provided by the German carmaker less than four months into the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. But if we couldn’t wait for March 2017 to come, we could take a review of the Volkswagen Sport Coupé GTE Concept that was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The VW Sport Coupe Concept GTE is basically a preview of the VW CC; and with the CC gone (by name), it previews the new Arteon.Read the entire article Volkswagen junks CC to usher in new Arteon four-door fastback
