2009 Lexus IS-F by Wald International: official specs and details

Wald International, a Japanese tuning company and provider of a broad range of styling and performance packages for all Japanese-made cars on the market, is currently focusing on the latest high-performance sedans to come out from Lexus. Consequently, the restyling demonstrates some unique Wald touches together with a style exclusive to the IS-F.

The package for the IS-F provides a considerably more belligerent appearance for the model for owners who are not content with the factory's more reserved though beefy appearance.

However, the Black Bison pack still raises the level of aggressive look higher with carbon-fiber finishes.

Wald International Black Bison body kit for the BMW 7 Series (G11/G12) is polarizing

Japanese aftermarket tuner Wald International’s latest project in the Black Bison line of body kits focuses on the BMW 7 Series. In these images, we see the large German sedan with the new pieces of Wald on both the front and the rear end. Having said that, the model will surely turn a lot of heads with these unusual revisions.

Apart from the aforementioned front and rear bumpers that are part of the Black Bison kit, there are also side sills, as well as new wheels and an aftermarket exhaust that can be added to the BMW 7 Series.

Up front, the most noticeable feature would be the L-shaped intakes on both sides, with a vertical array of LEDs as opposed to the horizontal ones on the stock G12. Both corners also get small, square-shaped inlets at each side, as well as a rectangular opening with horizontal slats in the center. A slim black lip also underlines the vehicle’s front bumpers.

Next-generation Lexus IS-F might receive a twin-turbo V6 engine

A twin-turbo V6 engine is rumored to soon be available on the next-generation Lexus IS-F. However, this has yet to be confirmed. A Lexus representative told Autoblog that there are clear advantages in making the switch. It’s currently being powered by a 5.0-liter V8 with an output of 416-hp and 371 lb-ft of torque from a large displacement V8 engine.

Making the switch to a smaller V6 engine, probably a variant of the brand’s 3.5-liter unit, and installing turbochargers may easily offer the same horsepower figures, with the additional benefit of more torque. Furthermore, the smaller forced-induction engine doesn’t just decrease the overall vehicle weight, but should cut weight over the front axle, helping to boost weight balance.

Lastly, a turbocharged setup will enable the car to boost fuel economy significantly by up to 20%. When it comes to internal combustion engine technology, Lexus and its parent Toyota have been falling behind rather than focusing on advancing its hybrid powertrains.

Breaking News: 2010 Lexus IS-F Evolution shows its face

These spy pics of the Lexus IS-F Evolution are very exciting considering that it's near the end of its 150kg weight loss program. Reports have come out previously about the hood, roof, front and rear fenders/bumpers and trunk lid being made of carbon fiber to drop up to 150KG in weight.

These pics confirm the addition of a rear wing and highly supportive carbon backed Recaro seats. Also confirmed previously are a proper Torsen LSD and revised suspension to offer a firmer ride over standard.

These pics could even already be showing the production ready examples of the BBS alloy wheels to be included in the IS-F Evolution package.

Track performance is a widespread subject among Lexus IS F builders. And due to this, 0-60 Magazine raised the stake on their Lexus IS F venture with a supercharger to squeeze out more horsepower from the enormous V8 engine found under the hood.
Carbon fiber body parts reduced the weight of the Lexus IS F while further lowering the center of gravity. In addition, 0-60 Magazine installed a custom roll cage for more strength and protection. A powerful brake enhancement kit was also integrated by 0-60 Magazine to balance the performance equation.

It is a fact that the 0-60 crew knows how to drive, so it's not a shocker that the buff book's Lexus IS F mixes the right amount of power with the proper dose of stick.

Even though 0-60 Magazine has yet to provide the figures for the output for the Greddy-supercharged bent-eight engine, the educated estimate puts it somewhere close to 550 hp of max output.

Lexus has decided that its participation at SEMA should rotate around its most tuner-friendly versions, particularly its series of IS sedans.

So besides the Five Axis IS-F that has been making the appearance beginning late last year, Lexus has struck some prominent names in tuning, along with a few publications, to produce a handful of bespoke cars to fill its booth. But the IS350 and four adjusted IS-Fs be on their own.

They will be coupled by another Five Axis production built from the cues of the GS 460, together with an LX570 SUV produced by the crew at Icon 4x4 Design.
