Aftermarket HRE Performance P200 wheels give aggressive vibe to Porsche Panamera

One of the nicest things about buying a brand new car is that it's already reasonably packed with all the great features--- oftentimes even with the latest styles and technologies available. So let’s just say your car is neither plain nor boring but you want it to appear a little different.

Something that adds more punch and that shouts out “hey look at me” to let it rise above the special bunch of supercars you see out on the street. If there’s a feature that has somehow caught your fancy then maybe it’s time to drive to your preferred aftermarket tuner and let them do what they do best.

The owner of this Porsche wanted to spice up the latest Panamera model by replacing the factory wheels with some new ones. Wheels Boutique, the largest HRE wheels and Vorsteiner Aeroparts dealer, has equipped this 2nd generation Porsche Panamera with the HRE Performance P200. The Panamera has been equipped with custom wheels that now flash rims at the front measuring 22 x 10 inches each and another set of rims measuring 22 x 12 inches at the rear.

Bugatti Chiron with Forgiato Tecnica alloy wheels is hard to come by

With so many rims available in the market today, it’s quite the challenge to tell which one would look best on your car. How much more if you plan to match them to a Bugatti Chiron? Many owners of these 1500 hp monsters would usually prefer the manufacturer-supplied wheels over those that come from the aftermarket specialists. To some, the many choices out there can make the task overwhelming.

It’s good to know there exists a handful of Bugatti Chiron owners who are brave enough to take the less traveled road. Take for example, the owner of this Bugatti who decided to find a new set of Forgiato Tecnica rims instead of settling for the Chiron’s stock alloy wheels.

We have no way of knowing what the size of these wheels really are, but let’s just say they fit those tires that already came with the Chiron from scratch. The stock Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are made especially for the Chiron’s powerful road potentials so keeping it stable under any road condition is imperative to its performance. In case the owner preferred another set of high performance tires, then we have to assume these must be the better ones. The stock comes in the sizes of 11x20 for the front and 14x21 for the rear.

Porsche to offer Braided Carbon Wheels for the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series

Porsche introduces the technologically advanced wheels with braided carbon fiber. These will be initially available on the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. Being the first car manufacturer to offer such innovation, the wheels will come with a massive sticker price of 15,232 Euros (or $17,970 after the current exchange rates).

Braided carbon wheels are made from CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) which is an extremely lightweight material that’s optimized absolutely for the absorption of longitudinal and lateral forces. It is also said to be 20% lighter and 20% stronger than regular alloy wheels. Besides trailing the road more efficiently due to lesser unsprung weight, the lower rotating masses would also mean spontaneous braking and acceleration. These would all result to more pleasurable driving plus better driving dynamics.

Porsche uses its massive carbon fiber braiding machine that has a measurement of 9 meters in diameter to cut and assemble more than 200 individual parts of the wheel. After the assembly, the wheel is pre-impregnated with a certain type of resin and baked using high levels of pressure and temperature. This is followed by an extensive cooling process before the finished wheel that will be inserted with a central lock and painted with lacquer as protective coating.

Continental to showcase New Wheel Concept for EVs at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show

Automotive parts supplier Continental has redesigned its wheel and braking system to meet today’s demands in electro mobility. Unlike the traditional wheel and braking solutions, the New Wheel Concept specially made for medium and compact electric vehicles meet all the requirements electric driving puts on the brake.

Continental’s innovative concept is based primarily on two new sections between the wheel and the axle. The carrier, or the inner part of the aluminum brake disc, remains affixed to the wheel hub while the wheel brake is attached to the star carrier of the axle. The reduced weight also means changing brake pads and tires will come easier as these are the only parts requiring periodic replacements.

It is important for electric vehicles that the driver uses small amounts of energy on friction brake, according to Paul Linhoff, Continental’s chassis and safety business unit head. The vehicle’s momentum is converted into electricity during deceleration, thereby increasing the vehicle’s range. He added that while the driver uses the brake pedal, it doesn’t conclude that the wheel brakes are also in use.

While combining retro with contemporary styling cues can sometimes not work out so well, this Lamborghini Huracan with Vossen forged wheels prove it all wrong. To start off, the iconic supercar has been fitted with Vossen’s LC-103, making it very much like a modern version of the Countach with a phone dial–inspired wheel design. The LC-103 has a starting price of $1,300 each and is offered in several different sizes.

In this particular Lambo, Vossen uses a single piece monoblock forged alloy wheels in rose gold finish with five rounded holes and polished details. These are nothing like we’ve seen before except those on the classic Lamborghini Countachs of the eighties.

According to the design details on their website, the Vossen Forged LC-103 wheel and Lip concept series aims to emulate the transition of multi-piece wheel while incorporating the forged aluminum’s single piece monoblock construction at the same time. The finishing options are done at Vossen’s very own, state of the art finishing facilities that produce only the best quality finishes.

While most BMWs come with a long list of finishing touches for customers to choose from, this BMW M3 owner wants more than the standard and optional add-ons that are available. After all, an eye-popping BMW M3 in Satin Lime Green Chrome will grab more attention if it comes with a bronze colored wheel set. Sounds fair enough.

When customers take the road-less-travelled, it’s always the best time for after-market tuning specialists to take over. And so this is how it all started.

To put it more into details, this BMW M3’s very visible exterior which comes in Satin Lime Green Chrome paintwork was further enhanced with Velos Designwerks wheels. The secret is in the bronze beauty which is made of S15 monoblock forged concave measuring 20x10 (at the front) and 20x12 (at the rear).

For those of you who have been eyeing a set of carbon fiber wheels, but haven’t purchased one before because of its price, now might be your chance. That’s because carbon fiber wheels are now cheaper than they ever were. But it still cannot be said that everyone can afford a set.

Koenigsegg was the first company that introduced carbon fiber wheels in 2012. Koenigsegg marketed this product as the “world’s first hollow one piece, super light carbon fiber wheel”. However, this was especially made for the Agera R hypercar, and for you to get your hands on these wheels, you were required to get the car as well.

This all changed when Carbon Revolution came into the picture as it is the only firm that commercially produces one-piece carbon fiber rims. Customers can simply swing by their shop and pick up a set of carbon fiber wheels. While this means that you won’t have to part with the amount needed to acquire a hypercar, these carbon fiber wheel still weren’t cheap by any standards. Carbon Revolution has a network of 20 dealerships in the United States, wherein interested clients can easily buy a set of the ultra-light wheels.

WheelsAndMore has done it again. Aside from customizing multi-piece special lightweight wheels, WheelsAndMore could also make a car more dynamic in terms of road performance. This is shown on one of the company’s latest works, a performance-enhanced version of the already powerful Ferrari 488 Spider.

As it is typically, the Ferrari 488 Spider isn’t your ordinary roadster. Any car produced by Ferrari reigns supreme, especially in the area of performance. The Ferrari 488 Spider isn’t an exception.

Its beautifully and elegantly design exterior faithfully reveals how crazy is the Ferrari 488 Spider in terms of power. It is quite important to mention that the 488 Spider is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that could deliver 670 PS (661 hp) of max output at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm (561 lb.-ft.) of peak torque available at 6,750 rpm. With this amount of power at its disposal, the Ferrari 488 Spider could accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 3.0 seconds and to 200 km/h (0 to 124 mph) in around 8.7 seconds. As far as top speed is concerned, the Ferrari 488 Spider could go as fast 325 km/h (203 mph).

Doing more than just tuning shiny new cars, G-Power rolls out with a new line of Hurricane RR wheels for certain BMW M and Mercedes-AMG models. The new set of Hurricanes come in 23-inch, 22-inch and 21-inch wheel sizes. Unlike most conventional aluminum wheels, the Hurricane forged wheels are predominantly more lightweight because of the higher strength forged aluminum material.

According to the German-tuning specialist, the Hurricane’s lower mass, lightweight components will improve road traction to give the driver a better control of the vehicle. Since road traction performs an important role in driving, it also means there will be lesser weight transfer towards the outer wheel when taking corners.

Nevertheless, the G-Power Hurricane wheels are made with T6 6061 aluminum grade material. The T6 is a heat-treatment technology that spreads the “forces” within the aluminum to restore the characteristics of the alloy wheels. In fact, these strong yet lightweight alloys that come out of their CNC-Controlled milling machine are similar to those being used in aerospace industry.

The BMW M4 (F82) has been a favorite subject of modifications among many tuners as well as individual fans and enthusiasts. Wheels Boutique is joining this fray by implementing a couple of simple yet attention-grabbing tweaks on the BMW M4.

By itself, the BMW M4 is already good looking – solid yet dynamic. But Wheels Boutique customized the BMW M4 in a pretty straightforward manner. It wrapped the BMW M4 in a customized exterior paint finish called Silverstone Metallic II. This exterior paint finish may look like your typical shade of silver when viewed from afar or in pictures. However, when viewed closely on some particular angles, Silverstone Metallic II further accentuates not only the lines but also the curvy surfaces of the BMW M4 – thanks to its light blue hue. This is certainly true on the BMW M4’s character lines that flow down on both sides and its seemingly building front bonnet.

Of course – as its name indicates -- Wheels Boutique’s specialty is on vehicle rims. So, the main point of this customization is to show how grand Wheels Boutique’s wheel selection for the BMW M4 could be. For this particular BMW M4, Wheels Boutique decided to employ a set of HRE P101 wheels finished in matte black.

It may not look very sporty but this new BMW M4 (F82) wrapped in Sakhir Orange exterior color with golden rims sure is dynamic and elegantly gorgeous.

Sakhir Orange is one of several colors included in the standard palette for the M4. In fact, it is also available for other offerings of the BMW M family, like the M3, the M5 and the M6. Since its introduction, Sakhir Orange has been among the favorite finishes for the M4, whether stock or laden with aftermarket parts. This shade of orange has always given the BMW M4 an elegantly standout appearance whether on a standstill or on the move.

Such is the case of this new BMW M4. Perhaps after looking at other M4 units wrapped in Sakhir Orange and dressed in various aftermarket parts, the owner of this M4 got some ideas running through his or her head on how to proceed with the transformation of his/her own sports coupe. All its owner must do is to get the right aftermarket parts, install them and provide the necessary modifications.

A custom-made Jeep Wrangler wearing Center Line’s RT1X wheels was seen recently in the Lucas Oil offroad Expo in Pomono, California. In this event, Starwood Motors enticed their audience with Centre Line wheels and seems to have captivated the majority. It’s one of those moments when all eyes are stuck on the wheels.

Starwood Motors has teamed up with Center Line to build a new beast. We know how wheels can be more useful for off-road vehicles so this comes as no surprise. But let’s face the fact that some vehicle brands and tuning specialists have already shied away from offering their own take on wheels. Most have relied on partnership and have been pushing after market fitments instead. This probably led to Starwood and Center Line’s latest collaboration.

Since the Jeep Wrangler is a conventional off-road naked SUV, the team has worked doubly hard to create a new impression of power, strength and durabilty. While it looks similar to other Jeeps, Starwood Motors’ white and black Jeep Wrangler isn’t boring.

When it comes to customization (or personalization), one of the most common parts of the cars usually replaced to make more exclusive or suitable to the owner’s taste is its wheels. There is nothing wrong with stock wheels, it is just that custom and optional rims are usually lighter and more elegant.

At the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Nevada, there is a gathering of companies with expertise in manufacturing specialized non-stock wheels. One of these companies is California-based MKW Alloys, which is showcasing various highly specialized wheels from its RSR luxury and Hostile Wheels off-road wheel brands.

As part of its engagement in the 2016 SEMA Show, MKW Alloys has fitted a heavily customized 2016 Ford Mustang with new one-piece forged magnesium wheels -- in 20x10 design – further improving its overall performance of the car while providing less stress to the engine. MKW Alloy has also prepped five project cars for the 2016 SEMA. These project cars include modern luxury vehicles, lightweight muscle cars and rugged off-road as well as luxury trucks.

The BMW X6 has a polarizing design. In fact, some people say that the new X6 has an ugly design while some praise the vehicle for its new looks. Whatever the debate is all about, it boils to one thing: people have different preferences. Well, if a customer really likes the BMW X6 except for its looks, he or she could always approach any of the thriving tuning companies.

For a more specific tuning, there is a tuning company specializing in BMW vehicles – German tuning firm Hamann. In fact, the company managed to offer a battalion of options and kits for the old E71 X6. For the new version of the X6 – the F16 – Hamann is surely not letting this tuning opportunity pass by.

For starters, Hamann fitted its own wheels into the BMW X6. They were not just factory-based 19-inch wheels, but 23-inch rims in various designs. They look very good on the BMW X6, especially the multi-spoke Edition Race rims in dark finish.
