The Camaro Z/28 was Chevy’s counterpart for the Dodge Hellcat and the Ford Shelby, with as much as 505 horsepower (376 kilowatts) from its V8 engine. The muscle car also comes standard with carbon ceramic brakes, sticky Pirelli tires, and a stripped interior to lose its weight and make it track-ready. It first made its debut in 2014 and today, one could get a brand new Camaro for $75,000.
When it first came out of the market, it was already difficult to get your hands on one of the Camaro Z/28s. But today, a couple of first hand owners are selling the model for much less than its original asking price. In fact, prices have gone down by half according to Road & Track. Some of them were being listed for as low as $35,000 to $40,000.
And the odd thing is that these examples are not that worn out yet to be priced that low. One of them, with 13,000 miles (20,921 kilometers) on its odometer since 2014, is being sold for $35,000. Another example, on the other hand, has only been driven for as short as 952 miles (1,532 kilometers) and now has a price tag of $36,000. You can find these cars on an auto auctions website, but if you search for used cars, you will see examples with similar pricing. So this will make you wonder why these low-mileage cars are being sold for such price.Read the entire article Used 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is listed for $35,000 less than original price

The limited-production Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 could become a permanent fixture in the brand’s line if its sales continue to grow at the current rate, according to Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser. Chevrolet plans to produce just 3,000 units of the Camaro Z/28 for 2014-15, but demand for the vehicle has been strong. Chevrolet sold all the 450 Z/28 units it built in the 2014 production year, and is expected to deliver between 2,500 and 3,000 units in 2015.
General Motors may decide to keep the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 on its list of product offerings to stave off challenges from a redesigned Ford Mustang and possible Shelby performance version. Chevrolet officials recently rented a racetrack in South Haven and let reporters take the wheel of some Z/28s, with a purpose of giving them a first-hand experience of the car’s track-ready handling and acceleration.
The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is powered by a 7.0-liter V-8 engine that provides 505 hp, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of about 170 mph. Chevrolet has unveiled the new-look MY2014 Camaro line at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The MY2014 Camaro models now bear a revised exterior design integrating high-performance aerodynamics for more efficient cooling and stability at high speeds. One of the models unveiled was the returning Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, which boasts of a full aerodynamics package that creates downforce at speed.
Chevrolet released the first Camaro Z/28 in 1967 as a competing car in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am 2 class. The first Z/28 is powered by a smaller and lighter 302-cubic-inch V-8 for enhanced weight balance. The car also features quick-ratio steering and a heavy-duty suspension for track use.
Because the 1967 Camaro Z/28 was made to focus on road racing, it was not available with an automatic transmission or air conditioning. On the other hand, the new Camaro Z/28 is not intended to compete in a specific race series. Despite that, the new Camaro Z/28 is also focused on track capability. In fact, in initial testing, the Camaro Z/28 clocked three seconds better per lap than the Camaro ZL1.Read the entire article New York Auto Show: 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 comes back
It is rumored that a patent was filed recently by Chevrolet that covers the Z28 name used on former Camaro models. This move can be justified by several reasons such as guarding the name and expectations of potential uses in the future as well as having a specific product in the works. The muscle car segment will probably be exciting in the next several years.
The badge is also something that GM has immediate plans for. One theory is that it is the replacement for the current Camaro SS model as soon as the Holden Commodore-based Chevrolet SS is released. It’s also possible that the Z28 has a better performance than the ZL1. Ford’s Shelby GT500 is really very powerful.
The Z28 name may lead to the creation of another bracket in the lower end Camaro range, particularly since Ford intends to offer a turbocharged four cylinder engine in its next generation Mustang. It has a range of four- six- and eight-cylinder range, which means that it could do better than the Camaro when it comes to board marketability. It should be noted that Ford is boldly moving towards increasing the global marketability of its pony car.Read the entire article GM trademarks the ‘Z28’ moniker
