Invitations have been sent out by Silverstone Auctions for those who would want to submit entries for the International Trophy Sale on May 17. A 1968 Ford Mustang Bullitt is the first vehicle to be confirmed for the auction. The auction at Silverstone race circuit will kick off the Historic Sports Car Club’s meeting that’s scheduled to take place during that weekend.
The vehicles that will be put up for sale include classic road-going models as well as competition cars and collectable motorbikes. According to Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, he’s glad that a Mustang was confirmed to be the first entry since they’ve been highly popular in its previous auctions. He shared that a similar model had recently sold for over £49,000.
The venue of the auction is at the ultra-modern ‘Wing’ building. An automobilia and lifestyle goods sale starts at 11am while the car sale starts at 2pm. This auction will be the first for Silverstone Auctions this year at the legendary race circuit after having auctioned over £1.4 million worth of vehicles last February at Race Retro in Stoneleigh.
