This show’s star is the 2006 Fisker Tramonto that is the only right hand drive model from the 15 models produced. The Tramonto is a true supercar.
Based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG, the Tramonto is built by the firm based in California that had been founded by Henrik Fisker, formerly the head designer of Aston Martin. The car was given a Titanium Quartz Metallic paint and it has a two-tone Sand interior in the best Italian leather. It also has an aluminum finish with hints of carbon fiber all over.
Bidding had become highly competitive in the auction hall and online. It eventually sold for £50,000, which is computed as 172% of CAP.
Another model that sold for £28,850 in the auction is the 0858 Hummer 2 6.2 Lux at 17,000 miles. It is finished in a striking combination of orange and black with lots of chrome trim. Its price is equivalent to 112% of CAP.
The Fisker Coachbuild 2006 Tramonto is essentially a Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG wrapped in hallmark Fisker styling. An elegantly sculptured exotic, two-seat seater, the 2006 Tramonto doesn’t look like a SL55 AMG at a glance. However, the Tramonto is still a SL55 AMG under the skin, featuring technologies, and elements that underpin the Mercedes creation. For instance, the Tramonto has retained the power-retractable hardtop, Active Body Control (ABC), and safety systems – like crumple zones and airbags – of the SL55 AMG.
The new Fisker Coachbuild 2006 Tramonto boasts of a ground-hugging, wide and low stance on the road. In the signature Fisker style, the Tramonto has smoothly flowing lines. These elements lend the new Tramonto an overall appearance that conveys speed, power and movement.
Compared to the Mercedes SL55 AMG, the Tramonto boasts of different proportions. For instance, the Tramonto features a longer-looking hood line with a pronounced power dome, a shorter back end and no visual bumpers. Viewed from any angle, the Tramonto exudes poise and balance. Its uncompromisingly beautiful and exotic appearance makes it unmistakably a Fisker.
As designed, the exterior of the new Fisker Coachbuild 2006 Tramonto is laden with muscular lines, with tight and uniform gaps between body panels. Befitting an exotic sports car, the body panels are made from aluminum and carbon fiber, although steel is employed judiciously to improve structural rigidity.
All models from Fisker Coachbuild are bound to feature an all-new exterior design as well as re-designed interior – all conveying Fisker’s distinctive Design DNA. Each car has a face that is unmistakably a Fisker, as marked by a new grille design inspired by aircraft designs like the F/A-22 Raptor. As for the Fisker Coachbuild 2006 Tramonto, it boast of a front silhouette similar to the F/A-22 Raptor, featuring large center opening linked into the fuselage as well as two wings expanding from the mouth.
In details, the new Fisker Coachbuild 2006 Tramonto features an anodized aluminum wire mesh grille with two bars from the Fisker Coachbuild logo, which is available with black powder coating. The aluminum mesh on the lower front spoiler is coated black powder. The lower front spoiler, meanwhile, is home to fog lights inset with carbon fiber bezels. The Tramonto also features anodized aluminum wire mesh side vents with chrome finish surrounds.
In addition, the new Tramonto features a power dome design with a race-inspired, 1,500-degree heat shield on its carbon fiber hood surface. Its existing door handles are now integrated into the body design in order to retain the retractable hard top mechanism. Aside from a carbon fiber rear diffuser, the new Tramonto also has purposely designed integrated tail lamps and polished chrome exhausts. Three-dimensional milled aluminum and hand painted badges are also found on the new Tramonto, which rides on lightweight, purpose designed five-spoke, three-piece 20-inch wheels
