Article by Christian A., on August 29, 2010

This project is a product of Ford's collaboration with Vaughn Gittin Jr., the driver of the Monster Energy/Falken Tire Mustang GT in the Formula Drift series.

The RTR is equipped with a chin spoiler, side sill extensions, a rear diffuser and an aluminum spoiler. It also comes with unique stripes and interior trim (exclusive floor mats, a special shifter and numerous RTR emblems) and 19-inch wheels with Falken FK-452 tires.

Ford has yet to announce its performance specifications but so far, we already know that it has a revised ECU, a high-flow air filter, and Ford Racing mufflers.

Mickey Matus, Ford's Performance Group marketing manager, said that Gittin aimed to present an exciting new package to the Mustang world that would be liked by the younger audience and traditional muscle car fans.

Matus also said that Gittin's partnership with Ford Racing to develop the Mustang RTR illustrates how universal Mustang's appeal is."

The package is currently available for the Mustang GT, a Mustang V6 package that will be launched later this year. This package is made by Michigan-based Classic Design Concepts. Price of the pack: $7,895!
