2011 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition unveiled at Montreal Auto Show

Mercedes-Benz unveiled today at the 2011 Montreal International Auto Show the Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition, a special edition of the well-known sports sedan. As expected, the will be produced in a limited edition of just 30 units and was designed in the AMG Performance Centre in Affalterbach, Germany.

The car features unique styling cues and an impressive list of special equipment, never offered before on a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. As you can see from the photos, the first visual impact with the car shows the distinctive designo MAGNO Allanite Grey paintwork, which is completed by the high-performance AMG brakes with red calipers, 19" AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in black, carbon-fibre mirror housings and a rear lip spoiler.

Under the hood of Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition, we find the same hand-built, 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 481 hp of max output and 443 lb.-ft. of peak torque, enough to push the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.

Inside, the Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition features the Affalterbach logo prominently displayed on the gearshift lever and embossed on the headrests but also red contrast stitching which adorn the black AMG Nappa leather sport seats. Moreover, design of the interior is completed by AMG carbon-fibre trim, floor mats with red leather piping and a special Affalterbach Edition badge which identifies every car with its unique "1 of 30" designation.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition also comes with the same elements from the C63 AMG Premium Package, such as: rear view camera, PARKTRONIC, COMAND APS with HDD Navigation and DVD Changer, multi-media interface, rear window sunshade, harman/kardon LOGIC7 surround sound system and KEYLESS-GO.

Furthermore, the Mercedes C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition is equipped with the AMG Performance Package, which adds 30 additional horsepower, removes the speed limiter and adds a limited-slip differential. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C63 Affalterbach Edition will be priced from $81,500.

If you are willing to wait, you might as well as anticipate the arrival C-Class AMG Black Series Coupe this year. It will be powered by a new version of the recently introduced twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that was introduced on the S63 AMG, able to deliver up to 400 kW (544 hp) of output and up to 800 Nm of torque. With the AMG Performance Package installed, the dynamics of the engine surges to 420 kW (571 hp) of max output and 900 Nm of peak torque.

In the new S 63 AMG, the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine allows the high-performance S Class model to dash from nil to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. With the AMG Performance package, the sprint time shortens to just 4.4 seconds, while the top speed hikes to still electronically limited 300 km/h.
