The 2011 Mercedes-Benz CL Facelift was finally revealed today, showing a new front end, revised rear end and a bunch of new goodies. Ok, so first of all we see the presence of the new daytime running LEDs, new headlights inspired by the old-generation S-Class as well as a new front grille.
At the rear end we see modest improvements such as revised taillights, new trunk lid and rectangular exhaust pipes.
The big improvements are seen under the hood: the CL500 (CL550 in U.S.) carries a turbocharged 4.6-liter V8 engine (down from 5.5 liter) capable to deliver 429 hp and 516 pound-feet of torque (a big improvement if we compare it with the 382 hp and 391 lb-ft delivered by the old 5.5-liter V8).
Regarding the CL600, this model carries a 5.5-liter V12 engine delivering 510 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. The CL63 AMG receives a new twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine capable to deliver 536 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque
The more potent CL65 AMG which is powered by the AMG-tuned V12 engine delivers 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. Also, the new CL receives new safety systems such as the Active Lane Keeping Assist, blind-spot warning system and high beam assist.
Inside we find the new Mercedes-Benz COMAND user interface that can accept Bluetooth, USB and SD card inputs.
A 7.2 GB hard drive is available for storing music, while a separate 40 GB hard drive is used by the navigation system. Other upgrades for the interior include a new new steering wheel, standard adjustable ambient lighting and four different choices of wood.
