Mercedes-Benz unveiled today the G-Class BA3 Final Edition, the last edition of the short wheelbase Station Wagon in the successful G-Class. The new edition will be available in two variants: the G 350 BlueTEC powered by a 6-cylinder diesel engine with the very latest BlueTEC emissions control delivering 211 hp (155 kW) and 540 Nm of torque and the G500 powered by the mighty 5.5-litre V8 petrol engine capable to deliver 285 kW (388 hp) and 530 newton metres of torque.
The engines are mated to the 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and some of the standard specification incudes the electronically controlled traction system 4ETS, the Electronic Stability Program ESP and three differential locks with 100-percent locking effect.
Regarding the design, the BA3 Final Edition offers AMG flared wheel arches in the vehicle colour, in combination with 18-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, running boards, a spare wheel cover with a 3D Mercedes-Benz star in stainless steel, an AMG radiator grille in a 3-louvre design with chrome highlights.
Some of the standard features include an electric sliding/tilting sunroof, metallic paintwork, rear mudflaps, carbon-fibre look inserts in the protective strips, an ultrasonic reversing aid and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Inside, the car features chrome highlights on the frame and selector lever cover, seat adjustment controls and the loudspeakers in the front doors.
As standard the BA3 Final Edition comes with convenience telephony system in the armrest, with a universal interface for various mobile phone cradles, extended telephone functions, a charging function and an external aerial for optimum reception. Regarding the price, the G 350BlueTEC the "BA3 Final Edition" is priced at €90,511.40, and the G 500 at €100,685.90 (both prices include 19% VAT).
The interior offers greater comfort and convenience for the driver and the passengers. Innovative technology complemented by exceptional workmanship ensures superior comfort and elegance. The interior’s atmosphere is enhanced by the functional ambient lighting. Chrome trimmings embellish the frame and selector lever cover, front door speakers and seat adjustment controls. The chrome sill panel of the boot compartment with ‘Mercedes-Benz’ inscription also adds visual appeal and prestige.
The black leather front seats are multicontour with a climatisation feature, providing superb comfort. Long trips or warm summer journeys remain very comfortable. Burr walnut wood is used in the interior trimmings as well as the steering wheel and selector lever, where it is combined with leather.
The armrest also includes an intuitively placed phone centre with a universal connector for different mobile phone holders, charging capability, augmented telephony and an external antenna for enhanced signal reception. Rubber mats are practically used for the foot wells and the load compartment. It also comes with a cover as well as extra storage boxes.
