The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series wowed everyone when it completed a lap at the Nurburgring with a time of 7 minutes and 46 seconds. The ‘Baby Benz’ was displayed recently at the L.A. Auto Show. The C63 AMG Black Series’ time puts it far ahead of its rivals like the twin-turbo, V-12-powered SL65 AMG Black Series with a time of 7 minutes and 51 seconds, the E92 BMW M3 GTS that got 7 minutes and 48 seconds, and the CLK63 Black Series with 8 minutes and 5 seconds.

These last two vehicles were equipped with Pirelli P Zero Corsas. Meanwhile, the C63 AMG Black Series is covered in Dunlop Sport Maxx Race tires. In the range, the Black Series is positioned above the standard C63 AMG. Its footprint is 2 inches wider to adjust to the performance improvements.

It is fitted with the same AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine that could develop 510 hp of max output and 457 lb.-ft. of peak torque. It is able to attain this figure by making use of forged pistons, a revised engine control unit and lighter crankshaft and connected rods. This V8 powerplant allows the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series to sprint from nil to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through the innovative AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports gearbox that boasts of four transmission modes. With such power on hand, the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe Black Series Coupe was regarded as the most powerful C-Class so far.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series goes even faster when fitted with the large carbon fiber rear wing and big air dam. The C63 AMG Black Series would certainly be one of the fastest street-legal cars around but it still falls behind the Lexus LFA with a Nurburgring time of 7 minutes and 14 seconds, and the Dodge Viper ACR that achieved a time of 7 minutes and 12 seconds.

Unveiled in 2011, the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Black Series boasts of a front end with an aluminum bonnet with two openings and front apron with massive air intakes. It also features restyled AMG side skirts with a black strip and wider rear wings. It also comes with a new rear apron with integrated air diffuser. The rear styling of the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe Black Series Coupe is completed by chromed twin tailpipes.

With the latest feat, it has become more difficult to deny the connection of the new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé Black Series to motorsports. From it appearance and performance, the C63 AMG Coupé Black Series is definitely a high-performance premium car that can exceed the expectations of even the most discerning customers.
