After the 2012 Ram Express Crew Cab and Quad Cab, Ram brand also introduced the new Ram 1500 Tradesman Heavy Duty pickup, a vehicle designed to deliver unparalleled capability in the half-ton segment. According to the manufacturer, the Ram 1500 Tradesman Heavy Duty has an 11,500-pound maximum trailer rating and 3,100-pound payload.
Furthermore, the Ram 1500 Tradesman HD is available only as a 4x2 regular cab truck with an 8-foot bed. Under the hood, we find a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine delivering 383 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.
Due to its impressive performances, the vehicle is equipped with a heavy-duty cooling, larger HD brakes, the HD six-speed automatic transmission and standard Class IV hitch with lighted, above-bumper 4- and 7-pin trailer wiring connectors.
Regarding its debut, the Ram 1500 Tradesman HD will hit the dealerships in the first quarter of 2012.
Ever since it was released as a standalone vehicle brand, Ram Truck has managed to cement its own identity while also being able to have its own customers. By having its very own brand, the company has been able to focus on its main customers and how they use their individual trucks and what particular features they want included. Ram has more than covered this particular market, whether it is for a business dependent on having commercial vehicles, a family that uses it on a daily basis, or even a customer who just wants to use a Ram Heavy Duty.
At present, the brand has the most advanced product line in the market as it relates to full-sized trucks. That Ram Truck has appeared to lead the full-size truck segment is no surprise considering that it continues to invest in new products, put in features that boost their capabilities, refine the interior, fit it with durable engines, and infuse it with excellent aesthetic elements.
The Ram 1500 for example is fitted with a smooth riding suspension and is powered by a HEMI V-8 engine with output at 390 horsepower and fuel efficiency of 20 mpg. As such, it was awarded in 2011 the AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Star and the Consumers Digest Best Buy. In the same year, the Texas Auto Writers Association selected it as the Truck of Texas.
President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico of Chrysler Group LLC Fred Diaz shared that the Ram 1500 Tradesman Heavy Duty has the features that commercial truck customers expect from a vehicle of this type but at an affordable price, truly a job-rated truck.
When it comes to the commercial truck segment, he continued, it is about having the ability to tow, haul more, and of course, the total cost of owning one. In a word, it is all about economics, he added. A truck that can tow more and carry more payload means less load and this in turn means lower fuel costs, Diaz further added.
