2013 Ford F-150 Limited takes the luxury truck segment higher

Article by Christian A., on June 26, 2012

As expected, Ford introduced today the latest 2013 F-150 Limited, a new statement on pickup luxury. For those who don’t know, Ford is a leader in the luxury truck segment and started its domination back in 1999 when the company introduced the special-edition 2000 Harley-Davidson F-150. After this the first King Ranch F-150 arrived in 2001 and was followed by the 2009 F-150 Platinum model.

The new 2013 Ford F-150 Limited promises to surpass the well-appointed Lariat, western-themed King Ranch and contemporary Platinum. In terms of design, the F-150 Limited comes with unique 22-inch polished aluminum wheels and center caps, with a monochromatic exterior theme available in three colors: Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Tuxedo Black Metallic and White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat.

Moreover, we find body-color front and rear bumpers, front bumper valance, sideview mirror caps, wheel-lip molding, upper fascia and grille surround. As a premiere in the segment, Ford offers HID headlamps capable to deliver two and a half times more light comparing them with conventional halogen lamps.

F-150 Limited is available exclusively with a SuperCrew four-door cab configuration. The interior was also upgraded and now features red and black full-grain leather seats with cooling and heating as well as memory functionality.

Furthermore, the head restraints are four-way-adjustable and second-row seats are heated. The center panel and console feature aluminum trims, complemented by the piano black accents. The F-150 Limited interior also offers ambient lightning offering five accent colors. The moonroof is offered as standard.

Ford F-150 Limited offers a rear view camera, voice-activated navigation, a central mounted 8-inch LCD screen and a power-sliding rear window with privacy tint and defrost functionality. MyFord powered by SYNC is offered as standard, as well as USB ports, an SD-card reader, RCA video input jacks and Sony Audio System.

Ford Motor Co. is celebrating the unveiling of the new 2013 Ford F-150 with the current professionals and future leaders of the agricultural sector.

Mark Fields, Ford president of The Americas, remarked that just like its customers, the carmaker has a commitment to get the job done right with its trucks. He added that this commitment is exemplified by the new 2013 F-150, as the US carmaker seeks to continuously enhance its trucks with new features and capabilities.

The 2013 iteration of the Ford F-150 is provided with a new front design as well as advanced technologies, like the MyFord Touch (with voice-activated driver controls) and the optional high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps.

Doug Scott, Ford Truck group marketing manager and FFA sponsor board member, quipped that farm families are some of F-Series’ important truck customers, who typically love to multi-task. He noted that for these customers, a Ford pickup serves as family transportation and economic livelihood. Scott said that Ford pickups have become an enduring agricultural tradition, and the carmaker is delighted to join hands with the FFA in unveiling the new F-150 models.

New Ford F-150 – regarded as the most capable yet the most fuel-efficient light-duty pickup in the market – greets the 2013 model year with its updated design and advanced technologies. For the 2013 model year, the new Ford F-150 could be availed with a new Limited luxury model. He added that customers could now avail of the EcoBoost engine or powerful 6.2-liter V8 powerplant as well as features like Hill Descent Control and electronic-locking rear axle.
