It was announced today that the 2013 Ford Focus ST will carry a price tag of $24,995. For those who don’t know, the 2013 Focus ST will be the first car from Ford which integrates a collection of advanced and sport-oriented technologies previously unavailable to North American customers. The Focus ST is powered by an EcoBoost 2.0-liter engine delivering 252 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque.

Moreover, the 2013 Focus ST is fitted with a sound symposer box that enriches the natural sounds of the motor by capturing internal engine oscillations and piping them through the interior under throttle.

If you are interested in buying a 2013 Ford Focus ST you’ll have to know that if you place your order between May 1st and August 20th you will be eligible for the GoPro HD Hero2 Camera System. According to Ford, the GoPro HD Hero2 Motorsports Edition camera is the perfect tool to capture a spirited drive or Focus ST track day.

Customers will receive the camera after vehicle delivery. The Focus ST will also be available with exclusive features such as the Tangerine Scream metallic color and the race-inspired Recaro seats with matching color accents.

Moreover, the Focus ST features unique sport suspension that combines several technologies never before seen.

The electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) on Focus ST is enhanced with torque steer compensation and will be offered as standard. Also as standard are the unique 18-inch Y-spoke ST wheels but also the unique 18-inch Y-spoke ST wheels. The interior will also get the SYNC with MyFord Touch, a Sony Audio System, HD Radio and 10-speaker surround sound.

Whether customers will get the wagon version or the five-door variant, the Ford Focus ST is able to acquire the same driving qualities that have made the “Sports Technologies” models lead the way against its rivals. Everything inside, from the engine to the chassis and even when it comes to the comfort and sound, has been tuned to make sure that this model is able to deliver on the promise of a sporty experience combined with refinement on a level that is unheard of in this class.

All of these qualities will serve as the basis for future models that will carry the ST name. Other qualities exhibited by the Focus ST include both bumpers in the front and the rear being improved to show more aggressiveness.

A key element to this new design language as well is the inclusion of sideskirts and spoiler in the rear section. Further, the new Focus ST makes use of a rather distinct signature color. Under the Focus ST’s skin, one is likely to see a more detailed display of the design language that will be implemented on the ST lineup as part of the brand’s strategy for global performance vehicles.

Ford’s Global Performance Vehicles is composed mainly of the Special Vehicles Team based in the U.S. and the Ford Team RS located in Europe. However, experts in the brand’s Africa and Asia Pacific locations also provided important input. The main goal is that everyone should work together in order to come up with a plan that all global performance vehicles Ford would release in the future would follow.

Capito confirmed that the Focus ST did not happen by accident. It all started, he continued, with the global performance strategy which was initially developed by experts working in North America, Europe, and even Asia. Through this strategy, he added, the brand was able to come up with important characteristics that would serve as the global design which engineers can then use in order to make the Focus ST. Capito further said that these qualities include driving dynamics, power improvements, sound quality, and steering.
