Get ready for the launch of the restyled, new Peugeot RCZ in January 2013 in the UK. This model, which had its global debut at the Paris Motor Show last year, said that the restyling of Peugeot’s famous sports coupé is a major update to the vehicle’s front face, boosted by improved specs, a broader variety of equipment options with new colour and trim combinations.
For the UK market, the New RCZ will keep its two level ‘Sport’ and ‘GT’ range ranges. Meanwhile, the RCZ Sport will have a set of 18” ‘Original’ alloy wheels and a series of familiar features like dual-zone air conditioning, rear parking aid and USB box with Bluetooth. The generous specification is further improved with the use of automatic lighting, such as ‘Approach’ and ‘Follow-me-home’ features.
RCZ Sport will come with new options such as half leather and leather/ Alcantara trim treatments. At the GT level, which is selected by over 80% of customers, the New RCZ will ride on 19” ‘Technical’ alloy wheels as standard.
The new wheel has been designed to keep the dynamic visual attractiveness of GT, while also giving it a new look. There are more changes in the cabin of GT models with the standard features like the interior sports kit, together with sports steering wheel and gear lever.
The interior of the GT features simple leather, with the addition of an optional Cohiba Brown colour, on both simple and integral leathers. The available options are new matt black roof arches – which make the RCZ recognizable. It will have new body transfer decals and additional alloy wheel options, showing off the continued visual versatility of RCZ and the broad choices for customers.
Even with its new appearance and improved specifications, the new RCZ is still priced competitively. The new RCZ Sport has a starting price of £21,595 on the road. This is £385 higher than the current RCZ Sport. The New RCZ GT is priced from £23,995 on the road, with a ‘price walk’ of £2,400. Deliveries will begin in mid-January 2013.
The reconstruction of the Peugeot RCZ can be easily noticed in its entire design. During the pre-production, the goal was to develop a more contemporary design—one that is more distinct and exclusive than the recent variant.
The bodywork of the latest RCZ was given a completely fresh look through the harmony between the front and the rear. The front face looks smoother and more athletic. This entirely different front face highlights the rear wings’ power and the 'double-bubble' roof’s luxurious arches. The air intake at the center is more refined and chic. It is invigorated by two satin chrome bars. The feature creates a strong and refined feel.
A lower air intake emphasizes the new grill. The air intake sweeps from one side to another through a distinct light signature. The light can be seen during daytime and nighttime. It is made up of six Light-emitting diodes. The LED lights are delicately formed into a claw shape beneath a smoked lens which fuses into a shiny black rim.
The latest model has sinuous curves that are technical and modern. The latest headlights come in a directional Xenon version with a Titanium background and a halogen version with an Aluminum background.
The latest look gives the vehicle a modern and unique stance. It incorporates improved control and luxurious appearance.
Real everyday practicality
The vehicle has proven its functionality. It has 384 liters of volume boot capacity, plus storage sections beneath the floor which adds over 30 liters more. The RCZ’s volume boot can be considered very liberal for its class. The full carrying capacity of the car is maximized to 760 liters when the two extra rear seats are folded.
