An exclusive group of BMW Group Canada customers went on a special trip to the BMW Welt International Delivery Centre in Munich, Germany, to receive their all-new 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupé Individual Launch Edition vehicles. After taking delivery of their new 2014 M6 Gran Coupés at the BMW Welt, the group went on to make a four-day drive event through Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.
The group’s first-class journey will cover more than 1,100 km of scenic terrain suited to showcase the performance as well as the luxury of the 2014 M6 Gran Coupés, the newest member of the carmaker’s M family. Each of the new M6 Gran Coupé owners will have a big chance to become a part of a VIP experience at the 24h race and M festival at Nürburgring from May 17 to May 21, 2013.
The M6 Gran Coupé Launch Edition European tour includes first-class accommodations, a drive from Munich to Nürburgring, participation in the M festival and a chopper ride over the 24h race track during the event. The trip also includes a chance to visit the BMW test centre where they could meet the BMW racing team.
The trip serves as a perfect demonstration for the introduction of BMW’s latest M6 member. It was made possible through a partnership between BMW Group Canada and BMW Individual. The 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupé is finished in exclusive Pure Metal Silver paintwork and comes with exclusive two-tone upholstery.
It boasts of Merino Silverstone seat centers, lower dashboard panels and door inserts and black seat bolsters, center console, upper dashboard and carpeting. The coupé’s black leather surfaces -- including front and rear seats, dashboard and upper door parts – were applied with Silverstone contrast stitching. The vehicle’s interior trim is finished in BMW Individual Piano Black. BMW also loaded the M6 Gran Coupé with a state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen audio system.
BMW M6 Gran Coupe features a chassis technology that is geared towards harnessing the sporting potential of the car for supreme performance. The car’s double-wishbone front axle, like its integral rear axle, boasts specific kinematics and components that are made from forged aluminium. To ensure that dynamic forces are evenly passed through to the body, the car’s chassis mounting uses large panels.
A hydraulic variable-ratio rack-&-pinion steering with M Servotronic function and an M-specific Dynamic Damper Control system are standard in the M6 Gran Coupe.
Moreover, as alternative to the high-performance compound braking system, which is standard, the M6 Gran Coupe can also have M carbon-ceramic brakes. The discs are made from a new kind of carbon-fiber compound ceramic and boast greater heat resistance, exceptional resistance to wear, and lower weight.
What’s more, the buttons that are used to configure the adjustable chassis and powertrain functions according to your personal taste are arranged around the center console’s gearshift lever. Additionally, you can select the DSC mode, Dynamic Damper Control mapping, engine performance characteristics, M DCT Drivelogic shift program, and M Servotronic responses independently of each other. These mean that you can store your preferred settings on one of the M Drive buttons found on the car’s multifunction steering wheel and that you can put a detailed setup together.
