2014 Fiat 500L earns ‘Top Safety Pick’ award from IIHS

Article by Christian A., on November 2, 2013

The all-new 2014 Fiat 500L has earned the recognition as a 2013 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. This revolutionary four-door B-segment hatchback is just one of the two Chrysler Group vehicles to be named in the recent batch of IIHS assessments. For the last 10 months, the IIHS has commended 14 Chrysler Group vehicles.

To be designated as a Top Safety Pick, the vehicle has to get a “good” rating in the following tests: side impact, front moderate-overlap impact, roof-crush experienced from a rollover, and a rear collision that may induce whiplash. The all-new Fiat 500L was given the highest-possible score of “good” in all of these tests.

Jason Stoicevich, Head of Fiat Brand for North America, Chrysler Group LLC, said that the all-new 2014 Fiat 500L is a “unique” offering in this market as it merges Italian style with a loft-like interior, tremendous value and sophisticated safety features like reactive head restraints and seven standard air bags.

All-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee mid-size SUV was also named as a 2013 Top Safety Pick. It comes with 10 air bags as standard. It also uses a 65% content ratio of advanced-technology steel.

Other than being comfortable and practical, the Fiat 500L is hip. It communicates the taste of Italian style with a distinguishable appearance and conveys Fiat's one-of-a-kind ability to conceive and create vehicles which are ingenious in substance and in form. Substance transforms into the idea of "space-efficiency" that separates the most ingenious Fiats in history.

Just as the 600 Multipla was the pioneer of the concept of compact people carrier, the 500L is the fresh Fiat rendition of the Simply More idea applied to the Multispace concept. The Fiat 500L revolutionizes the classification of compact vehicles for the modern family in a dramatic vein by producing a portion of the 500's expressive details in exceptional forms.

The distinguishable components of the Fiat 500L, set apart by a body design that excludes edges and taut lines to support "gentler" forms, alludes to a "placid", non-aggressive object that exudes charisma and forecasts a more symmetrical format for the urban scene and environment.

When glancing at the brand-new 500L, we understand that the trademark nature, in particular the strength and personality of the vehicle’s design, frames a real matrix of the whole venture.

Created within the context of the all-new Fiat B segment stage, the Fiat 500L is an ingenious car that tends to a more varied and extensive client base and that goes for setting higher standards regarding availability of on-board space and comfort. The outcome is a highly functional vehicle ready to "converse" with the driver and offer first-rate quality to appreciate throughout the years.
