Few days ago we revealed you the first patent images with the all-new 2014 Lexus GX but it appears that the Japanese manufacturer was a little bothered by the photos. As a result, it released the official images with the 2014 Lexus GX 460. As you can see from the photos the changes are quite radical and we find a redesign front end consisting of a new interpretation of the Lexus spindle grille, standard LED headlamps and daytime running lights, LED fog lamps.
A new set of taillights was also designed. Inside, we find the new touch-screen display audio that adds an eight-inch screen, backup monitor, HD Radio, Bluetooth audio, automatic phone book transfer, vehicle information display and complimentary traffic and weather data provider via HD Radio. Furthermore, we find a new linear espresso wood/abyss black trim, new mahogany wood trim for both the Premium Package and Luxury model.
Moreover, as an option, Lexus offers Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). The new Premium Package will be available at the same price as the base 2013MY GX 460 and includes the navigation system with backup monitor, perforated leather trimmed interior, heated and ventilate front seats, Intuitive Parking Assist and a three zone climate control.
In addition, the 2014MY GX 460 Luxury model comes with Adaptable Air Suspension, Navigation, Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Intuitive Parking Assist, and 18-inch split six-spoke wheels with liquid graphite finish.
Under the hood, we find the same 4.6-liter V8 engine bolted to a six-speed electronically controlled transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), delivering 301 hp at 5,500 rpm. According to the official press release, the 2014 Lexus GX 460 is capable to deliver an EPA-estimated fuel consumption of 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.
The standard full-time four-wheel drive uses an electronically controlled transfer case and a TORSEN torque-sensing limited slip center differential which can be electronically locked.
It also offers a low range for off-road driving. Pricing of the 2014 Lexus GX 460 starts at $49,085, $4,170 less than the 2013MY GX. The MSRP does not include a delivery, processing and handling fee of $910. The 2014 Lexus GS 460 Luxury model is priced at $60,715 plus the $910 delivery, processing and handling fee. [source: Lexus]
