2014 Mazda3 now included in Mazda Driving School Program

Article by Christian A., on May 2, 2014

The Mazda Driving School Program will now include the all new all-new 2014 Mazda3. It will join the popular Mazda2 and all-new Mazda3 in the program that is targeted towards qualified driving instructors across the United Kingdom who either are self-employed or are working for small driving schools.

Driving instructors can avail of the Mazda2 and the Mazda3 as complemented by new incentives like a cash saving of £1,350 on the all-new Mazda3 and £650 on the Mazda2 as well as low rate vehicle finance at 5.9% APR on both models.

Under the program, both models would be supplied and fitted with approved He-Man dual controls at no cost. Mazda launched the Mazda3 in January and has since posted strong sales figures thanks to its good looks, performance, and fuel efficiency benefits. Mazda sees more sales for the Mazda3 following its inclusion in the driving school program.

Driving instructors will surely benefit from Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology that does not only renders the Mazda3 very fuel efficient but also very safety, especially during crashes as evidenced by a five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP.

The all-new Mazda3 with SKYACTIV technology could travel 72.4 miles per gallon of fuel and emit just 104 grams of carbon dioxide with its 2.2‑liter 150ps SKYACTIV-D. The Mazda Mazda3 1.5-liter SKYACTIV-G 100ps SE Hatchback carries a starting on-the-road (OTR) price of £16,695.

Mazda3 is also available in 2.0-liter 120ps and 165ps petrol models. The Mazda2, which is popular among driving schools, could be availed in all models through the Mazda Driving School Program, save for Colour Editions.

Mazda2 has a starting OTR price of £11,195 for the 1.3-liter 75ps SE with air conditioning. Mazda2 could alsop be availed in 1.3-liter 84ps and 1.5-liter 102ps models.

Mazda Head of Fleet Steve Tomlinson remarked that while Mazda2 is in regular demand from driving instructors, there are those who want a larger car that delivers safety, environmental and fuel efficiency benefits while being used both to instruct driving students and as their family vehicle.

With just one look, the new Mazda 3 is able to immediately rouse the spirit of those looking at it. It then takes hold of the onlooker after which it then tightens its grip. This latest offering from Mazda not only draws one in but even gets under their skin. However, once that important connection has been established, it marks the beginning of what is clearly a long relationship.

Supporting this magnetic appeal is the design theme known as "KODO - Soul of Motion". This design theme takes its inspiration from the power and the beauty that nature offers. Mazda however developed the KODO in order to make its unique sense of agility and vitality go one step higher. Given that the new generation of models is truly uncompromising, the Mazda 3 is one that is asking to be driven.

Mazda 3 has long been known to be uniquely Mazda and is highly-praised as such. This latest incarnation though looks to be a renaissance of sorts. No doubt that the brand has managed to create a model that is truly a passionate expression of what is clearly dynamic motion.

As a result, it is able to evolve the boldness of the KODO especially for the energetic and strong C-segment proportions. Similar to the previous models that use the KODO, the new Mazda 3 showcases a firm stance that is augmented by the compact looking cabin that leans towards the rear. Compared to the current model, the new version is both wider and lower.

The profile is raked and rises in a dramatic fashion to the rear section. This is reinforced by the boldly flared fenders and when compared with the large aluminum sporty wheels positioned at the corners, it expresses strength and agility. The brand’s characteristic off-the-line power is also evident. Going back to the overall impression of the new Mazda 3, it is easy to see that it instantly ignites a fire in an onlooker’s heart even at first sight.

It sparks one’s imagination and come up with different possibilities. All of the energetic tension is combined with that inviting, and rather refreshingly uncommon, feel of rhythm. The glossy surface textures give out reflections that change similar to one’s emotion, through the viewer’s position and lighting. It does so in a drastic and sometimes subtle manner but manages to lift the mood and capture the senses.
