MG disclosed that its much awaited MG3 supermini will have starting tag of £8,399 and a finish price of £9,999. Its affordability is the not the only good thing about the MG3 but likewise its predicted insurance group rating of just 4E, which is less than half those of equivalent competitor products. Despite its low price, the MG3 supermini still sports a good level of specification, either for safety or practicality.

All MG3 models feature as standard signature front LED lights and electronic hill hold. All except for the base model boast of a high quality DAB audio system. The MG3’s interior features one of the most spacious cabins in the supermini class. The supermini boasts of six airbags, electronic stability control, corner brake control and traction control -- all of these latest technology safety equipment come as standard.

Providing perhaps the greatest appeal for the MG3 is the capacity given to buyers to customize their own supermini. One could choose from a wide variety of colors, exterior graphics, interior color packs and leather upholstery -- all created by the carmaker’s design team in the United Kingdom and inspired by the British fashion industry.

A customer could choose from four MG3 variants, all available with a full range of options and accessories. The entry model MG3 3TIME comes with a £8,399 tag, and boasts a CD player with MP3 compatibility and Aux-in facility.

Priced at £9,299 is the mid-range MG3 3FORM, which features as standard air conditioning, DAB radio and Bluetooth and audio streaming. It also features leather MG-design steering wheel with red stitching and steering wheel audio controls. MG3 3FORM SPORT is for those who want to have an MG3 that looks like the range-topper but are contented with the equipment level available on the 3FORM.

MG3 3FORM SPORT is available at £9,549 and includes all the features of the 3FORM, with the sports body styling pack and 16” “Carousel” alloy wheels.

Topping the range is the MG3 3STYLE, which features with premium 16” “Diamond” alloy wheel and a sports body styling pack that includes the rear boot spoiler and side sill extensions.

Coming as standard for this version are cruise control, automatic lights and windscreen wipers and reverse parking sensors -- all for only £9,999. All models are powered by a 106PS petrol engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission, and sit on a dynamic MG chassis. [source: MG]
