It can also be availed in either of the unveiled PureTech naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit petrol engines. Buyers of the Peugeot 108 will sure appreciate its personalization feature, as the city car is available in a number of colors, ambiences, trims and themes.

The city car also boasts of technological features for the enjoyment of its riders like a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with DAB digital radio; Mirror Screen with MirrorLink technology; Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones; and the steering wheel-mounted controls – all of which, until recently, were only found in premium saloons that far more expensive than the Peugeot 108.

Despite these features, the Peugeot just carries a starting price of £8,245 on the road and is available in familiar four trim levels – Access, Active, Allure and Feline. The Access level -- only available on three-door 108 Hatch models – boasts of standard features like LED daytime running lights, remote central locking, USB/aux connection for external audio players with steering wheel-mounted controls.

It also features six airbags, ESP stability control and two rear ISOFIX mountings. Active models are offered a starting price of £9,495. Up next the level ladder is the Allure, which boasts of 15-inch ‘Thorren’ alloy wheels, front fog lights, auto headlights and electric heated door mirrors. It also features reversing camera, leather steering wheel and gear knob, and PEUGEOT Open & Go -- keyless entry and engine start/stop button.

Allure models have a base price of £10,995. Topping the level is the Peugeot 108 Feline, which adds leather upholstery, chrome door handles and mirrors and automatic dual zone air conditioning. Feline models carry a base tag of £11,845. Peugeot is also introducing the 108 TOP – a version of the city car featuring a retractable fabric roof than can be deployed and closed electrically at any speed.

This can be availed in Active and Allure trims. Both the 108 Hatch and TOP! Could be powered by either a 1.0-liter 68bhp with 95g/km of carbon dioxide emission (88g/km with Stop and Start), or a 1.2-liter PureTech VTi 82bhp with 99g/km of CO2 emissions.

The engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. The 1.0 liter engine could be mated to a 2-Tronic semi-automatic gearbox as an option. The 1.0 liter 108 TOP! Cabrio is offered at starting price of £10,345 to a top tag of £12,245.
